There's a reasonable possibility that you're wondering what both inXile and Choplifter are. The former is the company responsible for the amusing RPG The Bard's Tale, the console versions of Line Rider and not much else. Choplifter, for the uninitiated, is a series of video games (first released in 1982) in which players had to pilot a helicopter behind enemy lines and rescue hostages. Also, as a sidenote, it was really fun.
With that out of the way: GameSpot reports that inXile has filed a new trademark for Choplifter, listing it specifically in the category of "downloadable electronic games via the Internet and wireless devices." As such, it sounds like a new version of choplifter might be headed to services like XBLA or PSN. We also wouldn't be surprised if it showed up as a new iPhone title either.
Whatever inXile is doing with the franchise, let's hope the game doesn't stray too far from its roots. A 2D/3D makeover å la Bionic Commando Rearmed would suit us just fine.

Up until age 14, the vast majority of my experience with a qwerty keyboard was logged whist smashing innocents in Choplifter on the ol' Apple II.

I had this for my Atari 800. Definitely one of my all-time favorites.

"Xbox RPG The Bard's Tale" eh?
I believe the game was quite Multiplatform.
The developer also contains the lead designer of a little game called Fallout if I'm not mistaken.

I remember having Choplifter III on the SNES, that game was awesome!
I'd like to see an updated version on the XBLA for sure, as long as they keep to what made the original games so good.

Oh man, I forgot about this game! i loved it as a kid. I remember you could actually kill the guys you were supposed to rescue and my brother and I thought that was so cool. It made it more "realistic" to us. lol. Memories.....

Choplifter was pretty fun back in the day... I wouldn't mind seeing an update ala Lode Runner, but unfortunately, I don't think the latter remake set the world on fire in terms of sales. Curiously, both were released by Broderbund. I begin to wonder if Karateka is not far behind.
Anyone remember the Choplifter video game? I believe it came from Sega. Great graphics, but horrible gameplay! Joystick on the arcade version was way too stiff.
