Here's what Last.fm on Xbox 360 looks like
Click for the first of many Last.fm images
One of the more interesting questions that arose from Microsoft's keynote during last week's E3 was just how Last.fm would be implemented. Well, let Joystiq help clear the air of confusion, as Microsoft has dished out some screens depicting the interface for the soon-to-be Xbox 360-compatible music service. It looks pretty streamlined, if we may say so, with easily identifiable links to tags and artists similar to what you're currently listening to. What we didn't know, however, is that Last.fm will also be a bridge between the Xbox 360 and its closest competitor, Sony's PS3. See the "Play Station" above? When the service releases, you'll be able to play Infamous on your Xbox 360. For reals!

Ooooooh I see what you did there
Robert27 @ Jun 8th 2009 11:05PM
oooo I loled to what he did there!
Shagittarius @ Jun 8th 2009 3:34PM
The music industry was so busy building new ways to get their crappy music to us that they never stopped to ask if they should!
MystileArmor @ Jun 8th 2009 3:41PM
Wow... I've seen many people slam all sorts of music (me being one of them occasionally), but I've never seen anyone just fucking slam music in general.
Did you get beaten by your parents while playing a mixtape or something?
Fernando Rocker @ Jun 8th 2009 3:54PM

Well... there are no "music industry" anymore. All the music (aparently is music) that almost every radio station or TV channel uses, is just "entertainers pretending doing music"...
Heck Shaggi... they are even people who consider DJs to be musicians... go figure.
MystileArmor @ Jun 8th 2009 4:02PM
I don't know what the two of you are smoking. There is tons of good music out there, granted, not so much on tv or public radio, but still.
Stations like Pandora, last.fm etc. are the beginning of a revival in the music industry. People discover new music, new artists. New artists get exposure. These websites are fantastic for both the artists and the consumers.

@Fernando Rocker
Are you still on with your DJ's=/=Musicians crap? Fun fact, a lot DJ's ARE musicians as some make music along with being a DJ. Amon Tobin, J.G. Thriwell, Tiesto (Yes he uses instruments despite it being electronic), Paul Oakenfold, Above & Beyond, you're getting what I'm saying. It's easier just to DJ for a crowd than carrying around and paying for an entire orchestra like Paul van Dyk's music discovery program.
B0E0S @ Jun 8th 2009 4:22PM
Music is subjective.
Shagittarius @ Jun 8th 2009 4:28PM
Intelligence varies.

nando, DJs are musicians. i don't know why you're still convinced they're not.
Fun DMC @ Jun 8th 2009 7:02PM
"they are even people who consider DJs to be musicians... go figure."
I've had this discussion with both y'all before. Whatever. Keep your head up your ass, I don't care. At least Shags can put up an argument of worth.
seemoneh @ Jun 9th 2009 12:28AM
I officially renege on the biggest douche title I awarded you a few days ago, and I agree with your stance on the modern music industry.
Pantsparty @ Jun 8th 2009 3:35PM
I'm confused. Is that sarcasm in the last paragraph? My sarcasm detector is broken. It doesn't work very well through the internets in the first place though. Please explain.
Pantsparty @ Jun 8th 2009 3:36PM
Never mind. I got it working again.
Ha Ha

um play station would be to play the station of the artist?
CTC XBL-supapaypamawio PSN-ctclaw @ Jun 8th 2009 3:38PM
Um...where were you during the E3 announcements? Microsoft announced that they would be able to stream Playstation games to the 360 with Last.fm
Cody @ Jun 8th 2009 3:42PM
Some people just don't get sarcasm.
CTC XBL-supapaypamawio PSN-ctclaw @ Jun 8th 2009 3:44PM
I wonder what that would be like...if you didn't get sarcasm would you be going around and telling your friends that the Xbox could now play Playstation games?
Wilhelm @ Jun 8th 2009 3:45PM
O RLY?
Mazrael @ Jun 8th 2009 4:10PM
hey Steve.. maybe this includes an emulator for Playstation games.. PS3 games need to be downloaded cos of the blu ray discs mean nothing to 360... feel free to pop you PS2 games in your 360.. they will work with Last FM.. *crosses fingers behind back*.. promise
Temidien @ Jun 9th 2009 9:56AM
*whoosh*
MystileArmor @ Jun 8th 2009 3:37PM
I am a very regular user of Pandora.com, but with the anticipation of Last.fm on the Xbox, I've already set up an account.
Can't wait for this to go live, cause usually I resort to listening to mp3's through an external harddrive. This will be a great way to discover new bands while playing my fav games with my friends.
Also, I hope there will be a feature to share your station with friends on the Xbox 360.
Wild Bill @ Jun 8th 2009 3:50PM
I don't believe it's been confirmed that you can use this service while in game. It needs to be though!
pibs @ Jun 8th 2009 4:12PM
Streaming while in game would be amazing. I doubt it requires much bandwidth and with cache it shouldn't create lag in games. That is unless your connecting to your neighbors wifi with a pringles can.
Vegnagun bwf @ Jun 8th 2009 3:39PM
I was hoping this would turn into a Last.fm comparison topic...
seriousam7 @ Jun 8th 2009 4:41PM
lolz

MystileArmor @ Jun 8th 2009 3:43PM
Oh Joystiq,.. just when I think this won't happen anymore. It's like being happily married for 25 years, only to find out that your wife has been doing everyone on the block for about 24 of those years.
rTwelve @ Jun 8th 2009 4:07PM
while playing a mixtape
MystileArmor @ Jun 8th 2009 4:17PM
I blame the music industry for skanky women!
joeybeast @ Jun 8th 2009 3:40PM
I can have Play Station on my Xbox!
SWEET.
ChiTownRuler23 @ Jun 8th 2009 3:43PM
thats the first thing i noticed when i saw this article
P7 @ Jun 8th 2009 3:42PM
Now, if you could Joystiq, clear the air for some of us about what countries this will be available in. Please?
tenor77 @ Jun 8th 2009 3:44PM
I'd be changing that font. And quick.
Fernando Rocker @ Jun 8th 2009 3:46PM
I just saw the Apple Conference at Engadget, and they also used The Killers in their presentation...
But why? They suck balls...
The Killers = Shit Rock
tmacairjordan87 @ Jun 8th 2009 3:52PM
Ooooh so we're doing this again? Ok I'm on board.
Yeah fuck the killers and all this shitty emo/punk/pop rock that's all around nowadays!
And fuck Nirvana....just because.
Shagittarius @ Jun 8th 2009 3:54PM
Nirvana rocks, fuck you and the sweaty balls your rode in on!
Fernando Rocker @ Jun 8th 2009 3:56PM
Shaggi...
I tought you and I had something in common just like me and tmac...
I can't believe that you like Nirvana, the real rock & roll music killers.
NOOK @ Jun 8th 2009 4:02PM
Nirvana: 2nd most overrated band in music history.
Ezio Auditore (Now equipped with double blades!) [PSN SniperChameleon] @ Jun 8th 2009 4:03PM
come on guys, let's not do this again...
Shagittarius @ Jun 8th 2009 4:04PM
I don't understand how you guys cant like Nirvana, they blew away the bullshot glam rock (bad glam rock not good glam) that was destroying rock music. All the other great music and musicians that followed after that brought real heart and soul back into the music.
Its too bad now that its once again turned to crappy overproduced no talent pop band ass monkeys.
GewurztraminerX @ Jun 8th 2009 4:06PM
Obviously they're just browsing. Did everyone fail to notice they are actually listening to U2?
CJLopez @ Jun 8th 2009 4:09PM
Smell Like a teen spirit FTW!!!!!
Night Elve @ Jun 8th 2009 4:12PM
I guess that's your sole opinion Fernando, for me The Killers really rocks but hey that's just my opinion.
You can't criticize music just because you don't like it, heck there's so many people out there that likes Reggaeton, even that I don't like this music I respect what people listen.
Fernando Rocker @ Jun 8th 2009 4:16PM
Nighy Elve
The problem I have with these bands is that they are calling themselves a rock band. I would not have problem with those bands if they did call themselves a pop band, or a wannabe-rock band or something like that.
Einhanderkiller @ Jun 8th 2009 4:23PM
Whale songs are the best!
Tehman @ Jun 8th 2009 4:26PM
The Killers are one of my favorite bands....
I don't see them as emo >.>;
DasFoote @ Jun 8th 2009 4:48PM
Hey! I listen to U2! Please don't hate me.
Ezio Auditore (Now equipped with double blades!) [PSN SniperChameleon] @ Jun 8th 2009 5:01PM
and not all recent music is bad. the gorillaz for example. they really brought great, diverse music back. and wolfmother brought back the great feeling of classic rock.
