If the uncharacteristic lack of over-the-top gore in Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe was an issue for you, series co-creator Ed Boon has some good news for you. Now (very clearly) heading up development of the ninth MK game, the designer has been tweeting about its content, recently saying that, "People want an M-rated MK....dammit we will give them an M-rated MK."
Boon also addressed a tweet he received asking what it would take to make an AO-rated MK, saying, "I dont know where the line is to make MK an AO rated game. But we definitely dont want to kross it." "KROSS" it? Oh Ed, you krazy klown. That never gets old!

Yeah.. I'll take a note of that...
We'll discuss at our next meeting with the board.
You might want to get that gaping vagina checked out though, it's leaving a trail of sand everywhere...

A M-Rated MK game that is in 2-D would be much appreciated.

They should make Mortal Kombat even more of a self parody than it already is.

I'm surprised another one's being made. Didn't Midway go bankrupt? How exactly is another game being created?

I was thinking the same thing. Seeing boobs getting ripped to shreds is kind of hit or miss.

It is truly pathetic that violence and murder are considered less offensive than human nudity in our culture.
Truly pathetic indeed.

The biggest thing I'm really asking for in the next MK game is a setting to do one button fatalities. While playing MK vs. DC, I kept wanting to throw my controller through the TV due to the crappy d-pad. I'm pressing left-left, not up-up!

it´s ok if he doesn´t want to cross the line, as a Mather of fact maybe it´s time for ed boon to start thinking in something else besides MK, for me MK reached it´s glory moment with MKII after that everything else was a big bad joke. So maybe ed should consider crossing another line, that line is dare to create something new instead of milking a death cow.

too late to be relevant. nice job on MK vs. DC but it had no real appeal after the story mode and a couple of online fights against Joker exploits.

Yeah, too little too late. No one wants an MK anything at this point, M-rated or otherwise. Let it die.

Wait, why did you need to pixelate out "@McCarron" when anyone can just go look at the original tweet?
I mean, what's gonna happen to the guy he was replying to, more followers?

I don't get it either, it's so easy to search for that tweet so it's not like they are protecting anyones ID. :P

I fairly regularly play UMK on my ds lite. It's quite awesome...what isn't so awesome is the AI in the game is "too good". Meaning that it almost always kicks your ass. Puzzle Kombat is a nice addition too. Well worth the $13 i spent on it new @ Sam's Club. Then again there is also a lot of nostalgia involved w/ MK & I...I remember going to the arcade & being like "...blood in a videogame...AMAZING!...let me put MORE quarters in...".

how about an MK thats actually good. one that does take it self serious and not one with a hoprrid cast of fighters. one with great fatalites not fatalites that make even you laugh because they suck so bad

What Midway needs to do is release NBA for XBLA with all the old players from the first games and the new players like Kobe, Lebron, Yao! Shaq was in one of the first games and he would be in this one wow.

honestly i thought Armageddon was pretty badass. it was like UMK3 on every kind of performance-enhancing drug out there. there's just little things missing in their fighting engines when they scrap them for new ones that make the game suck.
iuno, i'm sure they're cooking something up that'll be decent, but nothing like the MK we all know and love.
