Tim Schafer comments on Brutal Legend's disappearing Dio

That's all it is. He's a "better fit." Schafer claims that it was Curry's role as The Lord of Darkness in the 1985 movie Legend which landed him the part of Doviculus, but we suspect it may be his most famous role, as Rocky Horror's Frankenfurter, which is the real reason behind the casting. Just you wait, Doviculus will be prancing around in stockings and a corset before the game is through. Yeah, we see you shiver with antici ... you know the rest.

Actually I'm hoping for some Rocky Horror-esque elements, especially now that Tim Curry is involved. Considering the game is based on 70's fantasy-rock/metal, I see Rocky Horror references likely.

Fine with me. Dio is amazing in his own right, but I think voice-overs and such are going to amazing with Tim, and better access, all 'round. There's going to be plenty of thirty-something's playing this game-- much less forty-somethings.

And here I thought it was Curry's role in Clue that got him the part, oh well. But yeah he's just got that incredibly vicious speaking voice. I think it could be a better fit if they really need an experienced voice actor for a character that evolved past their original concept. Expect even more good dialog.
As for tact, it doesnt take much to speak to a professional like a man and simple say; "hey thanks for your work but we've been discussing it and we want to go in a different direction." ...And then you hand him a paycheck with lots of zeros.

Yeah, Curry is perfect for these over the top roles, but i wish there was still room for Dio, even in a brief cameo.
maybe Schafer figures out a way to fit the guy somewhere in the script.
