TMNT: Turtles in Time Re-shelled a timed Xbox 360 exclusive

Kotaku is reporting that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time Re-shelled has received a release date of July 22, and will be a timed exclusive for the Xbox 360. Since we're not in the business of just believing everything we read, we decided to contact Ubisoft for some clarification.

Our rep at Ubisoft indeed did confirm the release date and the timed exclusivity on Xbox Live Arcade, which is likely to tick off a few PS3 owners out there. We'd suggest copious amounts of Infamous and, if you're lucky enough, the Uncharted 2 beta to get you through these tough times.

So this is Sprinkles and why everyone on the Nintendo boards calls Tmac TSprinkles.

Most people are respectful of the different systems articles and play nice... except for E3 time. Its sad that a couple of bad apples like these two have to constantly throw their feces at the comments of articles about their nonpreferred systems. It'd be nice to see what other people have to say CONSTRUCTIVELY about games and related articles without having to put up with these persistent trolls.

And the "I don't like on-rails shooters" comments in articles on that genre are starting to get old too. Can you at least punctuate that statement with a reason?

I wonder if the Genesis TMNT:THH will get similar treatement even though that version was never an arcade port and made specificaly for the Genesis?

So why is joystiq's recent answer for any lacking on the PS3 to play Infamous? I mean it's a good game but there's nothing there that Real Worlds didn't do with Crackdown.

I sort of understand timed exclusives of AAA, anticipated, multi-platform games... kinda. I guess if you own multiple consoles you will buy the version that comes out first. It's pretty weak.

But this? An updated version of an old Ninja Turtles game will be a timed exclusive? What the what!? I'm pretty sure people will be fine and just wait a little bit, I guess. Who cares. I don't really see the point of this.

Eat me Microsoft and Ubisoft. News not that exciting. Turtles are old hat in my opinion. Gave up on them a long time ago

But it does make you a dick.

I grow tired of Microsoft and all the money they throw around for timed exclusives, and pure exclusives to multi-platform titles (GTA IV's lost and the damned). I really don't mind having to wait a few extra weeks to download this game for my PS3, but it's Microsoft's general way of doing business that makes me want to drop a nuke on their Headquarters.

They're like the snobby petulant rich kid that's new to the neighborhood and the only way they can make friends is by paying other kids in the neighborhood to play with them.

HUGE TMNT fan. Cannot wait for this. It just looks great. Even though I own the original on SNES, it'll be great to play online and try to get the achievements. Oh, and big whoop about the timed exclusive. So PS3 owners have to wait a little longer, I'm sure they can handle it. Microsoft only did this because the original TMNT game they have in the Arcade is still in the Top Downloads and they see a chance to make some extra coin.

I guess I'll just buy it on 360 then, if I have to wait...

Psyche! I can wait a few months to play it on a system I actually enjoy.

not sure if i want this game yet, but if i do i hope to wait in the arms of a fat princess

This is a bunch of crap. It is stuff like this that makes me really hate microsoft. I was really looking forward to playing this game. But hold the presses ladies and gentlemen, microsoft has pulled out its pocket book. Now I'll have to wait another few months for no legitimate reason. Why has microsoft always hated competition so much? Just let the game release as originally planned on both systems at the same time. If microsoft thinks this kind of behavior is going to make me want to buy a 360 to play certain games sooner, it has had the opposite effect. I am now angry because of their unethical business tactics and will go out of my way to not purchase their products.

I was going to ask you to provide some evidence to back up your claim that "they all do this", since Sony has in the past explicitly denied this kind of behavior. However, after having done a brief google search, I did come up with some reports that sony does implement a Pub Fund to encourage independent developers to make their downloadable titles exclusive to the PlayStation Network by matching the development budget with guaranteed royalties, as well as assisting with game design and marketing. I still think this is different since they are actually assisting in the development of a game as opposed to just writing a check after a multiplatform game has already been made and is about to be released, but I can see how some might argue that regardless of the means, the end result is the same.

You don't have to have a Gold subscription to buy arcade games for your 360.

Why can't MOST PS3 fans act mature? Here you are crying that you cannot get this ONE game one week earlier. While you are getting the JOKER in your batman game FREE(this is something to be angry about)!. Now if 360 got this game for free(or a 360 exclusive) i would acknowledge your frustrations, but alas i will not/cannot/shall not acknowledge your pitifull crys over something that shall not/cannot/nor ever will impact your decision, or your ability to play this game to its full extent.
