LucasArts developers play Monkey Island on Justin.tv tomorrow, June 19, at 3PM
Be ye ready for a ... sorry, we can do better pirate than that! Noy jitat, arrrrrrrrre ye ready to watch some LucasArts developers play Monkey Island and answer your barnacle infested questions? Then head on over to Justin.tv/lucasartsgames tomorrow at 3PM Pacific.
LucasArts devs will play through the early part of the game for approximately an hour and answer viewer questions. The event will not be recorded, so you'll have to make a date if the event interests you. Or, you know, someone out there in the stormy seas of the internets can record the event and then maybe slide a link where people can watch it later. You know, in the comments here or something. Too right, now ye be thinkin' like pirates!

Nice reference to Pirates of Darkwater but where is the accursed monkeybird refrence that goes hand and hand with "Noy jitat".
Vaitork @ Jun 19th 2009 12:47PM
Now there's a cartoon that could use a revival. I remember I was crazy about it when I was a kid. Even played the (now unbearable) beat 'em up SNES game back then.

First George Lucas ran out of Ideas, now all LucasArts can do is rerelease their old games.
What has the world come to?
Chad Vanderbilt (Moptimus in Disguise) @ Jun 19th 2009 12:47AM
"now all LucasArts can do is rerelease their old games."
and you have a problem with this..........why?
Wes @ Jun 19th 2009 1:33AM
Exactly. This is GREAT. I can't wait to see them re-release more old games. I think pretty soon we'd becoming up to Xwing, Tie Fighter, Xwing Versus Tie Fighter and finally Xwing Alliance which were all AWESOME games and its been so long since we had a really good star wars flight simulator.
arisc2 @ Jun 19th 2009 10:35AM
Sorry dude but i can´t agree more with the rest of the guys, just think how many star wars___"put the kind of game that we are going to make here" ____ we have seen so far for the last 10 years, then we can talk about running out of ideas. I was thinking that lucasarts should change their name to starwars games. But now they decide to bring some of the old and maybe best games of all times back to life, and you think that´s bad?? dude, in the middle of all the doom-clones believe me nothing could be better than monkey island. well, maybe one thing.....maniac mansion.

Cool I love Justin.tv can't wait :)
why not the LS2LS7? @ Jun 19th 2009 3:57AM
That scene appears to be from the crappy-ass 4th installment.
Hakobus @ Jun 19th 2009 4:21AM
The screenshot in this post is from Tales of Monkey Island, the episodic fifth instalment of the series developed by Telltale Games.
Daniel @ Jun 23rd 2009 8:17PM
It's not from Escape from Monkey Island or TellTale's Tales of Monkey Island. It's from the Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition, which is a screen for screen remake of the original Secret of Monkey Island game.
Hakobus @ Jun 19th 2009 4:20AM
Soo, are they really playing Tales of Monkey Island, since that's what's pictured. And if they are, why are the people from Lucasarts instead of Telltale who's actually developing the game?
And if it's the Secret of Monkey Island remake that they're playing, maybe Joystiq should put up an image of that instead.
Kvak @ Jun 19th 2009 5:29AM
Hey, we don´t really want a remade Monkey Island. Just give us the pixellated one and we´ll be fine.
Mickey @ Jun 19th 2009 9:12AM
You get both in the upcoming game, and are able to switch between them in real time.
Boff @ Jun 19th 2009 5:38AM
Yarrrrrr, I be looking forward to this.
scyufg @ Jun 19th 2009 7:17AM
In regards to the event not being recorded:

Johnny @ Jun 19th 2009 7:51AM
Is this Tales of Monkey Island or The Secret of Monkey Island??
stevetp @ Jun 19th 2009 8:06AM
Holy crap!
Was that a Pirates of Darkwater Reference!
Kvak @ Jun 19th 2009 9:23AM
Aha. The realtime switching sounds like a really cool feature. But then, why would I switch to the new one :D I wish the´d just sold the old one as a standalone at gog.com
Chase @ Jun 19th 2009 1:55PM
If anyone was wondering where the actual stream is going to be: http://www.justin.tv/lucasartsgames
Robert @ Jun 19th 2009 4:19PM
It definitely helps to add the "games" to the address. You think they'd update that... But thanks for the heads up.
shrgnatlas @ Jun 19th 2009 10:53PM
Here is a link if anyone would like to watch it, that missed it!

thanks for the post! i've checked justin.tv and i'm really amazed that these people did such a good job. too bad it doesn't have the latests tv shows like gossip girls. wish also the quality would be the same as on cacaotv where you can watch free movies and TV shows online (over there : http://www.cacaotv.com). but at least these websites are better than torrent pirate bay because they are legal!
