I thought the graphics held up really well (and the audio is still the best ever made). It may have been the machine you were playing on. Modern video cards have problems rendering Grim Fandango well. I had to play around quite a bit before I got everything running smoothly.

The controls took a lot of getting used to, definitely could do with a revamp there.

Yeah remake Grim Fandango with a way to forgo that horrid keyboard movement and I'd be there. Even back when I originally played it that totally sucked away from the fun that was the rest of the game.

Eh. its an awesome game. its just

WHY DOES IT LOOK LESS DETAILED AND CRAPPIER

they should definitely rethink their strategy. SF2 HD REMIX was awesome cuz it was all redrawn. none of this gay smooth textures crap.

Would a re-release of MI2 include the Mix-N-Mojo Voodoo Ingredient Proportion Dial?

The team that remade SF2 HD Remix also ran over schedule and over budget... Having all of Monkey Island redrawn like that would be awesome, but I don't see it happening :/

I know licensing is a bitch, but I want remakes of those Indiana Jones games, too! There's no reason to remake Monkey Island 3, but 1, 2 and 4 sure could use it.

But come on, the Indy games just had priceless dialog. AND FISTICUFFS!

It's coming for PC too? Then I'm sure I'll buy it.

But what's with all this talk about The Dig? I found it awesome for the first 15 minutes or so, until it degenerated into walking around pretty but empty locations with the rest of the cast just sulking in their respective corners of the planet. Oh, and don't get me started on the sappy ending.

Well, if they kept "Ask me about Loom", that sounds like a Loom remake is headed our way. I wasn't a huge fan of Loom, but if they remake LeChuck's Revenge, I'll buy it.

I'll definitely be picking up Monkey Island, and not just to support the further release of games. I just want it! Supporting other releases = bonus.

I will be buying the rerelease of Monkey Island and I absolutely support the rerelease of many of the old adventure catalog. However, I think it should be limited to the old classics. I don't see the need for an updated DOTT. DOTT art style still holds up today and already was a "Talkie", however a remake of Zak McKracken or Maniac Mansion or Monkey Island 2 would be good. Even throw in Loom in there. I don't want retreads of games that don't need upgrading. Instead give me more, new games a la Tales of Monkey Island. Have Telltale sink their claws into Full Throttle!

So the rampaging insane used market for these games isn't enough of a clue that people have an interest in purchasing them?
Please buy a clue, LucasArts - you've been running on empty for too many years now.

It would be great if they remade DOTT like this, and let you play an enhanced MM on that computer like you could in the original.

A friend of mine actually is selling or has sold all of his old star wars pc games @ a garage sale going on here now as we speak actually. He's selling them for cheap too...like a couple of bucks each @ most.

If I had the extra cash & spare room for the game boxes, I'd probably buy all of them from him.

I would love it! Every time I hear the opening Peggle song, it reminds me of the intro to DOTT when the birds are flying and start coughing.. good stuff. Full Throttle would be great too but day of the tentacle was my favorite.

I'd love to see a retail disc with all of these games on it. A nice golden age of LucasArts compilation. Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle, the Monkey Island series, The Dig, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis... I'd pony up some serious coin for that.

LucasArts doesn't seem to love money. Why? Because the "only" have to release a single package with adventure remakes of all their famous games on every platform + bonus stuff with behind the scenes material + a pirate hat + a new Monkey Island = Epic win.

EVERYONE WOULD BUY IT. MUST SUCCESSFUL GAME PACKAGE EVER. WORLD EXPLODES OF SO MUCH AWESOMENESS IN ONE BOX.

LucasArts could buy Google with the earned money....

I recently received an original retail copy of Grim Fandango from somebody who didn't appreciate it, and I can tell you, it has got to be the best sounding game I have heard. And no, I've never played Crysis.

Looking into the gallery sure doesn't make me want to replay this game for the improved graphics. I prefer high quality pixelated art to flash game graphics with yet another bad redesign of Guybrush.

I don't even want to imagine how games like Full Throttle or Grim Fandango might end up looking if they redid them budget style.

i want them all. they were the crowning gaming jewels of my youth. the entire MI series (especially the spitting contest in MI2 and the lice-in-the-barbershop portion of 3), as well as the classic humor in DOTT.

not to mention the fact that fate of atlantis was awesome. german accents ftw.

I'm glad people are so interested in these games now, hopefully that interest will translate into more NEW adventure games instead of remakes and re-releases. I don't see a reason to buy these games again, though, when SCUMMVM will let me play them on pretty much everything. I have it installed on my phone, my N800, several consoles/handhelds, and all my PCs, and I can use one copy of a game to play it on all of these devices.

I'm looking forward to the second season of Sam & Max on Wii, though. Telltale do some good work, probably why they're doing the all new Monkey Island for LucasArts.
