Looks like they nailed the whole jet pack gameplay. I'm a little skeptical on the whole vertical combat thing though.
MRLN @ Jun 22nd 2009 8:05PM
My thoughts exactly. The combat looks completely uncomfortable.
Mr.U2 @ Jun 22nd 2009 8:34PM
Ya, same here. I feel like they kept on making a big deal about the vertical gameplay, when I don't think it'll be as great as they think... But I'm still super stoked for this game, simply for the jetpack! I can't wait.
Pukel @ Jun 22nd 2009 10:16PM
Warhawk + expansions = jetpack knife fights = win.
isaac @ Jun 22nd 2009 8:09PM
fuck salt
Matt @ Jun 22nd 2009 8:28PM
Ugh, that combat looks like spam.
Great, a jetpack. Let me know when a fight isn't just:
1. Grab cover.
2. Go full auto.
3. Reload.
4. Repeat 2 & 3 as needed.
Bad combat makes me sad.
Levi @ Jun 22nd 2009 8:30PM
this game reminds me a little of certain parts of Shadows of the Empire on N64
Jack Spicer PSN: watsuke @ Jun 22nd 2009 8:45PM
The reason those jet packs were never used is because they would incinerate your legs.
All in all, i wasnt very impressed with this. Felt like its been done before i just cant think of the game. Maybe a Boba Fett knock off?
jonah stein @ Jun 22nd 2009 8:55PM
I think U.F.O. is the wrong terminology here. Since the 'flying objects' are not actually 'unidentified' . Why can't we just say flying saucer? Is saucer too British? Flying platters, maybe?
Big Filth @ Jun 22nd 2009 9:08PM
this game better not suck. they have been hyping it forever it seems.
Old_Snake @ Jun 22nd 2009 9:36PM
The vertical combat looks iffy but I'm still looking forward to it overall. I enjoyed Crimson Skies in the day and the rest of still looks pretty fun
Richards | PSN: F4WMR @ Jun 22nd 2009 9:39PM
I will by this game but I have one major beef and that is the weapons being used. To me they have no OOMF!, they just look weak as hell and the sound effects are terrible to them... being Capcom I thought they could replicate awesome weapons like in Dead Space but it seems they have spent a lot of time on the open world and flight mechanics.. understandbly so, seeing as how it will be the major selling feature. But if I'm suppose to progress by killing baddies, I want to feel like I'm killing and not tickling them... just my 2 cents.
Peter Johnston @ Jun 22nd 2009 10:19PM
Dead Space is an EA game and you're right the weapons sound like cap guns.

@ Peter
Ah major oversight on my part. Thanks for the correction mate.
Kdiggy @ Jun 22nd 2009 10:24PM
This looks really good. And it's being released in September? That's a good time. I's early enough not to get lost in the holiday game releases.
ecko @ Jun 23rd 2009 12:35AM
I wonder if Bungie knows they(Airtight) taught a scarab some vertical combat tricks...
