I've heard that Swords and Soldiers is actually quite good. May be the first WiiWare title I buy since Tetris Party.

It looks like they've finally released something worthwhile for it, I love the mini games. Still not enough for me to get a DSi though.

Is there a reason that Minis is only on DSiWare and not a retail release? Did they only make a way to do level sharing using DSiWare as a bridge?

If so, that's disappointing. It doesn't seem like a good business move to so drastically limit your market on a Mario game of any kind. It also seems really lazy.

Actually the game is already on a retail cartridge. The DSi Ware version is a scaled down version of Mario Vs Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis.

You don't get why Nintendo might want good games on DSiWare?

Wait... so is this the Mario vs. donkey kong that was announced at E3 or not?

I thought it seemed a little too early.

@Aero: thanks for clearing that up.

@Roto13: I don't see anywhere that I said that. I said that having it be DSiWare exclusive seemed a bad choice.

The differences between this and the Mario vs DK 2 game on DS cart is very simple, really.

1. The create a level mode is still in both versions, only this version allows you to share online.

2. This version is significantly shorter. As in half the floors from the DS release.

3. Once activated, MiniMarios cannot be controlled. Unlike the DS release where you can at LEAST change direction or make them jump.

4. Of the boss levels played so far, both come directly from the DS release, which is disappointing to say the least.

In other words, if you're wanting the complete package... the DS release is still out there. This game only really has "MAOR LEVALS!" going for it since control and strategy with it, is nuetered. This game is WORTH $8. Only the DS cart release is worth the $30 asking price.

I thought the original had online level sharing, too, Shep.

Been waiting for this week for a while. Swords & Soldiers will be mine when I get home tonight! I've been keeping an eye on this one, and from all the previews I've read about it, it sounds like they have really found a new way to reinvent RTS as a side-scroller, and make it work beautifully on the Wii, with great pointer controls. Too bad that they don't have online multiplayer (its only local multiplayer), but hopefully this sells well enough for them to do another one, and put online in the next one.

The DSi getting good downloadable games? Hot diggity. Now if they can cut the $2 game themed clocks to a minimum...
