Predictable, But yes, Captain Obvious pointed what we know already. Yes, it looks gay.

Activision needs to stop bullshitting us with all these Euro tracks.
Apollo @ Jun 12th 2009 4:18AM
You guys love looking for some of the weirdest pics of these European bands when their track packs come out, don't ya?
Ferco @ Jun 12th 2009 4:20AM
Why is Placebo listed as from France?
pcguy89 @ Jun 12th 2009 4:27AM
Placebo is from London. That's a typo.
EGOvoruhk @ Jun 12th 2009 5:02AM
A common typo. I do it all the time. The letters are all so close to each other
United States of Generica @ Jun 12th 2009 5:04AM
Placebo are from London, and I saw them play a couple of weeks ago at the warm up for their summer European tour of festivals.
Their website is .co.uk and not .fr so some mistake -- although they are huge in France, more so than they are in UK.
Jay Voorhees @ Jun 12th 2009 9:22AM
I'm huge in Japan.
baby sea tuna @ Jun 12th 2009 9:46AM
...and gay in Paree.

I feel huge when I go to Japantown.
JoeTheBlow @ Jun 12th 2009 4:23AM
Awful, Guitar Hero is a fucking embarassment, and i say that as a former Rock Band sceptic.
Its obvious they want people buying the full disc versions and spin offs rather than wasting their time on DLC.
Fair enough, your game gathers dust now.
Robert Maynard @ Jun 12th 2009 4:29AM
Sorry, I can't hear the words in this post over my IRON MAIDEN DLC. Neener neener, etc. :P
s1nd0x.exe @ Jun 12th 2009 4:44AM
Placebo is from UK, and I'm so getting that song =DD
OmegaVader @ Jun 12th 2009 4:57AM
hmm? What's that? Sorry, I'm too busy playing some Iron Maiden in Rock Band.
gib @ Jun 12th 2009 10:26AM
Dude, you just copied the post RIGHT BEFORE YOURS! It wasn't funny when Robert Maynard said it, it is not funny when you say it. Don't give me some lame excuse that you both thought the same thing as the same time, either... Your post was 30 minutes after his.
Gimme a break, and at least make it a reply to his post, so I can ignore the both of you in one fail swoop.
Dick.
Robert Maynard @ Jun 12th 2009 11:06AM
@gib
I'm sorry you didn't find it hilarious. Would it help at all if I did my best Jon Lovitz impression, arched my eyebrows and asked: "Jheaalous?"
gib @ Jun 12th 2009 11:32AM
@ Maynard
No, I am not jealous of a grown man who uses the words "neener, neener", quotes The Wedding Singer, and likes Iron Maiden. It's not jealousy, more like pity than anything...
Robert Maynard @ Jun 12th 2009 11:46AM
Really, a Wedding Singer reference? Which was it? :|
Guess I don't know my own referencing strength! Eh? Eh? Fan of Rocky and Bullwinkle? Or is that more pity? More pity? More pity. Okay.
Have a great day with your crappy DLC, shithead! :D
gib @ Jun 12th 2009 12:20PM
I never said I would download any of these songs... I won't. That was never my point.
It seems as if you don't get the reasons I didn't like any of your comments. Let me break it down, step by step.
1. You are a trolling prick for even posting about Iron Maiden on this page in the first place. If you don't like these songs, fine... just don't post. There's plenty of other articles on Joystiq you could talk about your taste in music, so go there.
2. I am all for the use of humor, cynicism, and sarcasm in postings. Your original post had none. It was a lazy, unthoughtful, unintelligent remark.
3. I wasn't even responding to your post. I was letting you off the hook, originally. I was talking to Omega. He just repeated (almost word for word) something already on the boards. It was a useless, unnecessary post.
Are you keeping up so far?
4. If you really like Iron Maiden, your taste in music is questionable at best, disgusting at worst. I'll stick to the middle and call it pathetic.
5. For some reason, you somehow think Jon Lovitz is funny or relevant. Neither of those ideas is true.
Yes, I pity you. I pity your lifestyle, your musical choices, your attitude. So, go away, play your Iron Maiden DLC, and shut the hell up...
OmegaVader @ Jun 12th 2009 4:26PM
Actually, I just didn't plain ol' read any of the comments, instead responding to the article itself.
don't be so sore, gib. I know Activision doesn't love you enough to release quality DLC, but it's okay. We'll always welcome you into the Rock Band fold.
Robert Maynard @ Jun 12th 2009 8:58PM
Afterwards, I regretted saying "enjoy your crappy DLC", because from other comments you appear to actually own Rock Band, so then I didn't even understand why we were arguing in the first place. This cleared it up - you're a crotchety ol' grouch who gets a hard on for asserting made up "grown man" standards that extend into musical tastes and pop culture references (that arguably only "grown men" would even get), and your heart is chilled by the joy of Iron Maiden fans for some reason. So now I encourage you to have a great day in a more earnestly therapeutic sense. :(
mlataupe @ Jun 12th 2009 6:23AM
eeehhrrr Placebo is indeed very gay. Also one of my all time most hated band!!!
I don't think they're even somewhat popular anywhere outside of France.
Helicon @ Jun 12th 2009 8:15AM
Jesus you guys have some latent homosexuality issues! A boy in eyeliner, mummy, mummy I'm confused. F-ck's sake, grow up.
As for popularity, my friend works for their record label and their new single is:
N°1 on German Trend Charts
N°1 on iTunes Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland
N°1 on Amazon France & Germany
N°2 on iTunes Greece & Netherlands
N°3 on iTunes Australia & Sweden
N°3 on Musicload Germany
N°4 on Dutch Midweek Chart
N°5 on FNAC France Midweek Chart
N°9 on iTunes UK
N°9 on Bol Netherlands
N°10 on iTunes Ireland
Just for the record ;-)
Martin @ Jun 12th 2009 10:35AM
"A boy in eyeliner, mummy, mummy I'm confused. F-ck's sake, grow up."
Best comment ever.
Reuben @ Jun 12th 2009 4:03PM
Placebo happens to be one of my favorite bands, with their album "Sleeping With Ghosts" being one of my favorite artists. I don't see what their sexuality has anything to do with, well, anything.
Elmoogle @ Jun 12th 2009 6:41AM
Wow, Placebo is really threatening some Joystiqers' masculinity. Maybe if you listened to the track and realized it kicked a fair amount of ass you would shut up.
False @ Jun 12th 2009 7:44AM
This isn't my type of music, but considering how Europe has gotten burned by Harmonix's late Rock Band releases, it makes sense that Activision would cater to the European gamers and try to build their fanbase there.
rkrocks123 @ Jun 12th 2009 8:04AM
I hate to disagree, but I don't see how releasing a three song track pack of bands from three different countries is going to sell units in Europe. If they really wanted to 'cater to Europe', they'd drop the price or use other incentives to get people to buy the game. Besides, Rock Band 1 had a European version with a few extra songs from European bands on disc.
Derick @ Jun 12th 2009 9:02AM
The title of the post is "Sixth European Track Pack invades Guitar Hero: World Tour."
6 track packs? I can see False's point.
T @ Jun 12th 2009 4:02PM
While 6 Euro Track Packs is pretty impressive, keep in mind people from Europe don't EXCLUSIVELY listen to songs from European bands.
Also keep in mind that it's SIX packs in less than a year. By comparison, RB hasn't released more than 2 packs from any given artist (Grateful Dead, Nine Inch Nails)
So while they're certainly driving the point home about Europe, 6 track packs comparred to the other content they've put out there is a bit overbearing. Especially when you watch disc after disc of GLOBAL HITS being churned out.
How sexy would a discs worth of Metallica, Van Halen, or Aerosmith DLC look?
aenima4386 @ Jun 12th 2009 7:44AM
hmmm....who would have thought, with a title like "WORLD TOUR"
rkrocks123 @ Jun 12th 2009 8:00AM
Man, Rock Band released an Iron Maiden 12-pack this week. Guitar Hero: World Tour released...this. Are they even trying any more?
JoeTheBlow @ Jun 12th 2009 10:10AM
Any more? They haven't started trying yet.
I guess Bobby "Fucking" Kotick can't make his stockholders hard with DLC, instead of physical discs.
Reinard @ Jun 12th 2009 8:41AM
It should be noted that, yes, Placebo's singer/guitarist is bisexual and, indeed, the bassist is gay.
So, yes. "Gay."
Now that we're through giggling like children, can we please move on?
Derick @ Jun 12th 2009 8:59AM
*giggle*
Maybe they kiss me! :D eee
Kdiggy @ Jun 12th 2009 9:37AM
*giggle*
Vanillacide @ Jun 12th 2009 1:47PM
Why should it be noted? Personally I could care less about people's sexual preferences.
Although if you are going to note it, for someone who is "bisexual" Placebo's singer/guitarist spent many years with a woman and fathered her child. I've always thought Brian Molko's "bisexual" is like David Bowie's in the 1970s, i.e. a line to shag hot chicks.
Crazy-008 @ Jun 12th 2009 9:02AM
Not really big into Rock band or Guitar hero, but as far as respect and appreciation for music goes.... you don't have to own the game or the DLC to be open minded, so I would say sample a track and if you like it you have one more song to add into that rotation of godawful 50cent nonsense....
That's just my opinion tho.
Kdiggy @ Jun 12th 2009 9:36AM
I've never heard of any of these fruitcakes.
Danny @ Jun 12th 2009 9:37AM
Yeah honostly with the iron maiden DLC GH will need some disturbed to keep my wii points with it.
