You wont get far (this weekend?) unless you skip the MGS4 cut scenes and play Killzone 2 on easy

my advice: DON'T skip the cutscenes and play killzone on easy. and play infamous on whatever because it's not terribly difficult either way.

i dont think im gonna play MGS4 because ive never played any others, and I dont want to be completely lost. I wont get to experience everything until tomorrow because he only gave me his AV cables instead of HDMI : / so the brilliance of KZ2, the only one i have to play, will be lost on me for teh night

Yeah MGS4 might be a bad place to start with the series. Not to say is isn't great. It just might confuse you. Hey, you know number 1 was re-released on PSN. download that for your friend's sake and play it instead of 4 lol.
Or if you want to play them in chronological order, play MGS3 first. Then 1. Then 2.

MGS 4 is pure gaming majesty. If you have some intelligence and you can think things through the story will make sense. I expect nothing less from a someone with a billion dollars! In all seriousness you should play MGS 4 because the game is just awesome. I can understand why some people don't like the long cut scenes but the game is just so damn epic.

I would say you should play (not in any order) Killzone 2, Little Big Planet, Heavenly Sword, Resistance 2, MGS 4 and ratchet and clank future tools of destruction as they are some of the best ps3 exclusives. There are other ones but those are some of the best games.

Oh my God, KZ2 is making me sad I dont have a PS3. This is exactly what ive been looking for! Ever since Quantum of Solace and RSV2 ive felt like any fps i play NEEDED a cover system, but didnt necessarily want 3rd person, and KZ2 does it perfect! Why dont more FPS' do this!?

i thought i was the only one that noticed... in cutscenes, you look like you're at everyone else's level, but when you walk right up to them, your face is at their chests. it's weird...

Haha, yeah, it's so true. It ruins the feeling of 'badassness' slightly when, after slaughtering a hundred Helghast, you find yourself barely reaching the chin of your teammates.

Still, I'd recommend playing MGS4 - even if you only play the first few chapters, you'll get an idea of just how incredible the game is. Skip the cutscenes if necessary!

I'd like to be playing GT5 Prologue which I just bought, but I'll be spending most of my weekend finishing up my psychology paper for my degree that's due next month. In case anyone missed what I said a couple days ago, the reason why I was upping the trolling for a while now is because I was studying human behavior so I was purposely pressing buttons. I also had to interview a neo-nazi in a local prison which wasn't the best time I've ever had, as well as going to a mental hospital and studying the crazies there. But yeah the real me doesn't even hate nintendo, I don't like them or hate them but I'll be picking up a wii for sure this time around Christmas.

So sorry for putting you all through hell :P

On a side note, I'm loving my new 120gb drive. It's so nice not having to delete DLC or xbox Originals because of space anymore :D

Well this guy in particular was in prison for double murder of a jewish family, so yeah I guess you could say he's like what you would picture one to be. Incidentally, he had some really funny jokes..or at least they would be if anyone else was telling them. It's kinda different when a jew hater's telling them. It was hard not letting a chuckle out, I had to keep my Brian Williams face on.

Nah they were mostly jokes I never heard of, but I'm not going to repeat them here cause they were pretty mean.

I didn't mention anyone from here by name on the paper, but I will tell you I studied the bigger irrational fanboys here (as well as others) like Sprinkles, Killjebus and Curmeo back when he was here all the time. It was...interesting to say the least.

@Sly

Nah Cody came along too far in the process for me to use him. I had my prime subjects picked already and they gave me a hell of a lot of good stuff. If I get a good score for this I might actually have to thank people like Sprinkles.

Yeah online behavior was part of it. Why people act differently or in some cases why they act their "true selves" online, meaning they act how they really want to but don't in real society.

1. I was already a member for a little while here and some of the people seemed like easy targets

2. I admit I toyed around with my friends a bit but nothing too serious (don't want to fracture friendships haha) but for th emost part it was just messing with you guys :P

3. Nope I was on my own for this whole thing. Had to schedule my own meetings and everything, which wasn't easy as people don't just want anyone wandering in to prisons and mental hospitals getting in their way and stuff.

@ tmac. Cody was active here before, under the monicker of LilCo. Though he was more Nintendo fan and less Microsoft hater back then, but the similarities are all there, aside from the similarity of name. He was banned in a flamewar with Johnny, back when his name was John McPoop. Oddly, Johnny also took a significant hiatus from this site after that

Him being a huge fan of Florida sports and such was a dead give

Yeah I think he simply went by the name "Co" at that time and got all pissed when I would say my kids get most of the time out of the Wii. I probably said a little more than that (I was more fervent at the time for whatever reason) but it was never to get under his skin it was just what was up at the time.

I also got banned for giving my thoughts on homosexuality in that gay gamer thread a while back. I didn't think it was justified because I was completely respectful and just stated my opinions. Why post such controversial shit if you aren't going to let people talk about it? Whatever but I can say for sure that banning wasn't justified. The other time I got banned was from another AOL blog when I called out the editor on some other stuff. That was pretty much a justified banning but it wasn't from anything at Joystiq.

@T-Mac

I guess this explains why your big announcement that we hyped up was a fucking book instead of a few simple lines. You should post that paper up for everyone here to read ... you kind of owe that much to the animal house that gave you a lot of material. I never had anything against you and this doesn't change anything as long as you stay true to who you are. Ok so the Nintendo stuff was trolling and to get a reaction to study behavior but certainly your entire persona wasn't a lie? was it?

Good luck on the paper dude ... cool stuff.

Nope the only thing I really put an act on was with the nintendo stuff. Honestly I get as frustrated with them as just about everyone does but I do like some of their franchises still. I'm still the huge hardcore gamer I said I was, just not as much of an asshole :P

Seriously guys, I say what I feel, I don't hide behind anything (I even have the same myspace link from my last Joystiq account to my real myspace page on my new and forever PUBLIC profile here) and NOBODY ever has gotten or gets under my skin.
