Koei decides against Warriors Orochi Z for cross Pacific release
How unfair is it that Warriors Orochi Z isn't coming to North America?! So unfair, especially since the first 25 games, known as Warriors Orochi A-Y, were such major hits here. OK, clearly we know nothing about the series, but it seemed worth mentioning Siliconera's confirmation that the compilation won't make it across the Pacific.
Actually we do know a little something about Warriors Orochi Z: when it released in Japan, it beat down Resident Evil 5 on the sales charts. Our condolences go out to the unspecified number of people devastated by Z news. There's always importing -- and learning Japanese.

What's with the sudden abundance of Warriors news?
Alex @ Jun 10th 2009 4:50PM
Well, this saddens me. Even less of a chance of getting a 360 port of it =/
michael @ Jun 10th 2009 7:41PM
The Xbox 360 already that, it's called Warriors Orochi 1 and 2. Why do you need a 360 port of this game when you already have both 1 and 2 for the 360.
Alex @ Jun 10th 2009 9:20PM
It's not entirely the same at all since they added a few new characters and scenarios to Orochi X
Cosmo @ Jun 10th 2009 5:11PM
Damn, I'm hoping for a PC release since Warriors Orochi 1 came to PC, not the best port though.
I haven't played a Warriors game since Dynasty Warriors 4 but want to give that mindless hack and slashing a go again. : )
Big D. @ Jun 10th 2009 5:22PM
LOL @ first 25 games A-Y
Xeones25 @ Jun 10th 2009 5:48PM
Darn, I wanted a good Dynasty Warriors game for the PS3 and the Warriors Orochi games seem to be a bit higher quality than any of the Dynasty Warriors games.
I don't have the slightest bit of interest in the Troy game they are making.
Nozzinja @ Jun 10th 2009 5:49PM
Damnit! another game im gonna import!
Demon souls and now Warriors Orochi Z... With the right marketing in the "west" these games COULD be huge!
Jason B. @ Jun 10th 2009 5:52PM
Demon Souls is coming in North America. You might be in Europe though.
Nozzinja @ Jun 10th 2009 7:36PM
Yep. I had to resort to ebay bids... I hate ebay bids lol.
develintales667 @ Jun 12th 2009 1:43AM
Just in case you didn't know them yet, Play-asia.com will have the American version and had the asian version for a good price. Just sold out too fast.
Neo Asuma @ Jun 10th 2009 5:58PM
And I just imported this game from eBay yesterday. I heard from other forums that Koei wasn't bringing this game over here anyway, but they are putting Warriors Orochi Z additions (characters, scenarios, etc.) on the PSP version of Warriors Orochi 2.
Sad news indeed...
Aeikozz @ Jun 10th 2009 6:22PM
wow... they can't even do like a On Demand kinda of thing for the new feature on the 360?
Andreas @ Jun 10th 2009 7:03PM
"Warriors Orochi Z" is anyway Crap, garbage and rubbish!
The new announced KOEI games "Warriors Legends of Troy" and "Trinity: Souls of Zill O'll" are much better than "Warriors Orochi Z" !
michael @ Jun 10th 2009 7:43PM
Excuse me,
This is the superior version to all the other Warriors Orochi game. This is the one that should have been release in the US.
Damon @ Jun 10th 2009 7:11PM
What? Why? I was gonna get this! It has EVERY SINGLE warriors character EVER in ONE GAME! I've never been a huge warriors fan, but for a completionist like me getting all the characters i've been hacking away with on and off for years in one package was a dream come true.
Dammit! Well, maybe there will be an orochi warriors 3 with the bladestorm characters mixed in. One can always hope.
... And the gundams too.
tyetheczar @ Jun 15th 2009 5:15PM
You don't need to give them condolence. All they need is a point and a good 'ol HA-HA! in their faces. Same goes to all the fools overseas who buy all of that junk-on-a-disc. Seriously - are all Japanese gamers THAT stupid?
Quattro @ Jun 10th 2009 7:16PM
Looks like I'll have to import it. What a joke.
michael @ Jun 10th 2009 7:40PM
What!!! Why!!! You allowed Dynasty Warriors: Empire and Xtreme Legends in the US, but not this game. I hope this is a rumor and a lie. Come on, Koei. This is probably the one everybody wants to play if they have a PS3. Koei, change your mind now. Everybody is going to protest this.
Chris @ Sep 23rd 2009 11:40AM
Eh...I'll wait til I heard the words coming out of Koei's mouth...after all these years, and all the different versions of the Warriors games..now they get gunshy about bring over another newer version of the same game?....doesn't sound right to me
Doug @ Jun 11th 2009 12:14PM
So...what exactly are we missing out on here?
Orochi Z is just Orochi 1 + 2 + some extra characters? (what, 2 or 3?)
I played through Orochi 1 pretty quickly, but Orochi 2 is requiring a lot more mindless grinding to unlock the later stages.
My main complaint about the games is the lack of story lines. Orochi 1 had 4, and Orochi 2 has 5. Meanwhile, DW6 had somewhat unique stories for every character (a lot of shared stages and cutscenes)
