ive dropped my ps3 3 times(accidently of course)and its still going strong and i dont have to worry about over playing and over heating because it will automatically shut down if you play it too much(cod4). why do you think 360 are so cheap?

Here in the UK we always had to provide our own box. But after I got it back I just kept the same box it was sent back in, just in case it ever dies again. It has specially shaped polystyrene things. And in the UK we always had to print off the emailed label for UPS.

Weird, I found out about this 4 or 5 months ago when I had to send my Elite in for the second time, and all they would do is give me a label to print. Luckily, I kept the "coffin" from my first fail, two weeks after I got the system!

Wow, a box that costs pennies is coming in at too expensive for MS accountants? that just goes to prove what a rubbish system they built. about to send third one back myself luckily i bought a spare a while back and kept that box so gonna send back in that and then whatever they return in will use in future as suggested. the saving us time line is BS as when mine gone back everytime so far ups was here next morning with a box ready to pick it up so anyway could be quicker boxless is if you phone them up and ups ring ya door few minutes l8r

" I was able to get a box from them just last week by requesting it via the xbox.com repair process. It still had the 3 options. Still waiting for the box to show up. UPS says it will be here Thursday. Fortunately I have a 2nd Xbox. "

So Does Microsoft Have 28 Million XBox 360 users.
More Likely there are 16 Million and 12 Million Dead...
My 1st XBox is Dead after 3 Red Rings...
Good Job Microsoft... Good Job...

Hmm, seems Microsoft is getting cheap. It seems like this would make it more of a hassle and wouldn't be nearly as safe a way to ship it to them.

I was intending to arrange for my e74-riddled machine to be sent in for repair this week only to find that I have been unable to get on the support website which has been down for the last two days.

Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is an absolute joke... :(

I wish their was something myself and people who are simiarly our of pocket could do here. I am considering contacting Watchdog (I live in the UK) who are a TV show who fight for people who have similarly been ripped off and are being treated unfairly.

The only thing left is to warn other people if Microsoft are going to continue behaving like this and get away with it.

My family is on our third console and we have over one hundred games bought between us all which will be useless when (not 'if) the third console goes.

Old news. They stopped providing coffins a long time ago. At least they weren't offering any when my original 360 fucked up last year.

Man, my brother is on his 4th Xbox and we live in Venezuela, we just have to buy them again we can't send it in, but you're not gonna believe this, i dunno if i got lucky or not, but i purchased my xbox around the same time every single one started to die, around the 2006 holidays... it's still up and running, and it has never failed me whatsoever, it's the only one i've ever had, it was supposed to die but it didn't, plain luck cuz i heard more than half of the xbox made around that date died off because of RRoD

BTW i almost died laughing at that idea of sending in the xbox in a PS3 box :P

Lame as this issue is completely their fault as a defect and they should cover all costs to keep the customers coming back. Luckily this has never happened to me but if it did I would have serious thoughts about keeping the system after the repair.

That's true that warranty doesn't mean that you totally destroy your thing having in mind that we will claim it to the warranty and have the new one i think its totally your misconception as company allow its customer a warranty of specific product then it has some terms and condition as well in the favor of itself too so the customer has no right to claim its producer until and unless its claim is up to the warranty requirement of the producer...........

You are a blogger first you should have manners to comment on yourself by standing in front of the mirror.....Its better to know something about Microsoft rather then talking shit without knowing anything................

I think they have to improve their customer service and try to be on their words which they commits to their respective customers which help them to increase their customer relationship and reputation..........
