By now, you must have heard about MAG -- an ambitious 256-player online shooter. We've seen it in action and have even tried it out for ourselves, but what's it all about, and what's this Shadow War we keep hearing of? Luckily, this developer video diary (posted after the break) gives us a look into the storyline of MAG and its fictional Shadow War backdrop and answers all those questions.
We get a closer look at the maps, weapons and characters seen in the game, while Zipper details the various PMC groups vying for power in the Shadow War. The clip also shows off some all-new gameplay footage, so make sure you don't miss it.

I'm still not sold either. Why? Because it's still a Massively Generic First Person Shooter. What would sell me is:
-Blindfire/Cover System
-Ability to crawl prone on the ground
-Option to switch to 3rd person mode (ala Resident Evil 4).
Give me that and I'd buy it for sure. But as I see it, it's just Quake 1 with a TON of players and better graphics. Get out of here.

very weak story I mean its not enough reason to go into massive war just "weaken the competition" and " get contracts".
if it was left unknown i would not have complained

Does MAG have any sort of Single-player experience ?

After Socom Confrontation that had no single player really disappointed me. Now I need some type of Beta or demo to win me over to purchase this one.

Agreed did someone say MGS4? The way MAG is described it is like Zipper is putting together what Metal Gear Online should have been based on the MGS4 storyline. Does Kojima know about this and when does Solid Snake and Liquid get introduced to the storyline?

I agree with Supun sounds like the MGS storyline put online. Oh wait wasn't that Metal Gear Online? So take Zipper's experience and Kojima's MGS4 story and there you go MGO 2: Shadow Wars. Kojima has said he wanted to leave the series but I doubt this is what he had in mind. So do players get boxes or barrels to hide in and is Solid Snake going to make an appearance or is he going to be DLC. I ask the same question of Liquid.
Bring on the Beta.
Bring on the Beta.
