Dio cut from Brutal Legend, replaced by Tim Curry

The "Holy Diver" himself, Ronnie James Dio of heavy metal band Dio, has reportedly been cut from Brütal Legend's voice actor list. Dio's management confirmed to Blabbermouth the removal of the lead singer's voice from the game, not citing any specific reasons, though it noted that actor Tim Curry will be filling the position.

Speculation surrounding the cut points to a longstanding feud between Brütal Legend's "Guardian of Metal" Ozzy Osbourne and Dio, though we're not so sure that their feud would carry over into the Double Fine-developed, EA-published title. To be honest with you though, we're still reeling from the lack of inclusion of any members of Slayer. "Raining Blood" playing while the act itself takes place in game -- these things write themselves, people!

Dio wouldve been awesome but oh well iam still buying this game no matter whos in it.

Tim Curry: So good that he was too good for Batman: The Animated Series.

It's quite impressive to not get cast on the grounds of being TOO good for a role, but I can understand why they didn't want to scare little children, and I've grown to love Mark Hamill's interpretation of the Joker.

Good. Ozzy > Dio

Awww, did I hurt the Dio fanboy's feelings? Face it, the albums Sabbath put out with Ozzy are loads better then the ones with Dio.

ozzy is so much better than dio, he's half a foot better than dio.

That Holy Diver video was fascinating. However the best wack metal videos are made by Necrophagia. Check out "Deep Inside I Plant The Devil's Seed"

Screw Ozzy era-sabbath. That drug addled minimally talented hack. His involvement in various Sabbath is closer to damned metal-esque pop music than metal. Plus! His solo stuff pretty much IS the metal version of the damned Jonas Brothers.

Also, friggin' Killswitch Engage's anything doesn't do anything justice. Unless it's a suicide party.

Dio, nooooo. Tim Curry is fine (but can't do a Russian accent to save his life) but Dio is just pure awesome.

Erm... "Raining blood?" Yeah, um... the Slayer song is called "Reign in Blood."

Besides that, Slayer's lame. Stupid "Satan" metal for the angry, rebellious high school set, and older guys that can't figure out that high school is over.

No, the song is Raining Blood. The album is Reign in Blood. Slayer is amazing. They have a very unique sound and style that makes them very recognizable.

BTW they play thrash metal.

Slayer is the awesome polar opposite of Metallica.

Where Metallica get more and more mainstream and easy to digest, Slayer get uglier, faster, heavier, and more brutal.

All this BS has cost us Ronnie J. Dio from being in the game...very sad. Tim Curry is an excellent addition, ut too bad we can't have both.

This game is starting to swirl the toilet....

Why not drop the douche Ozzy, and keep RJD? I guess they are afraid Sharon might sue them....
