We know you'll need it: the Wii MotionPlus instructional video
With the release of the Wii MotionPlus, Nintendo has apparently placed how-to videos with applicable games to instruct its customer base on how to attach the accessory. Destructoid took the opportunity to upload the video, which walks a fine line between airplane emergency video and a tape that would be played in "health" class.
Dtoid notes that the real horror is that once the three-minute video starts ... there's no way to exit (not even the glorious Wiimote's Home button will save you). So, if you really need to know how to shove, slide and thread your components inside the Wii prophylactic, please feel free to watch the video after the break.

What the heck... I have to watch a 30 second ad before I can watch the video? For shame!
LordToastington @ Jun 18th 2009 1:30PM
This reminds me of primary school sex ed.

Uh... Ok...

As long as they truely love each other...
NaeemTHM @ Jun 18th 2009 1:37PM
Dudes...I totally sold my Wii yesterday. I haven't played it for SO long and I just feel like it's going to waste. Hopefully whoever buys it next will get more use out of it.
On the bright side I have more than enough money for a PS3 and some sweet games! Infamous shall soon be mine!
Though I'm not sure if I should wait for the rumored price drop or jump on it now :-/
Also, I'm definitely not saying I give up on Nintendo. I still have a good amount of Wii games and I look forward to No More Heroes 2, Metroid Other M, and Zelda 2010 so....yeah I'll pick a Wii up again next year. At that point I'm sure it will be cheaper and come bundled with Wii-motion plus.
baby sea tuna @ Jun 18th 2009 1:38PM
inFAMOUS is calling you...
Sly [PSN SniperChameleon] @ Jun 18th 2009 1:42PM
inFamous wants you... come to the dark side... we can rule empire city as player and player.
Alex @ Jun 18th 2009 1:50PM
lol@you thinking it'll be cheaper
Dirty @ Jun 18th 2009 3:52PM
I know Im in the minority here, but Im having more FUN with prototype. Might just be my cup of tea. Just curious if anyone else felt that way.
Mr Khan @ Jun 18th 2009 4:25PM
good luck finding it cheaper.
sonicspike41 @ Jun 18th 2009 4:26PM
Dirty, I agree with you. I mean I love both games, and I feel like inFamous has the better side missions at times, but in general I just found the powers and the story better in Prototype.
baby sea tuna @ Jun 18th 2009 1:37PM
If there was ever any doubt about the Wii's target market (i.e. Luddite soccer-moms,) I think it's just been erased.
Cody @ Jun 18th 2009 2:13PM
Right, because soccer moms are concerned about Motion Plus.
What's being greatly overlooked here with the release of motion plus is the fact that we are and will be seeing a huge u-turn persay, on the Wii, of straying away from the "waggle-fest" wanna be "casual" oriented titles that the original accelerometers in the remote brought with it.
Motion plus promotes higher quality development, and in turn, higher quality and more challanging gaming experiences.
Say what you want about Motion Plus in comparison to Natal and Sony Motion, the truth is its here TODAY and by the time the other two are released will will undoubtably see Wii 2 on the brink with Motion plus built into the remotes along with its own improved IR.
baby sea tuna @ Jun 18th 2009 2:22PM
Way to miss the point completely.
...though I'd expect nothing less.
Cody @ Jun 18th 2009 3:48PM
Well, in fairness, everything after the first sentence of my reply related in no way to the instructional video itself or your comment on it. Just my random thoughts pertaining to Motion Plus and how it's being perceived by the 360/PS3 fanboys.
Ryan @ Jun 18th 2009 1:37PM
"If control becomes unstable"?
What the hell? Wasnt this thing supposed to make the controls more accurate/stable?
Phil @ Jun 18th 2009 5:14PM
Probably has to do with some user caused error.
You know that if you plug (or fire up the Wii) in a nunchuk or classic controller while moving one of the thumbsticks out of place, it'll be defaulted to that position... It's probably an error like that.
Austin @ Jun 18th 2009 1:37PM
Does Nintendo have any faith in their customers?
guttertalk @ Jun 18th 2009 1:40PM
Do you not read this boards?
NaeemTHM @ Jun 18th 2009 1:42PM
Dude we're talking about the same customers that wanted to sue Nintendo because their remote hurt a family member/killed a pet/broke a TV.
I demand justice for those of us that have had our lungs punctured by darts!
Vidikron @ Jun 18th 2009 1:42PM
You have to consider that some of their customers threw their Wiimotes through their TV screens. I'm not sure I'd have much faith either.
It's amusing how strongly the WM+ instructions warn you that the WM+ isn't designed to be used without the sleeve.
Maulok @ Jun 18th 2009 1:39PM
I'm slightly aroused.
Storm Eagle @ Jun 18th 2009 1:45PM
Your avatar + That statement = Instant Win
joeybeast @ Jun 18th 2009 1:39PM
Haven't I seen the same video in sex ed class?
Ryan @ Jun 18th 2009 1:40PM
Thank you Nintendo, your silicone covered Wiimote didnt look enough like a giant vibrator until this video.
WREturns @ Jun 18th 2009 2:17PM
So it really IS for soccer moms!
sc00by_y00 @ Jun 18th 2009 7:32PM
Its missing a glowing ball though..
BidoofAloof @ Jun 18th 2009 1:40PM
Isn't this what instruction manuals are for?
I don't really want to watch this video every time I buy a game that uses Wii Motion Plus.
Storm Eagle @ Jun 18th 2009 1:44PM
Wow. I particularly enjoyed the "If Control Becomes Unstable" section.
Just put it down! Put the remote down!
Sly [PSN SniperChameleon] @ Jun 18th 2009 1:44PM
wow how casual is nintendo going for? i'm pretty sure a seven year old can easily figure this out... that wii rattle may actually become a reality...
InFaMoUs1- @ Jun 18th 2009 1:44PM
WTF!?
Cypher @ Jun 18th 2009 1:47PM
How stupid does Nintendo think its target audience is?
... Oh.
Einhanderkiller @ Jun 18th 2009 1:46PM
Ha, leever...
Cypher @ Jun 20th 2009 2:08AM

"Dtoid notes that the real horror is that once the three-minute video starts ... there's no way to exit (not even the glorious Wiimote's Home button will save you). "
So is this an optional video or is it like some of those FBI Warnings on videos that won't let you skip past them? It would be incredibly annoying to be forced to watch that video.
Chad Vanderbilt (Moptimus in Disguise) @ Jun 18th 2009 2:21PM
its optional
deaftly @ Jun 18th 2009 1:49PM
First thing I did was take the motion plus out of that Wii Magnum Condom.
Jack Hollow @ Jun 18th 2009 1:51PM

Valamphias @ Jun 18th 2009 1:53PM
I feel so much better about using the MotionPlus after watching this video. I just wouldn't have been able to figure it out on my own.
Thankyou, Nintendo. :)
captainprotonx @ Jun 18th 2009 1:54PM
Those hands sure are experienced at grabbing, stuffing, and molding.
This was the most erotic video by Nintendo ever. It's even better than the behind-the-scenes making of DKC (I have that VHS somewhere).
WREturns @ Jun 18th 2009 2:22PM
You thought the DKC behind-the-scenes video was erotic?
Lakkus @ Jun 18th 2009 2:26PM
i remember that tape! bet i still have it in the attic somewhere lol
Old Professor Zertoss @ Jun 18th 2009 1:55PM
So that's what I was doing wrong! I thought the strap went around my neck.
Chad Vanderbilt (Moptimus in Disguise) @ Jun 18th 2009 2:14PM
no no no, thats where the plastic bag goes. Stupid plebeians
Manly Mcbeefington (Mr. ESC) @ Jun 18th 2009 2:08PM
The video reminds me of the in-flight security advice video that is show on every AA flight.
Dirty @ Jun 18th 2009 3:55PM
On the Delta flights its a creepy ass white woman and an overly jolly fat asian man.
sonicspike41 @ Jun 18th 2009 4:32PM
On Southwest Airlines you either get the typical woman who is just doing her job, or you get one who actually knows how to make a joke.
"Now turn off all your cell phones, Blackberries, Halle Berrys, or anything else you may have managed to turn on."
Curtis @ Jun 18th 2009 2:34PM
Question: (Pardon me if this was answered elsewhere.)
Is the rubber shell mandatory with the Motion Plus? I prefer playing Wii without it now, and I have yet to see a image (and now video) without the shell attached to it.
Orion @ Jun 18th 2009 2:45PM
No it's not needed, though you'd be playing unprotected! But I guess that's why there's friends codes.. gatta keep you safe.
