I think a senior vice president of EA has more knowledge and cred than a Xbox fanboy, so if he says its maxed out sorry fanboys its maxed out. Makes me laugh reading fanboys making excuses when they never developed a game for either console lol.

I would hope, that after 4 years or so, developers are getting everything out of the 360 hardware that is possible. Not sure why this is viewed as being a bad thing.

We all know the PS3 is more powerful, in certain areas, than the 360 but is also harder to develop games for. Maybe is Sony's way of extending its console - it will take longer to "max out" and games look a little better every year at the expense of developers hairless heads.

Besides, I'm having a lot of fun with my Wii - I play it more than my 360 lately, so its not all about the hardware.

Ps3 is not "more powerful" both consoles are about equal, 360 has a much better gpu and ps3 has a better cpu, 360 has more usable memory for games, but ps3's memory is slightly faster. 360 has the graphical edge, but ps3 has the physics edge.

The main advantage Sony has over MS is their first party, those guys make games exclusively for the ps3, so they build their engines for the ps3 ground up.

MS' problem is their best asset; XNA. XNA makes it so easy to port games from pc and incorporate middleware engines into xna that no developer wants to bother making a engine ground up. The truth of the matter is that without XNA the 360 is almost as hard to develop for as the ps3.

The only developers to ever create a engine ground up for the 360 are Rare and Turn 10. Banjo N&B is the most graphically amazing game out there, with its huge draw distance, high rez textures, great physics, and particle effects, not only that it was a budget title.

Now you have Forza 3, F3 has some of the looking cars out there, high rez textures, the best racing physics of any racer, and a good draw distance. The reason F3 looks sooooo much better than forza 2 is because forza 2 was made with the updated forza 1 engine ported to 360, like halo 3 and its engine. Turn 10 took 2 years to create this engine, and f3 could look better but MS wants F3 to ship this year.

i agree that the 360 is getting to that point of being maxed out, yet i still think it has excellent potential. i mean like, did anyone watch E3? some of the stuff theyre coming out with is insane . forza 3, "natal",metal gear, facebook, twitter; the lineup is just incredible. im just saying i dont think EA knows everything about gaming, plus if anything bill gates will release a 360 with all updated stuff. i dont know, just wanted to voice my opinion on this topic

Only on a video game blog can a discussion about the 360 being "maxed out" (Nice vauge comment there, BTW.) turn into a Sony hand job. Really people, stick to the topic. We don't care if you have a friend of a friend that lives close to Kaz and he heard him say that a game developer's friend's daughter's uncle said the cell could create life like graphics, cure cancer, and increase your intelligence by 1000%. You should be pointing out the BS in this statement instead of drinking the koolaid made by your company of choice.

There are probley 5 people here that know how the damn Cell works in relation to graphics and processing. In fact, I believe these same people are trolling here... I should join them. Ok! Forget what I said, here is my new statement:

Implementing parallel graphical processing ideology using the technology of the Cell in the PS3 can you only achieve high quality graphics like that of Killzone 2. Anything else, like the basic PC parts that make up the 360 and Wii, can not pull this off because, as compared to the number of cores in the 360 and wii, both are out numbered by the PS3's amazing 7 cores running at 3.2GHZ each! In theory, the combined power of this processor is a staggering 25.6GHZ, including the control PPC core that runs at 3.2GHZ also. With all this power, you can use the Cell, in conjunction with the GPU, to create graphics that are beyond life-like.

You can only get this kind of power on Playstation 3. PLAY B3YOND

I seriously doubt this - just wait til Halo:Reach comes out and you see what a group of game devs that know what they're doing can accomplish. EA is a joke as far as pushing hardware - they probably think you shouldn't have to compress graphics and crap like that.

Or, look at what Bungie was able to do on on the original Xbox with Halo 2 - it's almost as good as most first gen games for the 360 even though it was made for a previous generation system.

Wait, nobody makes hardware calls on the xbox hardware do they? So what does this guy know about possible improvments in low level programing of the processors MS may do in the future to make who know's what available?

HA! This article makes me laugh. All the hardware in the world doesn't make a bit if difference if you don't know who your audience is. MS did an outstanding job at E3 cause they know the direction they are going in. Hardcore gamers and casual alike.. Xbox includes and has something for everyone. Sony (while having an impressive piece of machinery) is still trying to find it's identity. Seems to me they have more to worry about than (supposedly) having the best hardware. It's been said over and over again.. but their AAA 1st party titles fade as fast as last weeks box office hit at the theaters. So far, that hardware hasn't done much to further their console outside of pretty graphics. I thought KZ2 was suppose to be a system seller?

Since when does EA try to excel at making games anyway without a new year or number attached to it? Nice comment. They are known for milking franchises.. not being the innovators. Besides the fact that pretty games don't make them fun. KZ2 is pretty gorgeous but controls like crap imo. Sony has an impressive number of exclusives.. but that's their selling point and it still only targets the hardcore. MS isn't just looking at graphics and franchises. Look at what they are doing with their services. It's working for them too. PS3 is last gen's xbox. Better hardware.. but still targeted at the hardcore. I'm not saying it's a bad system.. don't get me wrong. But they sure don't know who their audience is.. and hardware won't take care of that.

This comment makes me laugh.
Anything said by an EA suit should be taken with a grain of salt.

When it comes down to whether I like a game, graphics are the least of my worries. The visually superior KZ2 wasn't nearly as fun as Halo 3. While Uncharted was more fun than Gears 2. All Imo.

If it isn't fun, it won't be in my PS3/360 games library
