Tekken 6 release date: October 27 in North America

So the real question is: How long will you have to keep this mental math up for? Namco sends word that the Xbox 360 and PS3 releases of Tekken 6 will be tekken up retail space October 27 in North America, "with the Europe, Japan and Asia release to follow shortly thereafter." As for that PSP version, it'll be available "this fall" but we can't offer you anything more definitive than that. 127 days and counting ...

So I'm guessing cardboard tube samurai is just a skin and not a full-blown character in the game? I don't know Tekken, is there a dual sword fighter already?
Mullinsmcd @ Jun 23rd 2009 10:13AM
Its most likely a Yoshimitsu skin but considering the new novelty items available for in-game purchase it could be another character who has a sword as well. No further details have been revealed yet.
Snowblind @ Jun 23rd 2009 10:37AM
It was confirmed to be a Yoshimitsu skin on the PA page.
Personally, I prefer these just being alternative costumes, rather than guest characters. They ruined Soulcalibur IV by having too many guests.

I'm pretty sure you can get an adapter to use the PS3's controller on the 360.
Vcize @ Jun 23rd 2009 11:16AM
How would an adapter even work? The PS3 controllers use bluetooth, the 360 doesn't have bluetooth...
Cosmo (formerly Chin-Poh) @ Jun 23rd 2009 11:45AM
By using the controller in wired, not wireless mode.
SourceJR @ Jun 23rd 2009 12:40PM
well you have to remember that there is already a tekken community on ps3 from tekken 5 Dark resurrection.
Tekken4Life @ Jun 25th 2009 5:20PM
Cosmo( formerly-Chin Poh) Why would anybody due that? I mean we all know that most people that are going to buy Tekken will get it on the PS3, simply due to the fact that there is a HUGE HUGE Tekken community on PS3 thanks to Tekken 5: DR Online, also the fact that Tekken is known by most people would associate Tekken with Playstation consoles simply for it's history.
Also, I don't blame you, the Xbox 360 controller has a horrible pad for fighting games. I'm glad that you guys can atleast have an arcade stick option. It's just a waste of money to get a PS3 controller adapter on the 360, just because most Tekken players will be on the PS3 anyways.
Me personally, I don't play much with arcade sticks, but I'm getting it simply so I can learn. Anybody up for a beating add me on Sicnarf, PotSmokinAtheist or SecularAnarchist on the PSN.
LordToastington @ Jun 23rd 2009 1:25PM
... PotSmokinAtheist... Yeah, I want to be associated with you. I kid.

The Dualshock is my favorite controller of all time since I used it back in 1998, the 360's controller is not far behind it though. Both work for almost all genres, but in my opinion, the 360's controller is a pain for fighting games.
But currently I have a PC, even though the 360 I gave my brother is in the living room collecting dust. I'd like to play it, but I spend a lot of money on my PC and for now will play games on it. Maybe I'll give Tekken a rental. I still want to try out Dragonball Z: Burst Limit, I enjoyed the Budokai games on the PS2.

Namco left a sour taste with Soul Calibur 4, It wasnt visually impressive to me, the online was unstable, the support was weak and the fact that they charged for characters that were in the game disc was just wrong, im not sure if i feel confident about buying this one as it doesn't look much better then dark resurrection( my opinion ) im already sketchy with the multiplayer. I do like my fighting games and i never really hesitated to play tekken( its a great fighter ) but this time i think ill just pass on this and ride it out with my classic 2d fighters, KOF, Street Fighter, Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 and Blazinblue.
PeacefulOutrage @ Jun 23rd 2009 10:58AM
Looks like Hori redesigned the controller for xbox to look like its PS3 counterpart. My old headsets may not work with it, although any mini headset will.
Jimiisama @ Jun 23rd 2009 11:00AM
Great; we waited a year to get the outdated version of Tekken, considering Tekken 6: BR is already out.
Old_Snake @ Jun 23rd 2009 12:17PM
I believe these console versions do include all of the extra content from Bloodline Rebellion
Jimiisama @ Jun 23rd 2009 12:31PM
Then this is acceptable!
Po Panda @ Jun 23rd 2009 11:42AM
Having this game on anything but a PS3 or PSP is just simply wrong! LOL! Just kidding! I will get the PS3 version when it comes out though! =D
Michael K. @ Jun 23rd 2009 12:19PM
That's my birthday!!!!
That would work our well if I liked tekken
j.howlett @ Jun 23rd 2009 2:00PM
