much as I like the song (it seems inexplicably tied to graduations, weddings, etc), it's a ballad and would slow the pace of of a set in Rock Band.

of course, I'm brainwashed, so, I'd Buy That for a Dollar! (or two)

Greenday has all of the pretensiousness of pop and punk rolled into one. They start out somewhat in a genre that rebels against artistry, then turn around over a decade later and start churning out concept albums. At one end of their careers they were turning out apathetic sophomoric slacker quasi punk, now they switch to this semi-socially-aware rock opera thing and I am not buying it. The punk scene was talking about social and geopolitical issues of the couple of decades, and when 9/11, Iraq, and Afghanistan situations escalated there was a strong groundswell of punk speaking out. Then GreenDay shows back up with shirts, ties, and eyeliner and we are supposed to buy it all of a sudden? Sorry but I call bullshit.

Their music is easy, save for drums. Beginners learning guitar can pick up and play their entire catalogue in a week or two. Billy Joe isnt exactly known for his vocal range either.

Billie Joe is known for his lyrical ability. But you just seem to be looking for negatives, so nevermind.

Ahhh, and the Green Day hatefest begins. Ever since American Idiot they've just become one of those bands that people hate because they think it's cool.

Well, screw those people. Green Day are one of my favorite bands, and it's about damn time they got something out on GH or RB. I can't wait.

A Green Day Rock Band would suck, because all of their songs are exactly the same!

And Billie Joe is an idiot and has no business trying to make any sort of political statement. His lyrics were better when he wrote about smoking pot and jacking off.

It's almost impossible to say whether music is good or bad. It all comes down to individual taste.

However, the closest we can come to objectively deciding if music is good or bad is to look to music critics. They almost overwhelming gave favorable reviews to nearly every Green Day album.

I've been a Green Day fan since I first heard Dookie in elementary school. I'm looking forward to their Rock Band game.

And to those who bash Green Day for not being "punk" or whatever, I'm sorry you have to view everything through a lens of narrowly defined genres. Sure, maybe they aren't punk. They aren't polka, either. Who gives a rat's ass what they are?
