Okay, MrSpaceCowboy, you have a valid argument, but your aguing based on opinion. see Van Halen HAS to do with music, and actual guitars and singing. Legos are toys, and an exploited brand that has nothing to do with music. I love legos! but to make Lego this and Lego that is just unneccessary exploitation in my opinion.

however, if you think a van halen guitar hero would be stupid cause they're ugly guys, then THAT'S fine!! that's your opinion, cause you can like chocolate while I like vanilla.

So, the puns came first when choosing these songs, huh? "Brick" is one of the most depressing songs in the world. Why would anyone want to play that at a party? Also, the piano is the main instrument in the song and you can't even play it.

How about just importing?

Yeah, I said this before, it does not make sense to allow exporting, since that would cannibalize sales of the new game as you could just basically rent or borrow the LEGO game to get all the new songs. I think it will be a crime if they don't allow importing though, as I would gladly switch to a new background to spice things up while still playing all the songs I've bought and love.

They could even *gasp* give you the option to import or not, or include an optional import filter to only allow LEGO approved previous songs to come into the game so that the kids won't be subject to the adult content from some of the risque-er songs.

But I kind of agree, I'll be much less inclined to buy this if it's limited to just the included setlist. I've come to terms with that for the Beatles game, because, well, they're the fucking Beatles, but I don't NEED to play the Final Countdown.

Lego games kind of make me sad, even though they're usually perfectly good games. :(

All they need to do is replace the head of the Strat' with a head covered in Lego studs. That way the guitar is not changed but I can add my own "flair" to the head of the guitar... Like if I wanted my Lego Darth Vader on there, I would just snap him on... ok I'll stop before I get carried away...

In addition to being able to customize your rocker like a minifig, it would be neat if you could build your stage set out of Lego bricks.

Just make sure you get the scale right when you build your Stonehenge set.

Or don't, as it would be equally hilarious to have Godzilla-sized rockers stomping around Stonehenge. Hell, one of the monoliths could be a mic-stand, another a drum throne, etc.

I may be in the minority (based on the comments here), but I'm really looking forward to this game. I've loved the Lego games to date, and now my favorite game gets Lego-ized! Can't wait!!!

Only good if the actual, physical controller is made from Lego, or at least has the nodules on it so you can stick actual Lego bricks to it.

I can't tell from the picture, but are the music notes Lego Blocks or not?? I mean they HAVE to be Lego blocks, it would be utter madness if they weren't..

How is it that in an article about Rock Band, people still complain about Activision whoring out a franchise? Harmonix/EA is just as guilty.

GH3 --> RB1
GH:WT --> RB2
GH: On Tour (too many of these) --> RB Unplugged
GH: Aerosmith --> AC/DC RB Track Pack (closest fit? GH Aerosmith is a glorified track pack)
GH: Metallica --> Beatles RB
GH: Smash Hits --> RB Track Pack Vol. 1, 2, Classic Rock (at least Activision releases one "best of" disc, to date, anyway)
etc...

Not exact equivalents, but close enough. Bottom line, they're both whores.

I'm sick of all of the negative comments.

Not everyone likes rock music, some of us like songs that are more like pop music. But we also find rhythem games fun. And so this game fills that niche very well. I myself hate the tracklist on gutiar hero/rock band because its got way too much "heavy" rock music for my tastes.

What is so wrong with this game? Its pretty damn cool. Plus the art style of the legos fits nicely with the light hearted song choices.

This is one of my most anticipated games. I just hope it has the same difficulty levels.
