Raccoon City recreated in Left 4 Dead, full RE3 campaign on the way
58
Well, that didn't take long. The Left 4 Dead authoring tools have been available to the public for just over a month and an aspiring game creator known as Outatime is already injecting some Resident Evil into Valve's zombie kill-a-thon. Specifically, Outatime is creating an entire campaign based on Resdent Evil 3. One map of the campaign has already been released, Resident Evil's legendary locale, Raccoon City. The map includes lots of twists and turns and a super spiffy rendition of the Raccoon City Police Department.
Those courageous enough to brave the map in its current beta status -- expect some frame rate issues -- can download it right here. You can also keep track of the campaign's progress on its development website. Check out a video walkthrough of the map after the break.

Curse my shitty computer! Why can't stuff like this be possible on the PS3/360?
I want to play that! Now!

I know L4D isn't available for PS3, but I was speaking more in terms of user generated content as a whole. Aside from UT3 (which I'm sorry, I'm not a fan of) and LBP, there really isn't a whole lot out there.

It's an evil plot comprising of shouting 13 year olds taking over the world. That's why.

Naeem what the heck are you talking about? That might have happened before, but the devs have said it won't happen again. There are Silent Hill, Dead Space, Mario, etc 'tributes' all over the place. You should play it and form your own opinion instead of listening to others.

I'd love to have the PC version just for this.

Nemesis seems to be missing, along with its tentacle rape recipient, Brad Vickers.

See, unless your UGC is trashing a brand or property I think the big companies need to leave these people alone. This guy is obviously a fan of the RE series and is familiar enough to recreate an iconic vista from one of the games. So what's the big deal anyway?
Besides, at least you can interact with THIS environment.....

Capcom's one of the few companies that's really cool about fanprojects. You know, as long as they're not for profit.

Swank. How come we can't receive user created content like this on the 360? Not this specific content, it looks good and fun, but copyright issues. But isn't possible to release some authoring tools for the 360 community? I'd like to be able to make some levels for me and my friends to play some Left 4 Dead on.
Maybe I can make a Left 4 Dead stage on LittleBigPlanet.

THIS does? Man, you need to get out more. Don't let the demo fool you, L4D is great fun.

I've played the full version of L4D, but the game just wasn't that interesting. Mods like this and a sale might do the trick though.

@Vidikron I disagree. It wasn't until I got to experience the later levels and especially being able to play as the special infected that I really got into the game. Other wise it's just head for the exit and keep pulling the right trigger. The demo, for me, made the game seem real one dimensional.

Preston, you should be checking out Steam for often. They had this on sale not long ago and I'm sure it will be again.

Copyright infrigments? Like Valve can do anything about this. It's not like these maps are uploaded to Valve's servers for others to download or anything, you download them from third party sites, then place them in your L4D map folder.
But, why RE3? The least memorable of the old-school Resident Evil's at least in my opinion.
