Stephen Colbert unveils Microsoft's next console
Wow, Microsoft has been on a roll lately. First the company unveiled Project Natal at E3. Then came the dreams of fantastic controller-less games, giggling like idiots at a weird, digital boy and squealing like children as we pretended to drive a car. And now, guess what kids? Project Natal is yesterday's news, as Stephen Colbert somehow managed to get the green light from Microsoft to unveil its next Xbox console, the ExXbox.
Honestly, we're at a loss for words. Forget Project Natal. Put away MotionPlus. Shelve the PlayStation Motion Controller. The level of innovation here is simply through the roof. Rather than attempt to describe how incredible it is, allow us to direct you past the break, where you can see the future unfold before your eyes (look for it at 1:40 in the video).
[Thanks, Jay!]

I bet you have to preorder it thru Gamestop to get those "clothes only smart people can wear"
Kyle @ Jun 19th 2009 11:39PM
I heard his Harvey Birdman voice in the last button press. win!
ragetek @ Jun 20th 2009 1:55AM
that skateboard part was truly hilarious!
BPMOmega [GT,Steam] @ Jun 20th 2009 11:53PM
Phil Ken Sebbin's voice is his normal voice, though.
However, Reducto is a disguised voice of his.
BACK OFF!
kanweil @ Jun 19th 2009 5:38PM
is it just me or does Colbert have a striking resemblance to Steve Jobs now?
Christ-ian @ Jun 19th 2009 6:21PM
FUCK YEAH HE DOES!!!
Tre (formerly known as digitaltre) @ Jun 19th 2009 6:28PM
Now that you mention it, that is very true.
Greg2k @ Jun 19th 2009 6:49PM
He looks like a vegetable?
xtremeholymuffin @ Jun 19th 2009 8:21PM
Yeah, it's too bad about what happened to Steve Jobs.
[tre] @ Jun 19th 2009 11:36PM
But Steve isn't a vegetable! He actually is alive, despite what the press says.
Roncore @ Jun 19th 2009 5:38PM
Look at all the fun I'm having!!!
Rincewind @ Jun 19th 2009 5:39PM
wow, that wasn't funny at all!
Mazrael @ Jun 19th 2009 6:55PM
Didn't make me laugh either.. but then I'm a Brit, we have different humour.. I hear Americans love British comedy (or was it Canandians), doesn't mean it's true.. each to there own. least people can have a laugh..
This_Time @ Jun 19th 2009 7:01PM
I'm going to have to agree. Grown men dancing around like idiots is more of a facepalm than a laugh. I give this clip a -.- out of ten.
Haohmaru (PSN - DimmuBurgerKing XBL - A Real Puppet ) @ Jun 19th 2009 8:08PM
Sorry, I can't see your opinion; it's too faded out.
the_pop @ Jun 19th 2009 9:18PM
I agree, most of the jokes were cheap and obvious.
Not funny at all.
Mike @ Jun 19th 2009 10:58PM
@Mazrael
I didn't laugh either...and I'm American....and I find nothing special about British humor. So yeah, maybe it's the Canadians.
bm @ Jun 21st 2009 4:58AM
"I'm going to have to agree. Grown men dancing around like idiots is more of a facepalm than a laugh."
You must hate Natal.

"Didn't make me laugh either.. but then I'm a Brit, we have different humour.. I hear Americans love British comedy (or was it Canandians), doesn't mean it's true.. each to there own. least people can have a laugh"
As long as it's Monty Python. Just don't turn me into a newt.
B @ Jun 19th 2009 5:39PM
Why do people think this guy is funny and intelligent again?
maveric101 @ Jun 19th 2009 5:44PM
at least his jokes are more than just pausing with a confused/bemused look on his face (jon stewart). imo colbert is more quick-witted, and makes a difference in the show, since i'm sure they don't work out all the dialogue beforehand.
cknblade @ Jun 19th 2009 5:50PM
Stewart is pretty constantly funny, with a few exceptions, while Colbert is very hit or miss. He can be funny when he's on his game.
AsherR @ Jun 19th 2009 5:58PM
I'm the opposite than you cknblade. I like Colbert a lot, but I don't know if I've ever laughed at Stewart. Now, I haven't watched the show a lot, but I've seen at least 10+ episodes.
But to each his own. :D
GewurztraminerX @ Jun 19th 2009 5:59PM
Stewart is himself which I find more amusing because I identify more with a real person being confused about the world and the way it works.
Colbert is essentially playing a character; one that I rarely agree with. Which, I guess, is why it's amusing.
ugg.tryptophan @ Jun 19th 2009 6:00PM
...because he used to be?
Kickinallkindsofass @ Jun 21st 2009 3:41AM
I'll betcha half the people here swear Adult Swim cartoons are hilarious.
Letters2Kay @ Jun 19th 2009 6:48PM
I usually don't, but that was HILARIOUS. Period.
Cr4sh Dummy @ Jun 19th 2009 7:41PM
"Why do people think this guy is funny and intelligent again?"
Because his show uses a heavy dose of satire, seriously stop trying to be a nonconformist, it only makes you look like a lackey like the other morons that "hate" Colbert in this thread.
smcn @ Jun 20th 2009 12:16PM
Perchance, does your name happen to be Donald H Crosby?
Pablo Codeglia @ Jun 19th 2009 5:42PM
Was it supposed to make us laugh?
ANTHOLOGY @ Jun 19th 2009 5:42PM
Project Natal now obsolete!
PS. where did his hair go? This is a sad day in american history.
Giroro @ Jun 19th 2009 5:43PM
He got it shaved for the US Army.
CRY SOME MORE!
MowDownJoe @ Jun 19th 2009 5:45PM
Obama ordered that it be shaved off when he did his show in Iraq. Led to a funny bit on his first show back where he donned a wig of his old doo.
Giroro @ Jun 19th 2009 5:42PM
He is such a funny guy.
BJ is Gooder @ Jun 19th 2009 5:44PM
I think I may have smiled a little watching that...
Am I the only one that doesn't think Cobert is funny?
Uncontrol @ Jun 19th 2009 5:48PM
Colbert used to be a lot funnier. The schtick has just sort of worn thin now.
bongoes @ Jun 19th 2009 5:51PM
"Any child with a skateboard and the skill to ride a skateboard no longer has to ride a skateboard" That's what I've been saying!!!
And I can't wait to see "booze soaked chocolate covered meth cigarettes" on the market
DWells55 @ Jun 20th 2009 2:57PM
Those things are the real day one purchase.
Jansperus @ Jun 19th 2009 5:51PM
I actually agree with Stephen Colbert's point: the greatest game of all is the game of the imagination! I don't know about you, but my imagination is much more exciting than anything Nintendo or Microsoft or 3DO released and I don't have to know Japanese to play the hentai stuff.
Dave @ Jun 19th 2009 5:57PM
LOL Perv.
Leobebes (BDF: Braid Defence Force) @ Jun 19th 2009 6:33PM
My imagination ran out when I walked in on my parents having sex when I was 8. My 360 and PS3 fills the void. You don't seem to understand Jansperus.
reebo @ Jun 19th 2009 5:55PM
Lmao, Colbert is a genious.
reebo @ Jun 19th 2009 5:57PM
Or genius, but only a genious would now that.
Dobbybabee @ Jun 19th 2009 11:28PM
Did you mean to misspell know? Because if you did, that's hilarious.
CLShortFuse @ Jun 19th 2009 6:25PM
*know*
Autobot @ Jun 19th 2009 6:51PM
Colbert is epic win.
Letters2Kay @ Jun 19th 2009 6:52PM
Wow... epic fails, all around. Lawlz...
FeaturePreacher @ Jun 19th 2009 5:56PM
First Jimmy Fallon and now the Colbert Report. I even think Natal was mentioned on the Rachel Maddow show. Funny how Natal is getting all this free publicity and yet Sony's motion controller is a no show. Makes me wonder if Sony is even serious about motion control or just doesn't want to be left behind.
ChuckJ @ Jun 19th 2009 6:02PM
People watch the Rachael Maddow show? Isnt her ratings even worse than Hardball and Olberbite's?
