Former EA COO says EA is in 'investment mode,' focusing on digital distribution

Though we're not sure if the recent change in guard from Pleasants to Microsoft alum John Schappert will alter what the ex-COO said to Reuters, things like the recently announced Tiger Woods PGA Tour Online point to "not likely." This isn't exactly a dramatic change from statements that Pleasants has made in the past regarding the company's business strategy, so it remains to be seen whether or not Schappert will steer the EA ship in another direction or stay the course.

if i owned an xbox360 i'd cringe at a statement like that. for me, my 60GB on my PS3 is pretty much full, but if i shell out $150 for a hard drive, it'll be a terabyte instead of just 120GB.
god i hope that they don't actually do that. the only company that's done the digital thing right imo is capcom, and that's only because they release kickass classics revamped or just because we don't stop whining for them.

"Were going all out risky here with 2 new IP's but these 12 sequels over here rank us in milliions year after year..."

Actually the only EA licenses that have been consistently recycled this generation are their NFS franchise and sports games.
(Yeah I remember one Medal of Honor came out, but that doesn't really count.)
