Green Day DLC packs coming to Rock Band

Before you lose your mind, take heart! More (hopefully earlier) material from the band is coming on an unannounced date. Can we request "All By Myself"?

Does anyone else feel that new Green Day music makes them hate old Green Day? I used to love Green Day and now they're right behind U2 as my least favorite bands.
Haohmaru (PSN - DimmuBurgerKing XBL - A Real Puppet ) @ Jun 11th 2009 5:23PM
I hear you loud and clear. I loved Dookie and Insomniac, and their Lookout! Records days were awesome. After that, they sort of became "just another pop band" to me.
Jose @ Jun 11th 2009 5:39PM
Yeah, they're in the same boat as bands that used to rock with AFI,Alkaline Trio, Rise Against and most of my other favorite 90s punk and post-punk bands.
U2, on the other hand, was never any good :P
Hopper @ Jun 11th 2009 5:48PM
I completely agree with Rise Against. I saw them in 2005 and it was a great, but now hearing all this "butt-rock" stuff they keep rapidly unloading onto the radio I'm kind of upset I enjoyed that show.
I remember when American Idiot came out and it was supposed to be this "big politcal message" to Americans and then I see them on the Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Awards and they're playing that song while getting drenched in green slime. It was definitely a facepalm moment for me.
Jose @ Jun 11th 2009 6:00PM
I'm so excited, I'm going to burst: I'm going to see 88 Fingers Louie (band that broke up to form Rise Against and Alkaline Trio to name a couple bands) in Chicago in August. One night reunion show FTW, spending $350+ (I live in CA, gotta fly) on a punk show; not so much.
Matt @ Jun 11th 2009 7:20PM
Yeah. I used to love Green Day, but imho, their new CD sucks. I don't know what changed but I don't like it.
John Jecker @ Jun 11th 2009 5:21PM
Yeah. I agree.American Idiot was where they dropped off for me. Dookie was by far their best album.
maveric101 @ Jun 11th 2009 7:45PM
they need to stop being so political.
Shagittarius @ Jun 11th 2009 5:22PM
No one was lookin...
I was thinking of Justin McElroy.
Saria the Cat @ Jun 11th 2009 5:22PM
Aww, where is the Dookie and Nimrod love? :(
Dirty @ Jun 11th 2009 5:44PM
When you say it, it sounds so sexy.
Jose @ Jun 11th 2009 6:07PM
@dirty. You're a bastard! I can't even hear anything, must be same reason I can't watch the J-stiq video podcast.
Anyway, hey dirty; baby I got your money. Don't worry.
Dirty @ Jun 11th 2009 7:18PM
she said nimrod love... I found it sexy. It that so wrong?

Walri coming on to women of my species makes my humors all choleric! If that makes me a walrusist, then I guess I'm that.
Saria the Cat @ Jun 11th 2009 7:52PM
@Jose: I don't know, your avatar looks more like a Furby and I'm definitely not one of those!
Jose @ Jun 11th 2009 8:12PM
I forgot I wasn't people...
Mr Freeze (Rehabilitation FTW) @ Jun 11th 2009 5:22PM
Why does it seem like it is cool for rock dudes to put on black eye liner? Their femininity is really showing
charlie b. @ Jun 11th 2009 5:25PM
i tend to question the masculinity of guys who take issue with other guys who are comfortable with femininity.
PR0F3TA @ Jun 11th 2009 5:41PM
you question guys who question why a grown ass man is wearing eye shadow.
i question you.
Shmil @ Jun 11th 2009 5:53PM
well you're questioning the guy who questions the masculinity of a guy who questions rockers with eyeliner. Now the question is... which question will be answer first?
Dr. steve brule (formerly ronald.raygun) @ Jun 11th 2009 5:54PM
i question guys who question guys who question guys who question the masculinity of men who wear mascara.
Shmil @ Jun 11th 2009 5:56PM
?
charlie b. @ Jun 11th 2009 6:11PM
i'm questioning the validity of this conversation.
Martin @ Jun 11th 2009 6:42PM
Awesome Answers DLC Pack - $5
Thx.
The Baron @ Jun 11th 2009 6:47PM
EYE SHADOW ON MEN IS BIZARRE AT BEST
there, I said it.
charlie b. @ Jun 11th 2009 6:54PM
@The Baron: it's not eyeshadow, it's eyeliner. not that i we--*head asplodes*
Kizzle @ Jun 11th 2009 7:09PM
charlie b. is clearly a "conflicted" person
HSOL @ Jun 11th 2009 7:56PM
Because it's FABULOUS!
Supino @ Jun 11th 2009 5:22PM
I've just learned (after 30 hours training) to play the drums on medium - I fear Green Day will ruin my pride..
Shagittarius @ Jun 11th 2009 5:25PM
Download The Megadeth album...you can feel bad right now without waiting for the Greenday DLC.
Dahk @ Jun 11th 2009 5:33PM
Greenday lines are really simple... probably the easiest for a new player on a real instrument. I wouldn't imagine it would make you go down a level =P.
"Patiently waits for inclusion of Jeremy Taggart's insane drumming on One Man Army"
tmacairjordan87 @ Jun 11th 2009 5:52PM
"Download The Megadeth album"
Seriously, I shattered my kick pedal trying to play Good Mourning/Black Friday on expert.
Sly [PSN SniperChameleon] @ Jun 11th 2009 6:05PM
yeah, i'm not the biggest fan of green day ever, but tre cool is a fantastic drummer.
Viridium @ Jun 11th 2009 7:00PM
Sly speaks the truth.
The Baron @ Jun 11th 2009 7:27PM
Just never buy the Megadeth album, or Sleepwalker ever. I'm a huge Megadeth fan outside of Rock Band, but I completely regret spending over a fiver on something which has no fun value whatsoever, short of watching somebody else try to do it and fail.
NoahTheDuke @ Jun 11th 2009 10:59PM
Baron, you're silly. Sleepwalker is one of my favorite songs. It's really really easy once you figure out the 3/4 time pedal work. Like, stupid easy. The second solo is tricky, but nothing trickier than WGFA.
Douche Bigalow @ Jun 11th 2009 5:23PM
I remember being in Canada and seeing a gigantic banner on Yonge Street for that album cover - a big "American Idiot" for everyone to laugh and cheer over. That so perfectly sums up the type of smug a-hole who thinks Green Day is relevant or cool.
Shmil @ Jun 11th 2009 5:25PM
I liked Greenday. I was never a huge fan or anything but I thought there music was good. Until I realized that Blvd of Broken Dreams is just Wonderwall by Oasis. That just made me loose faith in them, but i like their old stuff.
Its kinda like Tom Cruise. He was once a well respected actor but as soon as he showed a bit of happiness (jumping on a couch yelling he's in love) people said he was crazy. Then they hated all of his old movies.
superklye @ Jun 11th 2009 5:29PM
For what it's worth, I *always* hated Tom Cruise
Shmil @ Jun 11th 2009 5:35PM
fair enough but with some of his old roles like in A Few Good Men or Jerry Maguire, Cocktail, or hell even Legend, its hard to say he's a terrible actor.
aristokrat @ Jun 11th 2009 5:42PM
Legend is by far one of the weirdest movies I've ever seen.
Supino @ Jun 11th 2009 5:43PM
well, that has a +1 value from me
Shmil @ Jun 11th 2009 5:51PM
Weirderst? Or most fantastic! Tim Curry as the demon devil guy! And goblins that only speak in rhymes. its like watching leprechaun without having to watch leprechaun.
McWeen @ Jun 11th 2009 6:15PM
I thought he was pretty solid in Eyes Wide Shut also.
Ouroboros @ Jun 11th 2009 5:29PM
Anyone who likes Green Day hates music.
They need to go away forever.
GewurztraminerX @ Jun 11th 2009 5:40PM
good luck with that
Inect @ Jun 11th 2009 5:44PM
Not saying i like them but there better then all the generic top 40 stuff right now.
Well there old music is.
I can't believe how bad some top 40 songs are.
Dirty @ Jun 11th 2009 5:46PM
Anyone who likes Dane Cook hates comedy.
Dr. steve brule (formerly ronald.raygun) @ Jun 11th 2009 5:56PM
anyone who likes snakes on a plane LOOOOVES movies
