Normally we don't get excited for new screens in the "Holy S! It's the future in front of my eyes!" kind of way, but friends, today is an exception. Vicarious Visions has posted its second 3D screenshot of upcoming superhero extravaganza, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 (both found after the break) on its website and, to be honest, it's really impressive, allowing you to spin the full image in three dimensions.
The newest one features Deadpool leaping into the air and firing dual pistols at a bunch of fools, while the first (and even more impressive) screen has Thor combining with The Human Torch's powers to create some form of fire tornado. That's right -- a fire tornado. And no, things don't get much sweeter than that.
Ghen, do you make an effort to let things spew out of your mouth that don't make sense? You've sucessfully wasted a minute of my time reading and re-reading crap that doesn't make sense.
geez bagel you're such a dick he didn't ask that question with any technical terms, you just assumed that everyone who plays games have to have the passion to know ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING about making games he didn't know if that was like one of the many doctored screenshots we see or based on the game engine frankly, i don't know what's what about it either and i'm damn sure there are many people who don't as well you having any background in game development (or maybe not, wikipedia is every tool's best friend) is no reason for you to treat any of us like idiots
Wow, you're taking this way too seriously and reading WAY into something. Talk about assuming. If I had a problem with people not knowing things, that'd be my fault, and frankly illogical. I have a problem with Ghen, particularily because he has a history of being pompous and assuming, and because he's ACTING like he knows what's up. I just have an issue with him, is that legal, sir? Please chill out. It's games and software. Not politics.
I'm kinda in the dark here.. how was my statement bad again?
I've seen 3D creation tools in developer videos before and its pretty neat what they do. I was just wondering if they had to create something else to do this animation or if that's what they see when they go to work every day. If its the latter it would be even cooler.
my theory is the engine randomly loads up some lightning type sprites whenever something gets hit by the shot, & the only way to make a '3d screenshot' is to make a screenshot a bunch of times, rotating the camera each time
so they script the action sequence, pause the engine at a specific time, take a pic, move the camera, repeat, but the bolts load a different version/angle since they're randomly generated
This game is soooo unrealistic. It would take an adversary of god like proportions to take on a team consisting of Thor, Hulk, and IronMan. And if we're talking post-WWH then it would take God himself.
This is neat. I saw this done with the wolverine game. Game company's should think about these as new screen shots that they could give to the gaming media to show the gaming masses. IT'S THE FUTURE!!!!
The first time I saw something like this was with COD4. There was a screenshot of guys jumping from a helicopter that you could view in quicktime. That was really sweet. Can't really compare to these since they have yet to load.
I hope Jean is playable in this game. She was always on my team in the X-Men Legends games, but it sucked not being able to play as her in the first MUA game.
But you know what would really suck? If they use the game data from the first game, because I would have to play the game with no mutants, gods, or california and the humans hate me. Although, I think that last one is the main plot line for the second game any way.
