Only reason you say that is because it's not on the 360, Vesper.

Jeez. Just as you start sounding smart, you pull shit like this.

The 'hype' is definately deserved - the game looks absolutely phenominal. Considering how good the first was...

Take a look-see at this - http://www.gametrailers.com/video/e3-09-uncharted-2/51623

@JXCgunrunna: I know. ;)

That was suppose to say "Man" not "Me" but I guess I secretly wanted to be the captain of Firefly. :)

Definitely one of the best trailers I've seen recently that uses the in-game engine. The only other game to impress me like that was RE5 (part of the reason I bought it actually).

The only other game that really impressed me was Splinter Cell: Conviction but from a graphic and action standpoint the Uncharted 2 honors are more than well deserved.

Definitely a day-one purchase.

The Uncharted 2 demo definitely had the best of show without any doubt. Best trailer goes to The Last Guardian.

Definitely agree with the winner, as it had the most impressive demo AND trailer. Runner up I'd go with God of War 3 as that demo was pretty amazing too.

I'm glad to see Mass Effect 2 win best RPG, but really it's not surprising. Mass Effect is so good that whenever one is coming out it's going to win every RPG award automatically, no matter who else is competing.

After all the talk about Forza 3, I guess I just thought it would be the clear winner. I'm surprised!

Split/Second looks like more fun, and I really liked Pure, but I'm not a fan of sim-racing. I like explosions and big jumps in the middle of my races. Even not being a sim fan, I was still impressed with Forza 3.

A must buy! I still play the first and 2 should be absolutely amazing. Naughty Dog does some gorgeous work.

How was Forza 3 not the best racing game?

Critics have a bias toward originality, and Split/Second does seem like a unique take on the genre.

Forza 3 is sure to be a great game when it comes out, anyway.

Not that it looks bad, but I'm just wondering what makes that better than the AC2 trailer and especially better than the gameplay trailer for SC: Conviction. Is it because they have funny cut scenes? Reminds me of a modern day, not boring, Indiana Jones.

Was there more than this trailer that got it 3 awards?

Yes.

The trailer alone wouldn't have sold the critics on this game. Sony showed some gameplay footage at their press conference that was very impressive. There may have also been some stations set up to demo the multiplayer component.

Not the greatest quality, but here's the stuff from the Sony conference:

I'm still more interested in Assassin's Creed 2, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Alan Wake, etc., but Uncharted 2 does look like quite an improvement over the original (that I wasn't terribly impressed by).

I guess it's because for anyone who's played the first one, when you see the trailer and some of the extended gameplay sequences you can really get a feel for how absofuckinglutely fantastic this sequel is going to be.

AC was generally recieved as good but not great and Splinter Cell has been of the radar until E3; Uncharted is generally regarded as one of the best games yet this gen from one of the most reputable developers in the business so seeing how much better the sequel is shaping up to be compared to the already awesome original is exciting.

The E3 trailer was so great and I really think they should do a movie with the same actors. The guy who plays Drake doesn't look like him in the game but he's young and fit enough to pull it off. I couldn't imagine anyone else in that role.

Here's another Uncharted 2 link from GameTrailers, haven't seen this one posted on this thread yet....

I will have to say that the gameplay video I seen from Assassin Creed 2 was just as impressive graphics wise as Uncharted 2. The difference maker for me is the balls to the wall action, great voice work and all around polish.

Splinter Cell Conviction impressed me alot and it definitely in my top 5 games I want to play this year

I know this game has not received a lot of pub but after the demos I saw, it does look like a game to watch out for and thats Just Cause 2. The game looks absolutely stunning and the gameplay looks loads of fun. JC2 might end up being the sleeper hit of the year.

Star Wars for best PC game... W. T. F. it was a fucking cutscene!

But anyhow, U2 did look decent, best showing on PS3 for definite, only (fixable) fault I saw was the climbing was a bit 'animatronic'..

Mass Effect, Brutal Legend & Forza 3 were my favourites
ODST actually left me feeling disapointed, running around playing memories.. Reach could be interesting if it's 4 player Spartan action!
Alan Wake has been in development that long, it was looking out of date..
L4D2 is just too soon..
Gran Turismo PSP finally!
don't rememember much else.. except that creepy Natal rubbish

Mmmm haven't played this game OR own a PS3, but I'm pretty certain all Naughty Dog products are top-notch quality. At least that was my experience back on the PS2 days...

aaah I don't think so to be honest.

I love Uncharted, and will do so for the second one; but what's so original about Uncharted?

It executes the things we have already seen in other games very well, which is why its awesome; but I don't think the game has brought anything new to the genre.

So I wouldn't consider Uncharted a game that is "original" which is why I'm baffled about Forza 3 not winning the racing title.

Most accurate doesn't always mean best.

Like I said, in 2004, Burnout 3 bested GT4 and Forza 1 for best racer at E3. And rightly so. It was a blast to play and appealed to a wide audience. And I say this as a person who has spent over $1000 on computer racing wheels in my lifetime!

It doesn't really, and that's kind of the genius of it. It's platforming is similiar to TR or POP but much more streamlined and the gunplay is just like Gears (man did I get whited out on another thread for saying that, but it's true)

The things is it takes all these very familiar gameplay mechanics and puts them into a game with production values thru the roof, excellent pacing and truly memorable and likable characters. One of the few games I've played thru multiple times this gen (and the AI of the hardest difficulty is remarkable too)

The game isn't perfect - I thought the jetski sequences bogged it down a tad and I'd like to see more to the puzzles - but those are really small nitpicks compared to the brilliance of the overall package. I have no doubt the sequel will address the small issues of the first as Naughty Dog is more critical of their work than anyone.

My best friend bought a PS3 after playing it and the man was staunchly resolved to not own a PS3. It truly is that good.

I can't wait for this game, well deserved! I tried the beta and the graphics were awesome, but i just couldn't handle how slow you moved. I know they've been patching some things on it, does anyone know if they've addressed that? Hopefully it will be all good by release, but I'm more interested in the single player, and co-op anyway.
