It looks like the much anticipated cake binging/capture the flag sim Fat Princess, which was promised to hit the PSN sometime in June, will not make its initial release window. Playstation.Blog Europe's Mike Kebby confirmed that while the game would have a global release date, said date won't be next week, and that we can expect the highly frosted gore fest to drop "at some point this summer." Hopefully the warm summer months won't whittle our precious Fat Princess down to just a Princess. That's not nearly as catchy a title.

no it looks like the guy from assassins creed ... rumor has it the PSN version was delayed to add additional content on the heels of the PSP version thats also releasing this year. There hasn't been a reason stated for the delay but the theory goes that the PSN version was looking kind of barren compared to all the stuff they added to the PSP one. This game is supposedly already finished so it makes perfect sense that they are delaying it to add some extra content. I was in the beta (as you know) and the game had no bugs to speak of and was super polished. I can't wait for this one even though I was hoping it would be out next week.

PSP version was announced at E3 without much fan fare and is called Fat Princess Fist Full Of Cake and will feature all the PS3 content plus additional content (see the youtube link below).
As far as the avatar goes ... All I'm seeing is that Enzio dude from you at the moment. Changing the avatar is a chore on Joystiq for some reason. Somehow this Allistair Azimuth avatar updated right away and has been there ever since only reverting to Kenny Powers and the pillsbury dough boy a few times.
What I've noticed seem to work best is if you resize the picture to something like 79x79 pixels or something a little bigger but equally proportioned. Then, just update it like 10 times in a row and it should stick more of then not.
Game looks awesome ... Can't wait for both versions.

I second your sentiment, but this is nothing compared to games like Alan Wake, Heavy Rain, LA Noir, etc. If I remember correctly, this game was announced last July. I feel like a year is a pretty fair announcement window. A little on the long side, but not egregiously so.

The headline is SOOO overrated. Griffin is paying people off for high reviews, Eidos style. The headline is a 5 AT BEST. I'll wait for the sequel.

PSN GOTY candidate. Looks like a great deal of fun, especially if they can find a way to get some nice teamwork going.

im in the beta. the matchmaking was bad at first but the latest version which you have to delete the old one and download again from your list is better. i was disapointed with the beta as a whole though. it just isnt real fun after a while

Have to agree. The beta is awesomely fun.
Considering that it was only 1 map, and has so much more strategy than what can be seen on the surface, it is a candidate for GOTY imo.
And yes, the beta was horrible the first week, with logging on being close to impossible, the latest install changed everything for the better.
All i want to know is when, how much, and how many maps... Titan?

Since the game missed its target release date, it has dropped about 6 points in my book, which translates to a no-go. sorry. looks like i will just have to wait for cod6 a little longer.

Call Of Duty 6 hasn't been announced yet. You guys might be thinking of Modern Warfare 2.
I hate to sound like a little bitch with all that but it's not COD 6.

This shows there is no winning with critics: when a game gets delayed it gets blasted for being late and we start hearing about the "Delay- Station" (remember that?). On the other hand when a game comes out on time but a patch follows shortly after the game gets blasted for not taking extra time to fix or put everything in it from the get-go.
This game will be as worthy and fun within the next three months as it would have been next week.

It's hard not to make comparisons with the art styles being so similar but they really are completely different experiences. This is more of a competitive multiplayer experience than a co-op experience. Hopefully this game isn't broken at launch like castle crashers, though.
