CH3BURASHKA @ Jun 18th 2009 10:01PM
WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!!!
First it was the Future US president, now it's stupid AT&T games. I am honestly scared right now. I'm starting to wonder if I've been in a coma for the past 10 months and it's April Fools again.
Eric Bachhuber @ Jun 18th 2009 10:07PM
I love the weird sense of humor that the Joystiq team has. It makes me giggle like a school girl.
Masker @ Jun 18th 2009 11:46PM
Hmmm Giggle like a school girl....
CH3BURASHKA @ Jun 19th 2009 12:16AM
Are you sure you didn't mean 'jiggle' like a school girl?
ohyeahcola @ Jun 19th 2009 12:50AM
lulz
Boff @ Jun 19th 2009 5:50AM
Sometimes I like to Google for a schoolgirl.
Oh wait....
Drew -- PS360: uphillbothways @ Jun 19th 2009 11:48AM
You meant that you know a schoolgirl, and when she needs to find some information for homework, you'll willing Google for her, right? Right??
johnny @ Jun 18th 2009 10:17PM
I never have dropped calls with att here in south NJ. Not sure why everyone complains. The mms on the iphone is bs though.
Sly [PSN SniperChameleon] @ Jun 18th 2009 10:19PM
yeah, AT&T service is fine in alabama. in fact, i know a lot of people who switched from T-mo to AT&T because T-mo sucks here.
Sly [PSN SniperChameleon] @ Jun 18th 2009 10:19PM
oh, but the $30 monthly fee for unlimited texting is a PAIN IN THE ASS.
west43rd @ Jun 18th 2009 10:12PM
Speaking of tethering, I just posted a video on my blog showing how you can unlock the feature. Pretty cool. Someone has a PHP script up, you hit the site, download the profile and it works. All you need is an iPhone.
So at least one of these games can be a reality. ;)

You don't have to imagine the tethering anymore.
Sequel = Imagine: Insanely High Data Bill
LegendaryRedass @ Jun 18th 2009 10:11PM
You can literally stand in one spot and lose your signal. Wackiest network ever.
Thanks for killing my iheartradio with your worthless signal. It ironic the best phone in the world is tied to the worst carrier in the history of mankind.
Mr.U2 @ Jun 18th 2009 10:17PM
Hahahahahha, oh my goodness Mr. Sliwinski, I believe this is the first Joystiq post to make me laugh audible side-wrenching laughs. Thank you very much. That was much appreciated.
MEATLOAF2 @ Jun 18th 2009 11:58PM
LOL. exactly right! i busted up @ "dropped: the call". HAHAHA LOL. EPIC WIN!
mezzanine @ Jun 18th 2009 10:26PM
Why are they so retarded with texting? If you don't pay the 30 dollars monthly then it's 15 cents every time you make a text or receive one and if you have a lot of idiot friends that shit adds up...
LordToastington @ Jun 18th 2009 10:30PM
And everyone on the planet has at least a few idiot chums.
Mr Khan @ Jun 18th 2009 11:01PM
That's why you leave your phone off all the time.
Lack of contact goes a long, long way in this age when you're supposed to be forever connected.
kojo87 @ Jun 18th 2009 11:13PM
dude its $20 for unlimited. i'm not sure how you guys signed up for it but i've been paying $20 a month for unlimited texting for over a year and thats the price im still paying
Slammed I Am @ Jun 18th 2009 11:19PM
i pay only $10 a month but thats because im on a family plan otherwise it would be $15 a month.....seems as though AT&T has different prices depending on were you live
Hopper @ Jun 18th 2009 10:31PM
My brother is retarded! MY BROTHER! He's retarded and he can text just like the rest of us.
Chad Vanderbilt (Moptimus in Disguise) @ Jun 18th 2009 10:35PM
ummmmmmmmmmmmmm, Im sorry?
Hopper @ Jun 18th 2009 10:39PM
Yeah that comment was supposed to be in reply to Mezzanine but I'm a jackass and botched it.
Also, my brother isn't retarded and I'm going to hell for saying that.
Hopper @ Jun 18th 2009 10:31PM
Sorry that was dumb.
Drew -- PS360: uphillbothways @ Jun 19th 2009 11:50AM
You're doing it again....
Cosmo @ Jun 18th 2009 10:45PM
Is AT&T as bad with internet service as Comcast? Any ridiculous bandwidth caps, stuff like that? Sadly, I only have Comcast and AT&T in my area, wish I had Verizon FIOS.
shoan @ Jun 18th 2009 10:51PM
with wireless internet yes all seem to have the same 5 gig a month cap but when it comes to home internet there are no caps I am on UVERSE but I hear they are "investigating" caps
Sly [PSN SniperChameleon] @ Jun 18th 2009 11:01PM
yeah, i think so. i only have AT&T and charter in my area. charter is really good though, at least it is here in alabama. really fast with no caps. i think it's at 20Mb/s for $50/month at the moment...
Cosmo @ Jun 18th 2009 11:25PM
I also have AT&T U-Verse available in my area and am only interested in the internet service, no phone, TV, etc. Caps suck.......
Anon @ Jun 18th 2009 11:36PM
Shoan,
U-Verse is very much investigating caps. Currently testing in the Reno, NV area, we cap out our Max 18 package at 150GBs per month - not as bad as Time Warner's proposed cap, but still not too good.
Monkeydog @ Jun 18th 2009 11:41PM
I used to have AT&T, switched to Comcast even with the cap.
AT&T made me pay for really expensive internet when they weren't giving it to me, while Comcast ended up being cheaper overall. I've never experienced throttling, and I torrent gigabytes per day and I've never gotten close to the 250gb mark. So the cap isn't really a problem unless you're crazy.
shoan @ Jun 18th 2009 11:44PM
as it stands i hate caps but I can live with 150 gig a month. One good thing is this week they moved the 10Mbs up to 12Mbs without raising the price across the board. I was looking into the 18Mbs but I really don't see where I would benefit from it unless they start putting caps on the service then i will go for the top to raise the cap as high as possible. Right now I just need to get un lazy and run an HDMI cable throught the attic to the TV so I can stream Netflix from the PC and what ever else I want to pull up on the PC then my bandwidth consumption will go up but for right now Im pretty good with the proprosed 150 gig cap. I wish we had Fios here :(
Komrad @ Jun 18th 2009 10:45PM
I LOVED Dropped: The call. i hope they make a sequel.
DWells55 @ Jun 19th 2009 12:13AM
As long as you're like me and locked into an AT&T contract, you can count on *plenty* of sequels.
cknblade @ Jun 19th 2009 11:50AM
Haha...Yeah, along with the fear of dropping and breaking an iPhone (biggest klutz in the world), the main reason I didn't get one was the fact that in my experience AT&T is a terrible service, with all of the above games bundled with their ridiculous fees. Funniest part of this though? Do a bit of research, and you will find that the iPhone, before release, was initially shown to Verizon (my current provider), who turned it down.
Slammed I Am @ Jun 18th 2009 10:57PM
AT&T works perfect for me. i dont understand why everyone rips on it when i along with everyone else i know that has AT&T has never had a dropped call and i live in chicago. actually come to think of it the only time when I had dropped calls was when my girlfriend threw my phone at a wall
xgarryx @ Jun 18th 2009 11:15PM
what are you guys complaining about i have SPRINT
and the instinct is the worst phone ever:(
vdog413 @ Jun 18th 2009 11:18PM
Ive never had a problem with At&t & ive had it ever since the cingular days. Verizon is the one that you should be making fun of. When im out with my freinds at parks, beaches, or camps in the middle of no where there are alwyas at least 3 bars on my phone & my freinds with Verizon have no service at all. I say "So where's that Verizon Bastard now?"
Slammed I Am @ Jun 18th 2009 11:24PM
ive been with them since those days too. back then they were cingular then became AT&T, then switched back to Cingular only to change again to AT&T
MushyTush @ Jun 18th 2009 11:20PM
Another vote for AT&T as the worst mobile phone provider.
I recently moved to a highly populated NW Indiana and I had no signal at home, and spotty about 10 miles around it. Constant dropped calls, no 3G half the time. Did I mention friends and family with Verizon, TMobile and Sprint are all fine at my house? T-Friggin-Mobile people!
oxzid @ Jun 18th 2009 11:39PM
LOL! So true, Verizon Rocks! I have friends on ATT that have to go outside and do a Chris Farley (Blacksheep) to keep a call.
WRYYYYYY @ Jun 19th 2009 2:05AM
When I had Verizon, I'd send a text message, only for my friend to get it hours later. My friends would text me, and I'd receive the same message 30 times. I'd get voicemail alerts when my phone never even rang. I had six defective phones in a little over a year (I never even dropped any of them!). I called the Better Business Bureau and was able to escape my contract without paying the termination fee.
I can and will rip on AT&T for not giving me MMS until whenever they feel like it, but at least they're not Verizon.
Orion @ Jun 19th 2009 10:14AM
THANK YOU. You're 100% right. AT&T is far from perfect, but after having Verizon, it's a joy to use. At the very least their costumer service is better than AT&T who's idea of customer service was practically "yea what, what is it this time?".
Their phones broke, we had the same voicemail issues, calls not going through but voicemails coming in hours later, and some of the rudest people helping us ever imaginable.
I'm glad I made the switch. Say what you want about them, but if you ever were a Verizon or Sprint costumer, AT&T is like the holy grail of cell phone service.
