Look, guys and gals, there is a crazy sale going on right now. If you're observant and like to read post titles before you
dive right in to the meaty body of text you're reading right this second, then you already know the score:
Peggle on the iPhone is only $1 for a limited time. Seriously, it's only a buck up until midnight, June 14. We're talking about one of the most addictive game experiences ever, for only $1. That's like ... we can't even compare it to anything, because,
dude,
Peggle is only $1. That's like ordering some chicken fingers and the server hands you some filet mignon, too.
Act fast, though. The sale is only going on for a couple more days.

You would know I literally bought Peggle just last night.
Diskoboy7 @ Jun 11th 2009 3:49PM
Good thing I held out on buying it.
Downloading it now.
aristokrat @ Jun 11th 2009 3:51PM
How can I not buy this?
JerJer @ Jun 11th 2009 4:18PM
i have that shirt! bungie is good stuff.
B3astofthe3ast @ Jun 11th 2009 3:52PM
WOW! That is some cheap ass crack!
Geist @ Jun 11th 2009 4:01PM
Wait until Peggle Nights comes out on the iPhone, full price.
The first hit is always the cheapest.
JerJer @ Jun 11th 2009 4:17PM
yeah but nights is lame anyway. all the best levels are on the first one :D
Einhanderkiller @ Jun 11th 2009 3:53PM
$1? What a rip off.
jynxycat @ Jun 11th 2009 4:01PM
You're cool.
Geist @ Jun 11th 2009 4:07PM
Look how edgy you are. So edgy!
Einhanderkiller @ Jun 11th 2009 4:37PM
Edgy like a sharp, steel, Hippopotamus-flavored knife, man.
karmaghost @ Jun 11th 2009 11:23PM
You're cool because you don't like popular stuff. I get it. It's cool. Well, not cool... stupid, but that's how you like it, right?
Jeremy White @ Jun 11th 2009 3:54PM
So should I dive in? I've never played Peggle. Is it worth $1 on my iPod touch?
NaeemTHM @ Jun 11th 2009 3:57PM
ARE YOU KIDDING?!? That's like asking "Should I eat for sustenance today?"
Geist @ Jun 11th 2009 3:58PM
$1 is a very good price for anything. This game costs less than a ride on the bus or a chocolate bar. And while I can't comment on its worth (I got it for free), it's $1. Might as well buy it if you have an iPhone.
Babel @ Jun 11th 2009 3:59PM
Yes. Yes it is.
B3astofthe3ast @ Jun 11th 2009 4:10PM
The real question you should be asking is, "If a crack dealer offered me some crack for $1, would I buy it?"
Sora @ Jun 11th 2009 4:37PM
YES. I bought it for full price and don't regret my purchase at ALL.
gib @ Jun 11th 2009 5:19PM
This game is now the only game I play anymore. Best $1 you'll spend in the AppStore, hands down.
NaeemTHM @ Jun 11th 2009 3:56PM
Ugg...I'm not really complaining (since iPhone games tend to be insanely cheap) but it's kind of annoying that they release a game at full price, then DROP the price a month later. WTF.
I guess everyone just like's using Apple's business model:
1) Release a product at a ridiculous price
2) Drop price 2 months later and watch early adopters cry
3) Laugh and roll around in money
4) ???
5) Profit
Geist @ Jun 11th 2009 4:00PM
Well, yes. You might as well complain about everything, anywhere, because they all do this. The people that want it a lot will buy it at a higher price. The people that don't want it a lot will buy it at a lower price. That's the definition of the demand curve in economics.
Shmil @ Jun 11th 2009 4:02PM
have you ever heard of a sale?
NaeemTHM @ Jun 11th 2009 4:05PM
No guys I totally get that. I'm just saying it sucks that they do it SO soon. I wouldn't feel cheated if the sale came 6 or 7 months later, but to drop the price so much in only a month is a slap in the face to all early adopters.
Now clearly I'm not directing this at Peggle itself. I bought the game 5 bucks...and paid twice that for it on 360, so the value is already great. That said WAAAAY too many Apps on the App Store do this. You get something for $10, then watch it drop in price to 2.99 just a few short weeks later.
Geist @ Jun 11th 2009 4:08PM
Oh yeah it definitely bugs me when it happens to me, but, well, if you're willing to buy it at its release price and not wait..
Shmil @ Jun 11th 2009 4:14PM
Yeah, you are right this is a bit too soon for a 1 dollar sale. i mean valve did a 1 dollar sale on half life a few months ago but that games been out how long? (seriously I don't know)
ill trooper @ Jun 11th 2009 7:34PM
But since we're only talking about things that usually cost less than $5, I don't think it's that serious. It's like the AppStore is the only really great deal on gaming right now. You can go nuts with $10 and be playing a different game each day for a week. I love it.
It's also far less depressing when you catch a bad game at say $1.99 or $.99 than when you get stuck with a bad game on your other systems!
Storm Eagle @ Jun 11th 2009 3:59PM
$1? I dunno. You think they might put it on sell next week for...I dunno....FREE?!
Storm Eagle @ Jun 11th 2009 4:20PM
Never played this before. What an awesome game with an even more awesome deal. Reminds sort of Plinko from the Price is Right. Plinko was my favorite game on that show so it's only natural that this game entertains me. Thanks Joystiq!
Rhamsey @ Jun 11th 2009 3:59PM
That is an amazing deal, im texting my friend who has an ipod touch right now. Thanks for the heads up joystiq.
sargent @ Jun 11th 2009 4:00PM
Woo hoo, I almost bought it last night...glad I waited.
Picky thing though, the icon is round! No, it's different from the others...must make it square!
Shmil @ Jun 11th 2009 4:01PM
letsee, i've got a penny, a button and some pocket lint
JerJer @ Jun 11th 2009 4:02PM
HELL YES HELL YES HELL YES
Geist @ Jun 11th 2009 4:02PM
I have half a box of kleenex tissues, a dried-up sharpie, and a crumpled up receipt.
rTwelve @ Jun 11th 2009 4:03PM
Those wouldn't be cards obtained for free from a certain big-box electronics retailer, would they?
Shmil @ Jun 11th 2009 4:06PM
I just bought it and I've never played it before. But does it play "ode to joy" everytime you win? because that's awesome.
rTwelve @ Jun 11th 2009 4:16PM
YES
Jayplus @ Jun 11th 2009 4:09PM
I don't have an iPhone but will be getting one next week with the 3GS. Can I download this today to save money even though I won't install it until next week?
Billy @ Jun 11th 2009 4:13PM
Yes you should be able to if you do it through iTunes.
Sir Buzz Killington( The Artist formerly known as Jakka) @ Jun 11th 2009 4:24PM
Hmmm...you might be able to download it from iTunes Apple Store then synch it to your phone once you get it.
charlie b. @ Jun 11th 2009 4:08PM
my auntie warned me about gateway drugs...
but at this price, i think she'd want it, too.
charlie b. @ Jun 11th 2009 4:09PM
i'll trade you this Orange Julius, it's half full.
Saria the Cat @ Jun 11th 2009 4:11PM
I want this but I have been having an issue with my iPod Touch recently. All downloaded apps will load their first screen for a second, then close and go back to the home screen. Deleting and reinstalling an app will fix the problem for that app, but only until I turn off the iPod or until I sync with my PC, and then it will stop working again. Apparently this is a common problem. :( Has anyone had this problem or know how to fix it? I don't want to pay for any apps until I'm sure they'll work!
rTwelve @ Jun 11th 2009 4:17PM
restore it saria... and afterwards don't use the existing ipod backup
NaeemTHM @ Jun 11th 2009 4:31PM
Most games require you to restart of your device.
booticon @ Jun 11th 2009 4:34PM
Yeah, I would just do a full restore.
Eric @ Jun 11th 2009 4:11PM
I have it for Iphone and it is awesome.
coffins outside the door @ Jun 11th 2009 4:12PM
Im going to go buy a Touch so I can get in on this! Can't pass up this great offer.
Sly [PSN SniperChameleon] @ Jun 11th 2009 4:13PM
i think that reduces the value of the deal...
Temidien @ Jun 11th 2009 4:33PM
*facepalm*
coffins outside the door @ Jun 11th 2009 6:38PM
