Sixteen games from Novalogic catalog added to Steam
Are you a fan of a) downloadable games, b) the Steam service and c) awesomely named action titles? If so, you're in luck -- Novalogic recently added 16 of its high-octane action games to the Steam service, and each one possesses a moniker more radical than the last: Armored Fist 3. Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising. Tachyon: The Fringe. Delta Force - Black Hawk Down: Team Sabre. Delta Force: Xtreme 2.
If you're looking to fill your computer with video games whose names have been injected with steroids, now's the time to do it. For the next week, Steam's slashed the prices of Novalogic's titles by one-tenth. You're getting 100 percent of the radness for 90 percent of the price! How can you pass that up?

Hey, I have a steam account! Are any of these games actually any good?
Einhanderkiller @ Jun 19th 2009 11:25PM
Joint Ops is pretty cool. Not sure how many people still play, though.

See my post below. Played the beta of Xtreme 2, and I was satisfied... still doesn't measure up to how fun L4D or TF2 is.

Tachyon is kind of awesome.

XTREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEMELY bad graphics. But who cares, if you're a fan of vehicular combat and huuuuge 200 person battles, get Xtreme. Online play is actually pretty fun with these games.
Glad to see our friendly neighborhood Novalogic join Steam.

Just get Joint Operations instead of Xtreme, no need for that excuse of a game. It's still one of the few games that actually has over a hundred players than a measly 64.

Damn Tachyon: The Fringe was pretty cool I thought, but why buy it when I still have the game disc.... somewhere....

Hooray for Tachyon. Bonus for playing that one... Bruce Campbell does the voice for the main character.

Was awesome, yeah. I still haven't played a better joystick-enabled space flight sim than that game. They simply don't make those anymore . . .
Gah, now I need to find that CD.

Um... who?
NukeAssault @ Jun 20th 2009 12:01AM
Only thing ive played form them was Delta Force. Wasn't great wasent bad though...
LeJerk @ Jun 20th 2009 1:35AM
Kinda pricey I'd say. You can probably find a jewel case copy of the Delta Force games for a few dollars at Target or Wal-Mart.
I'm just saying... $9 for a game that came out in 1998?

Just 1 problem: They don't sell a cheap "complete pack" =(
how_much_I_carrot @ Jun 20th 2009 7:24AM
more importantly, good old games just added the Tex Murphy games to their catalog.

Thanks to this article, I have dug Tachyon out of my desk, installed it, and just played it for the first time in 4 years.
Holy goddamn shitballs this game is awesome.
JGZinv @ Jun 21st 2009 6:28PM
Yeah there's a Tachyon community at FringeSpace (google it).
We're updating the game to a different engine.
Plenty of old Tach pilots still in the fringe.
Longest BaseWars game? 18 hours straight for me.
