Even better, footage emerged on YouTube as well (seen after the break), showcasing the screen in action, though playing Halo 3 as opposed to Gears of War 2. Other shots drop presumably Mr. Fatone (pronounce that as you will) playing Call of Duty 2 and, erm, showing everyone his Gamercard, paltry Gamerscore in-tow. But alas, congrats to you, Mr. Fatone, you've likely just played the biggest game of Halo 3 ever.
Xbox 360 hits the big screen at Cowboys Stadium

A tipster at our sister site Engadget snapped this shot from Gears of War 2's title screen, while waiting for a controller to be reconnected, on the enormendous 72 x 160-foot 'LED wall' at Dallas Cowboys Stadium late last week. It's reported that the stadium was being set up for the Jonas Brothers' June 20 concert, and the one piloting the system was none other than Steve 'SoneAF1015' Fatone, the group's video director.

How are they controlling it? You would need a massively long usb extender and a wired controller depending where your hook up the xbox.

It looks amazing for being shown on such a huge screen.

I don't know...it only looks like 576 lines of pixels if you ask me. I can totally count the jaggies in the diagonal lines.

That's pretty impressive.
A much better use than for a Jonas Brother's concert.

Yeah - i remember that.
There is no reasoning behind that comment & Trenton is an idiot for saying something so absurd.
Both the PS3 & XBOX 360 output 1080p visuals, so i have no idea how anyone can come to that conclusion.

Nice trolling Nutman but your memory is incorrect. You are probably mixing up reality with what you want to believe is true. You are thinking of a GT:5P demonstration from October of last year.

What does a PSN link in my S/N have to do with you trolling?
If they said it then lets see a link and I'll admit I was wrong. Otherwise, you are trolling. Period. Back it up or it doesn't mean anything.

Ignatius is right about the Xbox 1 (not sure about the PS2). I had HD cables for my Xbox and ran Halo 2 at 720p. It even says 720p on the Halo 2 box.

In a way his statement was true. I don't want to seem like I'm defending the statement (because now that I went back and re-watched I remember that now) but it's a fact that at their E3 keynote the only screen that size showing that resolution was from the PS3.
It's hard to believe anyone actually took that type of a statement seriously. I guess you must be an X-Box type of guy to be remembering that stuff. I had completely forgotten.
I don't think you were trolling so I apologize and I had my information mixed up for a moment. The statement is so absurd as not to be taken seriously as a matter of fact. It seemed more like E3 keynote chest beating that all of the talking heads tend to do. Hell, they play the Madden Nation finale every year on the big screen at Time Square in New York so I'm not sure why anyone would even think he was saying it like a fact.
It kind of befuddles me that people took that comment seriously ... maybe he meant it literally but I don't think thats the case. None the less you are right and he did say it and it could be interpreted that way. It could also be spun so that he is correct, though.

Halo 2 wasn't 720p on the original XBox. I have the box right here and it says "HDTV 480p". I think you're confused with the fact that the XBox 360 runs both Halo 1 and Halo 2 at 720p.
Anyway, there were actually 30 or so games on the XBox that ran at 720p or 1080i. Some actually looked better at 480p, IMO. Soul Calibur II, for example, ran at 720p, but it did so with a 4:3 aspect ratio. It ran 480p with a 16:9 aspect ratio. I preferred the latter myself. Just Google it up and you can find the list of games pretty easily.

The size of the screen and the resolution being displayed aren't one in the same. I just want to point out what he actually said is different than saying only the playstation 3 is capable of displaying on a screen that size. It's sort of splitting hairs depending on how you want to deduct what he meant.

I dunno how it compares to the size of this screen, but I DID play the game in IMAX when it was first released. I only got to play like a 5-minute deathmatch but it was epic as hell.

I can tell the difference between 720p and 1080p. However, I do have a large screen. I forget what the experts say is when you can tell the difference, however I would take a guess that you could tell in Cowboy stadium :D.

What's with everyone misremembering stuff tonight?
It was in reference to a GT:5P demonstration ... (from the link I posted) -
"One of these, was a time trial competition using Sony’s newest digital cinema projector, the “SRX-S110”. Gran Turismo 5 prologue is already in Full HD resolution at 1920 x 1080 pixels, providing the highest resolution possible in today’s TV content. However in this time trial, the Full HD image was increased to twice the resolution both vertically and horizontally (4x the surface area), enabling game play at an ultra high resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels. This was performed by connecting and synchronizing four Playstation 3’s outputting a quarter of the image each at 1920x1080 pixels, but you must remember this demands an extremely high quality image from the source that can withstand the ultra high resolution. It can be said that this demonstration was only made possible, because the source image was *********Gran Turismo*********
What supported this time trial on the display side, was the newest digital cinema projector from Sony, the SRX-110. This “4K”SXRD”(*1) projector is the next generation in projector technology, enabling a resolution of 4096 x 2160 pixels, equivalent to the high resolution image of 35mm film. The high 4000:1 device contrast ratio and a response time of 5 milliseconds, also adds to the level of breathtaking image expression introduced here.
The crowd was simply amazed by the clarity of the image displayed on the massive 220 inch screen, and the players who participated in the time trial expressed their excitement of how perfectly in focus the screen is even close up, and at the quality of Gran Turismo."
