Looking forward to it. Glad to see they've opened the game up a bit in terms of exploration.

Better not be another "Quest for booty" or whatever that's called.

Because Insomniac said so? A thousand times before?

Quest For Booty was a simple PSN release (although I bought it on disc, as I live in Europe) to whet our appetite while we waited for a full R&C game since Insomniac was too busy creating the Resistance franchise.

I love all the creative weapons and enemies that this series comes up with. the groove-gun or whatever it was called was sick in the ratchet and clank future: tools of destruction.

I'm pumped to see how this one comes out, but it seems good so far. I loved (what I played of) tools of destruction, and will probably love this

It's like Ratchet and Clank, but shinier. It'll be a PS3 Favorites soon though, so wait it out.

And @Autobot, I didn't mind an extra little R&C fix for $14.99.

That's just it, there aren't other games that are quite like R&C... at least none that I've played/encountered.

It's a mix of platformer and 3rd-person-shooter... but it's not Uncharted or Infamous or God of War or... heck, they're all very different.

it's similar to Jak & Daxter (Naughty Dog's series) in how it plays but it's really hard to compare it to anything i've played. it's fun, comical, creative, and it always looks and plays great. possibly my favorite series right now since the PS2 days. if you like shooters, platforming, and puzzles, you will absolutely love R&C.

i'm sure you could find a cheap copy on eBay or something by now, it's too good a game to pass up. one of the best on PS3.

3rd person shooter + puzzles + platforming, sometimes on-rails shooting, and killer boss battles, with a good story.

I'm just a little bit nervous that this franchise is getting long in it's tooth. I hope I'm wrong; except for deadlock, the franchise has been high on my fav list.

My guess the franchise was transitioned to a different core team of designers. You can sense it, the "personality" of the game has subtly changed.

Deadlocked was just uhm i dont how to put it but just not what I'd come to expect from a R&C game. It's was a failed experiment imo.. they tried to make it more "mature" -_-'

I'm a diehard R&C fan but I've yet to play any of the PS3 Future games other than a demo. I'm hoping to pick up R&C ToD and QFB after ToD price drops which is coming soon because it was added to the greatest hits line up. I'm disappointed there is no online mode anymore because it was great on Up Your Arsenal

i felt the same way about arsenal as I did about deadlocked, it didnt seem to have the same pizazz or personality as the others, a lot of the humor seemed to be gone and it was a little too non linear, the story was also waaaay thinner than other ones.

I liked Deadlocked myself. Yeah, I missed the traditional levels and as Wayne says the story was pretty thin, but I thought the arena battles were pretty fun. Plus it had more challenging platforming than any of the others. Some of those sequences between battle areas were somewhat challenging. I can understand why a lot of people were turned off by the departure from the previous games though. I definitely would not have wanted the series to stay that way, but I found the brief change refreshing.

If everyone just waits for it to price drop, it's sales might not be very good and a sequel may not be made.

no one has pointed out the typo yet? o_O

"a few, well-placed globs of nectar will by Ratchet enough time to sneak past a deadly swarm of tetramites, for example."

I assume you mean "will buy Ratchet" not "will by Ratchet"

Too bad the series is an Inconsistent, incoherent, mediocre piece of crap that doesn't even have a canonical storyline.

The first 2 titles were one of the bests on the PS2.

Then they thought reintroducing the same gameplay and weapons, plus completely neglecting the already established storyline would be a cool thing to do.

But no.

This is not art.

This is corporate toilet paper.

LOL HES A LOMBAX, NOW THERE'S A FEMALE LOMBAX, WHOOPS NOW THERE NEVER WAS A FEMALE LOMBAX, IF YOU EVER THOUGHT DIFFERENTLY YOU ARE STUPID, AND BTW RATCHET GOES THROUGH 18 GIRLFRIENDS BETWEEN EACH ADVENTURE AND ABANDONS ALL ALLIES HE MEETS.

ISNT MY STORYLINE JUST EPIC?

Ratchet goes through all those girlfriends only because he as a kind of Michael Knight x KITT type of relationship with Clank, if you know what I mean.

Tekken Devil kind of has a point though...

I thought Ratchet met at least one other female Lombax? Or were they just close enough subspecies (second cousins kind of) so that it wouldn't be awkward to create a relationship between them?

Anyway, Tools of Destruction didn't do it for me in terms of a R&C sequel, but looking at this upcoming title's superb visuals and plot line I might finally get back into that Universe.

the whole rachet series is great. proof of the 1st ps3 one to be great is not only the reviews but the fact that its price have been 55-60 for a long time now. if not still 55-60 dollars at most stores.

I have to admit not digging this series until i finished `Future`, the first levels are meh but when you get most weapons and upgrades, as well as the plot develops, the fun factor escalates considerably.
