Sounds like Killzone: Liberation and that is definitely a good thing.

I'm playing that now (just received it from GameFly yesterday). Takes a little getting used to coming from console shooters (I wish it moved a little bit faster), but I'm definitely warming to it.

Before this, I sent back MGS: Portable Ops back after playing the first level because I just couldn't deal with the slow, weird movement of the game (sacrilege, I know - was MGS this slow and awkward when it first came out too? 'Cause I loved that game). It was far too distracting, and the game wasn't fun enough to make me want to stop playing Patapon 2 (tough standards for any PSP game, I know). I don't understand why the action can't be a little more frantic on the PSP shooter side (SOCOM Fireteam Bravo's are the only shooters I've really enjoyed on the PSP to date).

Looks good. I'm glad they decided to work towards the PSP's strengths on this one (i.e. isometric camera instead of first/third-person)

I'll have to guess its only ad-hoc. There's just to much costs involved in putting up an infrastructure server.

You didn't read about the new move where you inject your partner with 'roids? Too bad the PSP won't have the force feedback like on the PS3/360 versions for when you stick the needle in his ass.

aristokrat,

You should try the Syphon Filter series. I liked it much better than MGS:PO, and Resistance is worth at least a rent if you haven't tried it.

I agree with you in that KZ takes some time getting used to, and it can be frustrating, but I enjoyed it. Make sure you download the extra episode.

i agree with the syphon filter suggestion. those games were GREAT. but resistance was nonstop shooting, it got boring after a little while.

Tru dat Ezio. The Syphon Filter games really nailed the pacing aspect well. Resistance is a worthy rental though, but you might have buyers remorse if you plunk down 30-40 bone for it. It could have benefited from some of pacing/multi-faceted aspects of the Sony Bend's other work.

Cool, thanks for the tips (especially re: the extra episode). Resistance is already in my queue (I loved both PS3 games, especially the awesome exploding shell magnum), but maybe I'll give Syphon Filter a shot also. I think I have a demo floating around somewhere... In all honesty, my PSP schedule is about to be packed once Rock Band Unplugged ships, and I still haven't finished Patapon 2. Looks like I need a little more time in my day!

To tell you the truth i was hoping a true Army of two game for psp. Its not like they can't do it they can observe other TPS and use there control scheme or edit it a little bit and not make it from a distant view. And i don't see why they don't put infrastructure, its not like psp is a limited-online system, most games that have ad-hoc could simply add online, if they can't put up a server then ask gamespy, they mostly host games for the psp. Im actually quite tired of seeing great franchise games like killzone and resistance minimized to games true fans to the series wouldn't actually play. The only reason gamers buy these game because its from a popular developer or it has something important to the franchise. RR could have kept its FPS if they just made it FPS, when people say a console game is heading to psp you would expect to see a similar view of the console only psp graphics and different control scheme. But no they would do a complete change that would lead you either ignoring the game and play the console version or just play it because your a fan to the series and want to see what happens in the franchise. The only shooter games that kept its element from its console systems, is socom ftb series, MOH series, syphon filter series, rachet and clank, and star wars battlefront(actually the battlefront series on the psp actually improved it instead of removing all the elements people loved from it).

I don't think EA Montreal is developing this, just producing. I believe the developer is in Eugene, Oregon. I don't know their name though.

Am I the only person who disliked first game? The game was too short, the dialogue was cheesy, co-op mechanics felt too forced/scripted (go to the circle to do back-to-back, now go to this ledge to help your partner up, etc). And playing the game in single-player (with AI for help) was way too frustrating... I only completed the game in co-op mode.

It felt like Gears of War, only with poorer graphics and gameplay.

The only thing I enjoyed was pimping out your guns with shiny gold-plating to max your "agro". It's was corny, but funny as hell.
