Steamboats and body parts in new Point Lookout screens
(click to Megaton-size)
In an act that can only be defined as 'terror gifting,' Bethesda recently dropped a handful of new, extra creepy Fallout 3: Point Lookout screenshots for your approval. Between the trailer (after the break), the few screens we got before and the handful of screens below, the creators of the "Capital Wasteland" have remained fairly tight-lipped about even the existence of the DLC from the get go.
Of the little we know from Bethesda about the game -- the swamp setting and promise of new weapons/enemies -- it looks as though the company is set to take even more of our money in the coming months. And considering this is the same developer that once created horse armor, we're going to say things have come a pretty long way.

@drumwiz86: You mean birthplace of the legendary Moon Pie? Oh, how I miss you!
The summer after I graduated from college, my highschool friends and I schlepped to Bellbuckle for the annual Moon Pie festival. They had shriners, a goat, and the World's Largest Moon Pie (which was pretty underwhelming - but I did get a piece).

how am I still addicted to that game...?
Yuccadude @ Jun 20th 2009 11:37PM
Went and bought the code in the box yesterday and unfortunately Bethesda had already shut the codes off, but my friend has it already because he downloaded Point Lookout on Thursday night... *sigh* Why can't we just play it now instead of having to wait until Tuesday?
mvp576 @ Jun 20th 2009 11:42PM
Is this another XBLA exclusive?
Sly @ Jun 21st 2009 12:07AM
no, it's coming to PC at the same time, and PS3 in a couple months.
Sly @ Jun 21st 2009 12:08AM
point lookout is the first fallout 3 DLC that i'm not interested in... i would rather see screens and a trailer for mothership zeta. that DLC sounds AWESOME!

*Dueling Banjos begins playing*
Foetoid @ Jun 21st 2009 12:17AM
When is Fallout 3 going to be on special on Steam.
Wait don't answer that. I've too many other games to finish before i dedicate myself to Fallout 3. I haven't started on Dead Space, Stalker and Clear Sky are both unfinished, as is Bioshock and Universe at War :(

Axe + Mirelurk King + Lighthouse = Amazing screenshot
Ihavepants @ Jun 21st 2009 12:41AM
And their next DLC is being kidnapped by aliens according to Todd Howard.
The Dark Wayne @ Jun 21st 2009 1:00AM
Well it's called Mothership Zeta, so that only makes sense. It's not like we could have Liberty Prime through us in there like Wolverine in a Fastball Special. At least, he can't anymore *sniff*
Sly @ Jun 21st 2009 1:23AM
mothership zeta sounds amazing. finally get to see living aliens in fallout haha. and MORE ALIEN WEAPONS!
R.I.P. liberty prime
The Dark Wayne @ Jun 21st 2009 1:46AM
fucking commies!
squeehunter @ Jun 21st 2009 2:53AM
The aliens thing was just supposed to be a joke in the origional Fallouts but they must of have really really liked it.
Sly @ Jun 21st 2009 2:54AM
COMMUNISM IS THE VERY DEFINITION OF FAILURE.
Ihavepants @ Jun 21st 2009 3:53AM
Source: http://www.revision3.com/bestof/e3day2, Todd Howard's around halfway I think.
nighttime__ @ Jun 21st 2009 7:33AM
if the Aliens are using the same Ray Guns (that you find near the power station) against us in Mothership Zeta, then we're gonna have to restart plenty of save games.
The Dark Wayne @ Jun 21st 2009 12:49AM
comes out tuesday right?
Taco_Hell @ Jun 21st 2009 1:34AM
I just hope they fix the mod problem. I'm tired of my game crashing simply because I have mods that create buildings in the game.
shamon @ Jun 21st 2009 1:57AM
I still have to beat the solo mode and then i will download all the other stuff . It feels like a never ending game this is how all games should be with new content .
Swagman @ Jun 21st 2009 3:18AM
Do yourself a favor. Once you hit level 20, whether you have completed the original game (on the disc) or not, once you reach level 20, don't fight another battle until you download Broken Steel.
Broken Steel raises the level cap from 20 to 30, and the change takes place right away. So even if you have not finished the original game, you can take advantage of leveling up your character even higher, without having to resort to grinding to do so.
One small warning about Broken Steel. DO NOT download it BEFORE you get your character to level 20. To compensate for upping the level cap to 30, Broken Steel also introduces new villains to fight, like Super Mutant Overlord, the Albino Radscorpian, or the Feral Ghoul Reaver (shudder), which are pretty tough to fight even if you are level 20.
So to recap: Buy Broken Steel AS SOON AS your character turns level 20 and NOT BEFORE.
The Dark Wayne @ Jun 21st 2009 11:32AM
oh my God, the Feral Ghoul Reavers, those things are awful. I fought two in the Presidential metro tunnels, one of them took a direct hit from the fatman and still kept on charging, and the other survived the blast too! Those things made fighting the entire enclave army look like taking a nap
Todd Sieling @ Jun 21st 2009 12:04PM
I'm playing all the way through for the second time, and only a few hours into my second game I applied Broken Steel. It's true that I have some much, much harder enemies to fight in places where I thought I knew what would happen, but it's added so much surprise and heart-pounding challenge that I think it's a good way to play. GNR Plaza is never the same after you meet the super mutant overlords for the first time.
Markez @ Jun 21st 2009 3:01PM
Since you're advocating not getting it until you reach level 20, I'm wondering if you'd be able to just delete Broken Steel DLC from my 360?
Kenofthedead @ Jun 21st 2009 3:12AM
Looks good, but one thing is missing and only talented modders can fix it.
Legion of Doom HQ in the swamp! Make it happen people!
shamon @ Jun 21st 2009 4:10AM
@Swagman
Thanks and will do .
tmacairjordan87 @ Jun 21st 2009 9:16AM
That ban didn't last very long did it? Why do you keep coming back to a place that hates you and bans you all the time? I think it's because you're frustrated in your actual life so you take your anger out here, where the safety of being anonymous protects you.
I recommend getting some counseling to figure out and fix your issues, so you can stop being an asshole on here and who knows, maybe make some friends.
TheLionOfAzzalle @ Jun 21st 2009 9:31AM
EDIT: The thing about trolling is that no one likes it and it just makes our lives hard(er). Please keep the comments on track and the bickering with each other to a minimum! Thank you!

Anyone know when the PS3 DLC is coming out? I have an XBox 360, but I was given the PS3 version of this game.
mvp576 @ Jun 21st 2009 10:09AM
There's nothing funny about about that. there's plenty of die hard fans on my friends list who are tired of this timed exclusive BULLSHlT.
so don't "LMAO" your fan boy SHlT all over the place.

One thing I hope they add is some more weird '50s music. That was one of my favorite aspects of the game.
The Dark Wayne @ Jun 21st 2009 11:29AM
well the Pitt didnt have a radio, but if this one does i doubt it'll be much more than Banjo's and fiddles

Adds 90 time period appropriate songs to GNR. Unless you're on a console, then you're SOL.
Cesaria (seh-sare-ee-ah) @ Jun 21st 2009 12:01PM
I could just rip '50s music straight onto the box and play it that way....but I'm not that motivated.
