I'm betting the announcement will be about a Substance/Subsistence version for MGS4 and trophy support.

That is possible, though unlikely.
What I want is a downloadable version of MGO, since PS3 crapped out on me.
(Don't want to pay $150)

People who can't remember two simple Ids and passwords fail.

Seriously, enough with the Konami ID crap. Don't blame others for being too stupid.

And it's so stupid because trophies are already kind of implemented!

All they have to do is link the badges you earn at the end of the game to some trophies and everybody will be happy!

A few things, this "dlc" is released weekly on the MGO store, it just so happens that the bikini was released on the anniversary, you have to buy it with the MGO currency for winning matches, the patch came out about 3 months ago with the charm skill, it isn't a taunt for those with a bikini, it can be used with anyone once you've unlocked it. Another thing, MGO is one of the best online games i have ever played, it's much better than killzone 2, warhawk and resistance as it requires some strategy and has some actual depth. And if you won't try it because it doesn't have trophies, then fuck off and stay that way, we don't want your kind polutting our small, intelligent community.

"The DLC is free for players who already have the GENE expansion pack purchased and installed. No amount of money will get your dignity back after friends catch you testing the ladies' over-the-top "jiggle simulation." (Or simply watching the video of others doing it after the break.)"

I don't really get this paragraph. What DLC are you talking about? The bikinis? You get it with reward points don't you...I'm so confused. I'm also pretty sure you need SCENE to buy the bikinis/naked. And Charm, (the taunts) is a skill. You get it by falling into magazines 100 times.

Yeah, it isn't exactly DLC. You get it in the MGO Reward Shop with Reward Points that you earn in-game by playing(for free) in "Survival", Tournaments, and Automatching. I would consider the DLC of MGO to be the expansions, GENE, MEME, and SCENE.

The Bikini and other "Gears" displayed in expansion trailers, http://www.gametrailers.com/video/scene-expansion-metal-gear/46256 , are slowly unlocked via weekly updates in the MGO Reward Shop.

And the Bikini is part of SCENE not GENE(1st expansion), so you're right, you need SCENE (the 3rd and latest expansion).

I find that playstation.joystiq.com and some of it's readers don't particularly like MGO/play MGO, considering that they usually make a remarks about it's lack of players, issues with head shots, Konami ID and what-not. So, it stands the reason that they don't really try to super-accurately report on news about MGO. Or they just wanted to keep the article concise and to the point, thus they decided not to describe the true means of obtaining the Bikini.

what is says:
You buy GENE expansion - and you can get bikinis.
The ladies breasts jiggle. of course when you're "friends" test it, all dignity is lost.

other questions:
Yes you need GENE as far as I could find.
Yes you use reward points (from logging every day and matching and such, no $)

Now, if we can get rid of that Konami ID, I might get it. If we can hook it into the Home account, I might play it more often... like a lot more.

Technically Nate, you need both and more. In order to purchase SCENE, the expansion you need to get Bikini, you need to purchase the previous expansions as well (whether it be bundled together or individual purchases - bundles are cheaper but you would be missing out until the next expansion comes out). You actually need'em all, GENE, MEME, and SCENE.

Does anybody actually try getting their female chars. to do all those fancy motions? B/c I can only imagine that it'd lead them to a quick death by a headshot.

You select the gender of your character when you create them. You can delete existing characters and make new ones in the same "slot" (You can have more than one if you're willing to pay).

The "fancy motions" is actually a "Skill" called "Charm" (similar to COD4's perks). When a character (male or female - the male ones are pretty funny IMO), enters into 1 of the 3 poses (its random), anyone who gets with-in range will be "distracted" and will not be able to move or attack. It has the same effect as Playboy magazines found in the game.

And no, it's not a very useful skill as it renders you motionless and unable to attack as well. It can be useful while playing Team Sneak mode and you have good back-up. But i'd rather not explain how that works...unless u ask....

Why do people insist on continuing to complain about the Konami ID? Yes, we know it's broken. Let it go already...complaining about it is not going to solve the problem since Konami seems fixated on protecting their profits. Play the game or don't play it. It's not really that hard to deal with unless you're impatient or retarded.

Because a lot of people WANT to play MGO, but are just too damn stubborn/lazy to create a Konami ID/Game ID, even though there's absolutely no sign that it'll go away.

OR (just maybe)

People just feel like complaining and Konami ID is an easy target.

woops, sorry Johnny. I like you, so I don't mean any offense. What exactly are you stuck on?

Whenever I buy stuff, I try not to fiddle with the ps3 and just go back to my computer to go and buy it. Seems more reliable that way. And if you did manage to forget your konami id/password, the website does an adequate job of sending you those items back to you (unless it's the case that you have 30 e-mail addresses and you forgot which one you used).

Yeessss...come back for the bikinis.

Just be forewarned that the red one (like red of anything) is going to cost you 10,000 reward points. The going earn rate is 50 rp a day (100 rp on Wednesday) IF you do not play Survival Mode. Survival's where all the jackasses come out of the woodwork, which is why I hardly ever play it.
