Do you know the enemy?
Do you know your enemy?
Well, gotta know the enemy

Do you know the enemy?
Do you know your enemy?
Well, gotta know the enemy

Do you know the enemy?
Do you know your enemy?
Well, gotta know the enemy

Violence is an energy
Against the enemy
Violence is an energy

Bringing on the fury
The choir infantry
Revolt against the honor to obey

Overthrow the effigy
The vast majority
Burning down the foreman of control

Silence is the enemy
Against your urgency
So rally up the demons of your soul

Do you know the enemy?
Do you know your enemy?
Well, gotta know the enemy

Do you know the enemy?
Do you know your enemy?
Well, gotta know the enemy

The insurgency will rise
When the bloods been sacrificed
Don't be blinded by the lies
In your eyes

Violence is an energy
From here to eternity
Violence is an energy
Silence is the enemy
So gimme gimme revolution

Do you know the enemy?
Do you know your enemy?
Well, gotta know the enemy

Do you know the enemy?
Do you know your enemy?
Well, gotta know the enemy

Overthrow the effigy
The vast majority
Burning down the foreman of control

Silence is the enemy
Against your urgency
So rally up the demons of your soul

actually those are the lyrics. Its ok if you dont like the song, hell its not my favorite either but it is a very punk song, I could list a ton of songs from all genres that are just as, or much more repetitive than that.

I don't know if I'd say it's a 'punk' song either, though. At least, it doesn't sound very. 'Flat' is how I'd describe it.

Listen to more Ramones, Screeching Weasel, pre-Nimrod Green Day, Leatherface, and Jack Palance Band. Then listen to Pinhead Gunpowder - Billie Joe's OTHER band, the one that's still good - and then tell me if "Minority" still sounds "punk." :P

"F.O.D.," "She," "Welcome to Paradise," and "J.A.R." Hell, Dookie in its entirety. I'd buy that. The kids can call me a hater all they want, but Green Day was fuckawesome back then. Now they're Good Charlotte.

Umm its definetly a punk song. I agree it is kind of repetitive (like a lot of punk music, that was the point in early punk rock fyi) but not more so than a lot of metal today. I do kind of agree with flat as well. Im still surprised that they used it as thier first single. All that being said I still like it just not as much as a lot of thier other songs. Anywayy cant see how this won't be fun in a drunken rock band party, compared to some of the garbage ( yeah you radiohead) thats on there this will be awsome.

p.s. radiohead is the most overated piece of crap in existance ( I know Im in the minority and have no good reason to point it out but I did, Because it's the intertubes and I can.)

Oh c'mon, Good Charlotte? Thats a real low blow. I love Greenday, I like the new sound it still has punk songs in it its just that it has a lot more. who is talking about minority? Warning was my least fav. album, still enjoyed it but didnt think it was great. Good Charlotte is garbage. Always has been and always will be. To be honest Greenday is probably the most successful band I listen to.

Oh and Pinhead is awesome. ever hear the Net work, Greendays other, other band? Not as cool as pinhead, not punk at all, and certainly wierd as hell but worth listening to for laughs at least.

Now, the Network I do like. I wouldn't describe them as "punk" either, but that doesn't matter. I actually have pretty eclectic taste in music ranging from classical to jazz to punk to various subgenres of metal. Green Day's newer offerings just don't appeal to me, that's all.

Hopefully, if they do decide to release a Rock Band: Green Day or something of the sort, they'll include some Pinhead and Network. Maybe even some other bands from that era of Lookout Records! It would be surreal to hear a Screeching Weasel song in a video game, but I wouldn't bet on it as Ben Weasel is far too surly and.. well, Ben Weasel-ish to allow something like that to happen. XD

To everyone who *thinks* their own taste in music is eclectic... I'll let you know right now it is not.

Oh and no I expect everyone to have thier own opinion. Also if you don't agree with me it dosn't mean your not thinking for yourself it just means your not as smart as me...... J/K. In all honesty Im just tired of all the "hardcore" punks slamming Greenday now that they are HUGE. Most of these same people were listening to them before but now that lots of people like them they call em sellouts or whatever. Punks are like that, the same happened with Blink even though I never was a huge fan, I never hated them. Everyone loves to crap on the big dogs I guess. Hell Im all for people not liking greenday as long as I can hate radiohead with every once of blood I have, then its fair I guess.

However musicly Greenday is far beyond what they used to be. They have crafted thier musicianship over the years and are better musicians for it. That can not really be argued.

This may come as a shocker, but it IS possible to play a real instrument AND dick around with your friends on Rock Band and enjoy both. I'd prefer for all of my friends to learn how to play, but not everyone has the time or inclination to do that. Instead of being a stuck up prick, I'm able to understand that and have fun when they want to come over and play some Rock Band.

These will be very boring. Green Day has not progressed musically for years. What a bunch of talentless money grabbers.

This is what happens when you stay together for so long. Green Day should disband now then people will retain the good memories haha.
