Spyborgs' Bionic Games lays off some of its staff

According to Haller, the current state of Spyborgs development no longer required the full complement of employees at Bionic. "Last week, we completed our Beta delivery [of Spyborgs] to Capcom," he told G4. "We now only need a small team to handle any bugs that might pop up over the next month or so. The game is for all intents and purposes finished and delivered."
In fact, Haller confirmed that Bionic is "six months into" its next project, and will begin hiring more staff following a successful prototype submission for that game.

I can't imagine working and staying motivated in a situation like that.
"Hey guys, the game that we've been working on together for years is finally finished, so it's time to fire most of you! Slap this on the 'shipped titles' part of your resume and be out of the building within one hour!"

As the guy from the studio says, this is normal and expected for the jobs this happens to. Most of the jobs would be in QA and if they don't really have anything to test right now they're not going to be paying those people for nothing.

I realize that, but it's like the light at the end of the tunnel during crunch time is you not being employed. I couldn't stay motivated in that position. But yeah, people get those jobs so they can make video games, not because they want good jobs.

as a former employee I find their response highly exaggerated.
