EB Games hosting huge Guitar Hero and Rock Band sale
If you're one of the few people left on this planet whose living room, den and foyer aren't littered with fake plastic instruments, it's time for your induction. EB Games is doing a huge online sale right now for slightly "worn" copies of nearly every peripheral-centric rhythm title to come out of Activision and Harmonix. Act quickly, and you can pick up the PS3 or 360 version of the Rock Band 2 SE Bundle or the PS3 or PS2 version of the Guitar Hero World Tour Band Kit plus free 3-day shipping for just $94.99.
You could also pick up the other discounted items -- the original Rock Band bundle, Guitar Hero II, Guitar Hero III and Guitar Hero Aerosmith -- but the resulting necessary architectural extension of your gaming den might strip the deal of its cost efficiency.

Maybe I should get 3 more drums for guitar hero 5.
captainprotonx @ Jun 9th 2009 5:00PM
Translation: we have stock that isn't moving.
I doubt there are hidden warehouses in salt mines guards by the 3rd Urth Dwarf Army.
MystileArmor @ Jun 9th 2009 5:17PM
More then likely a couple of pallets of these things fell or something, cause of the damaged boxes.
The Baron @ Jun 9th 2009 5:33PM
Oh great, fall-damaged instrument peripherals. They sound reliable.
TomCo @ Jun 9th 2009 5:46PM
The company line is most likely true, stuff gets lost or ignored in warehouses all the time.
Case in point, the Atari Jaguar games I picked up while back at my local when they were discovered somewhere in the stock room

Walmart has the GHWT band pack for the 360 for $99 since at least Saturday (Oddly, EBGames doesn't have the 360 pack on sale). Maybe they're trying to keep up with the lower price...
InFaMoUs1- @ Jun 9th 2009 5:01PM
I'll wait for the $50 sweet spot for the whole set
squallgengar @ Jun 9th 2009 8:08PM
So you want the game, microphone, guitar, and drums all for less than the retail price of the game itself...
Yeah, have fun with that.
Shagittarius @ Jun 9th 2009 5:03PM
2nd Translation: The run on rhythm games is over so we need to move this shit. Free shipping so expect damaged goods when you receive your package.
Duke @ Jun 9th 2009 5:09PM
Man, you go into a BB or a Gamestop and these things are stacked to the ceiling. I was wondering if they would ever realize that they had bought way too much of these games and there were only so many customers left.
wes @ Jun 9th 2009 6:31PM
More like moving old stock out to make room for new...but that's just crazy talk right?
RIGHT?
captainprotonx @ Jun 9th 2009 5:04PM
Side note. I saw this sale on Slickdeals.net at 6 AM this morning (EST).
Many of the items are out of stock online by now.
mars @ Jun 9th 2009 5:07PM
I'm thinking of buying the RB1 SE and then my friend will give me the rock band 2 disc. You guys think that the instruments of RB2 are much better/worth the extra 30 bucks?
captainprotonx @ Jun 9th 2009 5:09PM
I played the set all of a day before losing interest.
But the concensus is that the RB2 drums are superiors to the RB1 set. I can't say much about the guitar. It's plastic.
XBL: Burritoclock PSN:Herbie Hat @ Jun 9th 2009 5:12PM
RB1 stuff will break, it will ALWAYS break eventually.
Shagittarius @ Jun 9th 2009 5:20PM
RB2 drums are far superior.
jayeffaar @ Jun 9th 2009 5:41PM
I agree with the comments about the drums, but the RB1 drums were at least usable.
The RB1 guitar, on the other hand, with its mushy, imprecise strum bar, was a piece of crap and was completely unusable for fast sequences. The RB2 wireless guitar on the other hand, is very good and is my favorite plastic guitar so far.
The RB2 kit is really worth the extra dough.
jayeffaar @ Jun 9th 2009 5:42PM
...yes, I have three hands.
Bearxor @ Jun 9th 2009 6:02PM
It took me a couple of reads to get it, but when I did I lol'd.
The Baron @ Jun 9th 2009 6:03PM
If you're choosing between one or the other for your first set, RB2 definitely.
dark_inchworm (on Steam!) dark inchworm (on XBL!) @ Jun 9th 2009 5:09PM
Anything I'm interested in (RB2 and GH2 for 360) was depleted a while ago. I pondered it for several hours today, but ultimately I decided I'd rather clear off my debt to friends/family.
...which I will probably kick myself for.
Jon @ Jun 9th 2009 8:59PM
Hey i dont know if its a good thing im telling you but RB:SE for XB360 is back in stock .. i just got it after thinking i lost the deal as well
GewurztraminerX @ Jun 9th 2009 5:35PM
3rd Translation: We need room for The Beatles and Guitar Hero 5 super-mega kits (now in new colors; you do need four guitars after all now, right?)
Chad Vanderbilt (Moptimus in Disguise) @ Jun 9th 2009 5:52PM
hmmmm, surprised none of this applies to the Wii version of the games (except GHIII but I digress)
atastysammich @ Jun 9th 2009 5:57PM
Damn, of COURSE the PS2 Rock Band bundle is sold out.
superlazer @ Jun 9th 2009 6:31PM
amazon has them for $54
atastysammich @ Jun 9th 2009 6:41PM
Sold! Thanks for the tip!
Ryan @ Jun 9th 2009 6:54PM
That'll leave you plenty of money to spend on DLC..... oh wait.
The Baron @ Jun 10th 2009 6:58AM
Well, the instruments are compatible with the PS3 as well, right?
John M. @ Jun 9th 2009 7:10PM
I'm miffed to see the Xbox guitar edition of GH: World Tour is not included on the deal. Could have used a new guitar.
Johnny Neat @ Jun 10th 2009 9:50AM
Here I am trying to sale off my Limited Edition Rock Band 1 set plus extra guitar. This stuff just takes up too much room. Loved while we played it but now it's an eye sore.
Doc @ Jun 18th 2009 4:07PM
I know it's well after the fact, but I just got hosed on this deal. I jumped on it as soon as it started, I got the RB2 360 bundle while it still said "in stock". Just today, more than a week after the fact, I get a "your order has been canceled" email. I called them and they gave me all sorts of excuses about being out of stock and not having accurate inventory. I call foul. They planned and executed a "blowout sale", they knew exactly how many they had. Regardless, even after talking to managers, I walked away with nothing. They weren't willing to budge or even attempt to make it right. Booo GameStop, boooooo! Shame on them.
