Eh... the train thing looks pretty stupid to be honest. Though that whip looks fun.

The puzzles look awesome, but the train seems gimmicky.

I hope that this game has a character as memorable as Linebeck.

Anyone who has played Phantom Hourglass knows what I'm talking about: Captain Linebeck is a very awesome character (specially at the end battle).

Yeah, he was like the Zelda version of Jack Sparrow, he was really funny. Shame we probably won't see him again =(.

He was definitely one of the best characters in the game, but he struck me as a kind of stock anime type. Like someone out of One Piece or something (it's been years since I saw any One Piece, so I couldn't say who).

Linebeck is the funniest character in the entire Zelda franchise, I hope PH doesn't remain his only showing.

Looks like they're really thinking creatively on the puzzle front. good.

And i do like that the story is finally set in "the new Hyrule" that the King wanted Link and Tetra to find.

I find timing annoying sometimes, but not all the time.
In Majora's mask i never minded it because it was a pretty long period of time. And you could reset it as many times as you want. I DID mind time limits in a game like Pikmin, where there was no time to mess around or explore or practice commanding them because if you didn't hurry you wouldnt finish the game at all. In the temple of the ocean king, whats the worst that can happen? You die and have to start over? If you found a new shortcut or treasure chest in the process it was worth it.

Im a Zelda fanboy, but I've never really been a fan of the handheld ones. I prefer the console epics, they're so much more engaging and breathtaking in scope and story. But thats just me.

Me want this really badly. As long as they don't repeat the whole Ocean Temple from Hourglass, then i can die happy with this game.

It's too bad about the touch screen controls, I might've picked the game up otherwise.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of the touch controls either. Maybe I'll force myself to play through this one like I did with PH just for the sake of it being a Zelda game.

You should give them another try...you really do get used to them and they become intuitive. Of course, to each his own, but it's a shame to miss out on a Zelda game because of something like that.

I did play Phantom Hour glass. I thought it had the potential to be fun, but I don't like being forced to use touch screen controls when it doesn't even bring anything to the game. Is it really that much more fun touching the screen to swing a sword, move, roll etc? Not for me.

Plus it always seemed like my hand was in the way of the screen.

I think for me it was a little more fun than using the D pad and A+B, but mostly it was just easier and more natural. The only real drawback is that somehow it adds another layer of abstraction beyond what you have with tactile buttons. As accurate and efficient as the controls were, it sometimes felt like you weren't Link, you were just influencing him.

That whip is pretty cool, looks like fun. I have a feeling this is going to be a really good Zelda. If they deliver a solid experience that isn't hampered by time restraints or repetitive temples to visit....it could be the Ocarina of Time for DS kind of big.

There I go again....getting my hopes up with my crazy dreams!

I didn't like the boat part of Phantom Hourglass, mostly because it made the world seem so small and impossible to explore. I really, really hope that they can remedy that somehow in this game.

It wasn't so much for me that the Ocean Temple was timed, or that it was mostly stealth, or that it was repeating. It was the fact that it was a TIMED STEALTH REPEATING dungeon, all in one. None of these elements are particularly great on their own, but all three of them together made it downright horrible.

Although once you got the hammer, it made it that much more satisfying to strike down those stupid phantoms.

Is it just me or do they try to sell us the exact same game again? Minus the "You have to repeat this crap 10 times"-Dungeon of course. PH was the first Zelda, that made me want to just return it to the shop. I guess this one is the first Zelda, I will rent and not buy. Really looking forward on the Wii Zelda though. (yes, even though Link seems to be right-handed. I can look past that)

PS: I can't believe the post didn't mention the biggest flaw of PH which in my eyes was that every dungeon played essentially the same.

I personally love "Phantom Hourglass." This game looks pretty sweet but I would have liked more adventures with PH's iteration of Link as opposed to a future generation Link. I feel this style lent itself to using the same character. Especially since this Link looks identical to the last. I don't know. At least make them family or something.

And I'm still a little uncertain about the train. It seems a little out of place in Zelda games--though a paddlewheel boat is too, I suppose. Ultimately, though, the fact that Link has a whip is insanely awesome!
