You know they'll probably have most of the trophies for the paid version of the game only. I tried this on my computer but I didn't like it all, it's basically a MMO for toddlers. But yeah if most of the trophies are for the free version, then I'll definitely try it on ps3.

i think one of the causes is the heavy advertisement. it's good to see sony stepping up it's advertising. it's still far away from the likes of microsoft and nintendo, but it's certainly much better than before.

i think this is just signups though, I'm curious to see what the amount of "regular players" is.

Whenever I see that image, I can't but help think of Fable II.

i remember playing 3d Worlds on pc (that free 3d "chat" program, think second life v.1)

and seeing two people in, then, intel processor outfits (remember that ad with the guys in pink/white Tyvek suits?) and say to me when I approached them with a friendly "hi!"; "LET'S TAKE THIS CONVERSATION ELSEWHERE" and to suddenly see them both float into the sky at 4fps.

good times the 90s.

To bad both my computers dont seem to like free realms. I get like 7 fps from both. One of the comps can run TF2 at avrage quality but it still cant run FR. and its seems like so much fun... oh can anyone else change the resolution on theirs. because it seems to be stuck at the standard comp screen res

If you happen to have a little spare cash you can always try upgrading your PC. I got an nVidia geForce 9800 GTX for around $130 recently. That's a really good video card and a pretty damn good price.

You can also get a good processor (AMD Athlon 64 X2 3.2GHz) for around $90 or less.

So for just over $220 or so you could be playing tons of higher end games.

I tried this game out and I really think it's perfect for the console set up. It's so basic, unlike most MMOs which essentially require keyboard shortcuts and a mouse.

How about they just replace HOME with Free Realms?

It may be a success for Sony, but 3 million isnt really that much in the free to play MMO market.
Crappy asian mmo's like Maple story or Metin are more successful than World of Warcraft over there. It would be interesting to see where the 3 Million Free Realms players come from though. Is it localized in europe already?

Not sure about localised, but it's certainly working and has options for players from all our countries.

Scratch that - they're all US servers and it seems english is the only language. But that doesn't put off a lot of continental Europeans - they're completely used to using English online.

I agree, I don't find 3 mil on a free game that impressive. I'd be more interested to find out how many of those 3 mil users are actually paying for something, and of that, something significant. It'd be quite a bit different if this game was another $15/month MMO and then they had 3 million players already.

I'm in two minds on if I would want this cross-compatible, on one side if I join in then I could join my sis. On the other hand even if I don't play n my sis finds out my PS3 can play it, then she'll want to play it on my PS3 when she's kicked off the PC.

By the look of things, it's still a long way for a PS3 version. : (
