Does anyone else feel that new Green Day music makes them hate old Green Day? I used to love Green Day and now they're right behind U2 as my least favorite bands.

I hear you loud and clear. I loved Dookie and Insomniac, and their Lookout! Records days were awesome. After that, they sort of became "just another pop band" to me.

Yeah, they're in the same boat as bands that used to rock with AFI,Alkaline Trio, Rise Against and most of my other favorite 90s punk and post-punk bands.

U2, on the other hand, was never any good :P

I completely agree with Rise Against. I saw them in 2005 and it was a great, but now hearing all this "butt-rock" stuff they keep rapidly unloading onto the radio I'm kind of upset I enjoyed that show.

I remember when American Idiot came out and it was supposed to be this "big politcal message" to Americans and then I see them on the Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Awards and they're playing that song while getting drenched in green slime. It was definitely a facepalm moment for me.

I'm so excited, I'm going to burst: I'm going to see 88 Fingers Louie (band that broke up to form Rise Against and Alkaline Trio to name a couple bands) in Chicago in August. One night reunion show FTW, spending $350+ (I live in CA, gotta fly) on a punk show; not so much.

Yeah. I used to love Green Day, but imho, their new CD sucks. I don't know what changed but I don't like it.

Anyway, hey dirty; baby I got your money. Don't worry.

Greenday lines are really simple... probably the easiest for a new player on a real instrument. I wouldn't imagine it would make you go down a level =P.

Just never buy the Megadeth album, or Sleepwalker ever. I'm a huge Megadeth fan outside of Rock Band, but I completely regret spending over a fiver on something which has no fun value whatsoever, short of watching somebody else try to do it and fail.

Baron, you're silly. Sleepwalker is one of my favorite songs. It's really really easy once you figure out the 3/4 time pedal work. Like, stupid easy. The second solo is tricky, but nothing trickier than WGFA.

I remember being in Canada and seeing a gigantic banner on Yonge Street for that album cover - a big "American Idiot" for everyone to laugh and cheer over. That so perfectly sums up the type of smug a-hole who thinks Green Day is relevant or cool.

I liked Greenday. I was never a huge fan or anything but I thought there music was good. Until I realized that Blvd of Broken Dreams is just Wonderwall by Oasis. That just made me loose faith in them, but i like their old stuff.

Its kinda like Tom Cruise. He was once a well respected actor but as soon as he showed a bit of happiness (jumping on a couch yelling he's in love) people said he was crazy. Then they hated all of his old movies.

fair enough but with some of his old roles like in A Few Good Men or Jerry Maguire, Cocktail, or hell even Legend, its hard to say he's a terrible actor.
