We haven't had anything related to Kodu (not to be confused with Kudo) to excite us since early January, but, thankfully, we now know that this month is bringing us more than ridiculously hot weather. Courtesy of the Kodu dev blog, we know that the game will release sometime in June, however an exact date is something that needs to be ironed out.
If you're finding your memory of Kodu is a bit fuzzy, then refresh it with this video of Microsoft flagrantly ignoring child labor laws.

Cool...last I heard this was coming in September. Looks like the timeline got moved up some. Should be interesting to see what people create with this.

Kodu was introduced as being a part of the community games initiative. Doesn't it seem like Microsoft has otherwise abandoned community games?

My thoughts exactly. Is this for XBLA or Community Games? It seems odd that they would banish it to the Community Game channel after the big showing at CES.

Honestly, this looks terrible. There only seem to be simple conditions and actions, seems like you're stuck with one type of game, one camera viewpoint... Which isn't good for the type of application this claims to be.

"Kodu is a new visual programming language made specifically for creating games. It is designed to be accessible for children and enjoyable for anyone."
Taken from the Kodu page on ms research website. THAT is what Kodu claims to be, and it looks like they're doing a good job of creating exactly that. Since it doesn't seem to be living up to your expectations though, what did you think it was claiming to be?
