Tekken 6 continues to get more bizarre. Famed all-female mangaka group CLAMP (known for Cardcaptor Sakura, X/1999, xxxHolic, Code Geass) is designing new costume designs for Namco Bandai's upcoming fighter. Here, we see Jin wearing a wardrobe that would fit perfectly in CLAMP's Tsubasa Chronicle.
Obviously, the addition of one of the most popular shoujo groups in Japan is meant to increase Tekken's appeal beyond male gamers. In fact, the high-pitched ringing you may be hearing right now is the sound of thousands of anime fan girls squeeing in unison whilst holding onto Kero-chan plushies.

yeah, and it works......when its in a shoujo series. But when you have a serious, shounen series like Code Geass, it seems out of place. I mean, Lelouch is supposed to be a rebel leader but he looks like he just stepped out of a GQ photo shoot.

Christ...just what we need...pretty-boy outfits for Jack and Heihachi. may as well put Jin in a wedding dress and suit up Paul as a prom queen....
God, I'm really starting to loathe "Drekken"...

That last paragraph actually made me laught out loud!
Anyway this is pretty cool, more outfits is always good and although I'm not really big on anime I do like CLAMP's style... though I suppose it would probably work better on costumes for the female characters.

I haven't been paying attention to CLAMP since Cardcaptor Sakura, so I could be wrong, but hasn't most of their recent work been for (successful) series aimed primarily at males?
So perhaps this is an effort to attract a female audience, but not a hugely risky one if so; there's also the 'brand name' tie-in. Or maybe they just genuinely want to get some more interesting costume design!
Looks pretty nice... but I'm still not buying Tekken. (That's not a diss on Tekken, I just don't like fighting games.)

Yeah, that stuck out at me, too. CLAMP does primarily make shonen (boys) manga these days (Tsubasa is certainly one of those), though they still command a sizable female fanbase. The design for Tekken 6 shown is more reminiscent of their classic shojo style, though; it looks like something out of X or Magic Knight Rayearth.

This is all good, so long as it's going to be included on the disc and not something we have to download as DLC.
