This would make an AMAZING MOVIE. Seriously tho, I was watching that preview and it seemed like I was watching a movie trailer. At the most all they would need is for Jack Black to de-flab and shape up and it would work haha

Ok... I'll give it the must buy awesome factor. But what's the replay value going to be?

It'll kick ass the first run through, but is there incentive to come back again and listen to the same lines again?

This is also the first Schafer game that has the chance of becoming a huge financial success. EA better advertise the shit out of it! Play this trailer on MTV a few time and it WILL sell a lot of copies, it has Jack Black and Ozzy Osbourne after all.

Or better, have a huge launch party with all kind of rock celebrities and broadcast it!
Don't fuck this shit up EA. This game deserves success.

Holy shit, I just turned on the the TV, and the local news was doing a report on E3. The first thing I heard was when you take music games like guitar hero and "so called hardcore games" you get brutal legend! Fuck yeah! Even the lovable oaf reporter thinks Brutal Legend is awesome! After that he sat in a fancy bed and twirled a boa like a "parisian hooker" when he talked about Saboteur

Sorry but the article doesn't do anything to sway my opinion of the game. It just comes off as desperate to justify the amount of undeserved hype surrounding this game.

You think it's going to be awesome because it has to do with rock n roll....really? And for all this talk of awesome gameplay and the such where are the vids to back this up? What exactly is the story here for this game?

So yeah while I can't un read your preview I can definitely file this title in the "meh" category....

Um, there was gameplay footage in the trailer man, so what if they havent released full demo videos? Those things never help anyway, you can never tell until you play it yourself. I guess you and me might have different ideas of desperate, because it sounds like Luddy is generally enthused. If you dont know the story by now either you havent been paying attention, which would also explain why you dont think it's awesome. It's not like Luddy is excited because it has a soundtrack with Rock and Roll, fuck everygame has that, he and we are excited because it's like playing what happens on an album cover

I agree Lion, as far as I can tell it's just a slash 'em up with bad jokes, an annoying actor and rock... Just saying it is really good and awesome doesn't help the 'not my thing types'

I'm not particularly hyped over this game, but I see why there is hype. It's produced by a critically acclaimed game developer, it has a fun and well known voice cast, and the previews have shown that it looks to be very funny. Even if the gameplay isn't innovative or even if it's flat out mediocre, it'll probably still be worth playing.

"We're talking about a hilarious, open-ended heavy metal epic starring Jack Black. Do you really need me to tell you it's awesome? Because, you know, it is."

I don't really like people with the, "awesome... because it is" jack black, personality. I get no stimulating thought or humor from someone running around saying things are totally "awesome" in an overly emotional tone.
This game reeks of this and will therefore pretend to sell well because it is "bone shreddingly awesome".
