Dio cut from Brutal Legend, replaced by Tim Curry

The "Holy Diver" himself, Ronnie James Dio of heavy metal band Dio, has reportedly been cut from Brütal Legend's voice actor list. Dio's management confirmed to Blabbermouth the removal of the lead singer's voice from the game, not citing any specific reasons, though it noted that actor Tim Curry will be filling the position.

Speculation surrounding the cut points to a longstanding feud between Brütal Legend's "Guardian of Metal" Ozzy Osbourne and Dio, though we're not so sure that their feud would carry over into the Double Fine-developed, EA-published title. To be honest with you though, we're still reeling from the lack of inclusion of any members of Slayer. "Raining Blood" playing while the act itself takes place in game -- these things write themselves, people!

Tim Curry is pretty damn cool. I used to find it sad he didn't get more acting credit then realized that his cult status is probably something to be quite proud of. He may not get huge rolls, but most people seem to like seeing him pop up in any role.

While Dio would've been nice, Tim Curry is a hell of a voice actor.

Having Kerry in this game would be the icing on the cake.

The whole fued between the two got somewhat ignited, since Ozzy sued Tommy Iommi last month over the rights to the name "Black Sabbath".

Considering the fact Dio is the singer in a "Post-Ozzy" Sabbath, I'm sure this has something to do with it.

James Hetfield would be awesome. I'm already buying it, but it would be instant GOTY if he was in it.

Led Zeppelin was definitely a key figure to the birth of metal. Metal has it's roots in blues. Zeppelin took concepts that define blues (amongst many others genres, offcourse), and played it louder and heavier then anyone had before them.

yeah, but i see it as a pre-metal since the metal we know is usually heavier stuff than 98% of zeppelin's music.

and, the majority of zeppelin's music was acoustic...

um.......no it wasn't.......

uh yeah it was... their most famous works are electric but more than half of their songs were acoustic...
