Joystiq turns 5, you get the presents! Win inFamous & Prototype on PS3

[Update: We've picked a winner! Congratulations, mahunoy! Everyone else: thanks for the best wishes. Here's to five (hundred?) more! Now, enough playtime. We've got some news to report on!]
Earlier this week, Joystiq turned five. Five! That's half a decade of daily video game reporting. That's over 38,000 posts and over 1.5 million of your comments. That's up from over 27,000 posts last year, and less than a million comments! Let's put that in perspective: even lowballing the average word count per post at 100 words (for example, this post is 339 words) that's nearly four million words! How does that stack up? If Joystiq had been a monthly magazine, and if you consider a standard printed page to be 250 words per page (spoiler: game magazines aren't 250 words per page), each issue would have been over 250 pages, with no images and no ads. And we're lowballing here! And that doesn't include comments.
So what? This is all to say, "Thanks!" Thanks for reading the site today; this week; this year; or this half-decade. Thanks for supporting our unique flavor of game journalism. Thanks for taking us to task when we get it wrong and for sharing when we get it right. Thanks for being interested enough in video games to read about them every day, multiple times a day, and for staying engaged.
So, what better way to say "thanks" than to give you free stuff. Introducing Swag Saturdays – every Saturday, we'll be donating something from our pile of free stuff to you, the Reader. Slow week, it may be a shirt for an iPhone game. This week: A superhero c-c-c-combo pack for your PS3, featuring both inFamous and Prototype.
Again, thanks!
-Love, Team Joystiq

About two years ago, but only PSP fanboy at the time.
Anyhow I don't live in the designated price area, but you should give the price to InFaMoUs1, if there ever was a sony fanboy it is he.

September 2008. I learned about it from engadget.
Between Joystiq, and The Onion, you guys have inspired me to start my own video game site, http://theabutton.com
Joystiq is my number one video game news source and I use it for reference in my material. Without Joystiq, my site would be nothing. It's only been a month now, but I've gotten exposure to over 2300 people because of the work I can do with the inspiration from Joystiq. Keep it up guys

Probably since mid 2006/summer. I finally decided to register on the release date of the Wii, November 19, 2006. Can't say I agree with my name anymore, but I kinda feel fond of it.
Anyway, congrats on 5 years.

I started reading you guys periodically back in college, but after I graduated and got a real job I have Joystiq open at all times and refresh constantly when I'm bored to see what's new. You guys get me through the day.
Hydrophobicfish @ Jun 20th 2009 7:34PM
I started reading around December 08, and have religiously checked multiple times per day since then!
Happy birthday, 'stiq, here's to at least five more!

Mune @ Jun 20th 2009 7:35PM
I guess I started around two years ago. Started with Joystiq and slowly gravitated toward PSP/PS3 Fanboy, as well as Wii and DS (which I later quit following because of a--to be honest--lack of interesting updates). I now keep up with the PlayStation and Nintendo portions of the site, which are one of the better sources of news for video games on the web.
Victor @ Jun 20th 2009 7:35PM
Around 2006, no idea when though :(

I started around July of 2007 I believe. Lots of great times and more fanboy wars than I can care to remember.
Happy B-day joystiq
Artrus221 @ Jun 20th 2009 7:36PM
I first started to read Joystiq back when www.ps3fanboy.com was just a direct link to a Playstation blog. Not that long ago really if you think about it... I go here like everyday since then though so here's to hoping for a reward for loyal patronage.
Brian @ Jun 20th 2009 7:38PM
i don't remember when exactly - about a year ago? i saw a link from another site (possibly digg?) and just started reading
