See that's the problem... PS3 owners should own an Xbox 360... PS3 is a nice compliment to an Xbox 360... not a substitute.

Actually, you got that backwards. The 360 is a somewhat compliment to the PS3.

But huh.. No, no, actually, it's not that way either.

If you have a PS3, you don't need another console to compliment it. PS3 is the pinnacle of gaming :D

Who are you kidding? What kind of hyperbole are you listening too? Every single Multiplatform game performs better on the Xbox 360... the only reason to ever own a PS3 is for Exclusive games... and even those unfortunately might need to make compromises, as in there is no scaler in the PS3, so if you can't except 720p you are screwed down to 480p...

Doesn't matter to me either way, I'm not buying another Actiblizzard game until they stop being such douchebags. I'm really having a hard time wanting MW2. I want the game and want to support Infinity Ward, but not Activision.

Buy L4D2, boycott Activision.

I have Prototype for the PS3. Our local EB got it a day early and i have been playing it since monday. The game runs just fine no problems at all. I wonder if it has to do with models of PS3s. I have an original 60 gig model which I upgraded the hard drive to 320 gigs. I popped the disc in and it started loading itself onto the hard drive and created the save for a new game and I was up and running in about 5 mins. The game's pretty fun and I finished inFamous just in time to start this one off. Wonder what the real issue is?

Sony really needs to take their gaming console more seriously by restructuring the internal software of the console, along with their online components, but that's for a different topic. Forcing PS3 owners to install a game is simply retarded. It took me 45 minutes to install and download the latest updates for Socom: Confrontation. After all was said and done I really wasn't in the mood to play the game anymore. With that said, the games for the system are a blast, once you can play them. It's just the inconsistencies which prevents the console from being user friendly is what irritates me the most.

Sony didn't publish prototype. KZ2 & Uncharted don't have any installs what-so-ever. It comes down to the developer and mandatory installs are usually the cheap and easy way out. I would imagine the alleged redesigned PS3 Slim will probably have faster access drives. Waiting 45 minutes to download a game patch (I have Confrontation) probably has more to do with network congestion and/or your internet speed at the time.

RE: Alistair Azimuth PSN: johnnynumber5

I was mentioning with Socom: Confrontation that with installing the game and then downloading the mandatory updates it took me 45 minutes.

As for installs themselves it needs to change soon regardless if the developer or publisher is doing it. To me it sounds like Sony requires these installs for certain games as there were alot of complaints back in the PS2 days of long load times and they've simply stuck with that (the installs) for the PS3. Developers don't really need to have mandatory installs on they're products and why would they unless the console manufacturer is requiring it. Developers, all they care about is if they're product works regardless of the speed in which it loads. That is the manufacturers problem not the developers.

This is the kind of things that you don't expect on a console. PC games, yeah, patch away. But on consoles? Come on. Obviously it's just lazy developers.

Yeah I bought Prototype for the PS3 and was able to play it 5min after I got home and installed it. I really don't know what the issue is, but i'll tell you one thing, the game is awesome. I almost feel like its GTA meets Devil May Cry sort of play. Also, running up buildings and jumping off of them never gets old.

Anyways, i'm happy I waited for Prototype as I did not have enough money to purchase both games.

Now, I understand why the Uncharted 2 Beta was included... so you can have it downloaded and installed prior to Prototype's release and delete it to get the game to work.

Okay, now that I have been playing Prototype for a little bit I can say that thus far It's a really good game. It has what many games are missing nowadays...FUN.

IMO the graphics look fine and I haven't run across any glitches thus far. It runs smooth and the action is fast but it does have a level of depth to it that I'm just now starting to scratch. You have many different ways to tackle a given situation and no matter how you choose to do it it's fun.

Alex moves around his environment ALLOT smoother than Cole. He moves faster and it's more fun to use your parkour style movements in the city. Want to run up a wall or building? Just hold R2 and aim in the direction you want to go and your golden. Combine that with cool aerial movements and you have a pretty fun game.

I can't say for sure about everything, but, thus far I'm having more fun with Prototype than I did with inFAMOUS. This isn't to say that I didn't like inFAMOUS, I loved it, especially the story, it's a very polished package. With that being said, so is Prototype.

Oh and to that the guy who wondered "who would get this on PS3 if you already have inFAMOUS, just get it on 360" that was my original plan but my 360 died the day before Prototype was released so I have to send it off (E74). One thing is for sure, whenever MS releases their next console, I'm going to think long and hard about being their 1st day. I always have, for every console that's hit our shores, but this is ridiculous. If only the hardware was as good as the software/services. This is my 3rd 360 that's died of which 2 (including this one) are the Halo3 special editions.

Sigh..

well, lets see...I've encounted freezing bugs that I can't consistently recreate. There is a bug where when landing on a moving subway you will start to "hop" across the ground and slowly phase through the world to your death. I've encountered numerous random items where, when punched, will kill you. Such as a mailbox, or sometimes the pallets. There are some others i can't think of at this exact point in time.
