After encountering some problems while reopening the virtual doors to Xbox Live yesterday, Major Nelson is reporting everything is back to working order. However, believing everything we read isn't in our job description (even when the source is one we trust), so we put on our Tron suit and hopped into Microsoft's virtual world to find out for ourselves.
Going through Xbox Live and its Marketplace, we were able to do pretty much everything we normally could. We downloaded the trial game for Rocket Riot, then snagged a free gamer picture, and even pulled down the demo of X-Men Origins: Wolverine. In fact, we even checked out the Video Marketplace, and viewed a preview for the movie Outlander. So, we think it's safe to say that Xbox Live is back to its old self again. Are any of you still encountering issues?

I'm having a hard time redownloading some of the stuff I already bought, since I just got my 120gb hard drive. I go to my download history to get it again, and sometimes when the menu pops up it acts like I never bought it in the first place.
Frustrating as hell.

Nevermind, it seems to be ok now after a reboot. They must be ironing out some tiny kinks still.

I have been trying to get an update on my RRoD repair, and have not been able to get onto the repair site at all for the past 3 days. The page is loading as we speak, but it has been a half an hour. My browser has not timed out, so I am getting some loading going on, but it is taking for-ev-er.

yes, yesterday i was playing GOW2, i don't know if it was the server of epic or what but it was to slow to search the team, and i got kick out of XBL several times. and even on a public match it was starting and everyone got kick out, i was alone against a bot, and after like 1 or 2 min, i got disconnected form XBL, thats not the bad part, the bad part was when i finish playing another match they penalize me for not finishing the previous match
did any one had a problem like this?

Um the day after Live was down, my xbox red ring'd with a error E73, this is a 8 month old Elite... coincidence? It was working hte night before of the update. Anyways, support.xbox.com is very slow, to the point of not working.. hopefully getting my xbox replaced as it falls under 1 year warranty. 3 year extended does not cover E73 or E74.

I had a slight problem last night. I downloaded the Magic: the Gathering demo, played it, and decided to buy it. The purchase went through, but did not unlock the demo. I exited the game and tried re-downloading the full version. This download only took a few seconds and unlocked the game without having to download the whole 280MB again. I was pretty happy.

In Gears 2, I cannot find opposing teams in matchmaking while I am party leader. It will sit in the lobby searching for hours. Nat is open, ports 88 and 3074 are forwarded, no problems with any other game, and I was playing gears the night live went down with absolutely no problems like this.
Matchmaking with someone else as party leader works, but produces lag so bad the game is unplayable. Horde searches work, but games seem to be more laggy than previous matches. Nothing has changed with my connection, and no other games are experiencing significant lag.
Anyone else experience anything like this? Its driving me nuts, because I just started playing Gears matchmaking and was actually enjoying it(comapred to when I tried to play it at release)
