My girlfriend wants to actually hit this up this year and I know a few folks that work at the convention center so I might have to see what I can do :P I don't think she knows what she's in for though.

Don't even call it that. Call it "Moviecon + guests."

I'll be attending the whole 4 days (and possibly Wednesday's preview night). I've been to this con about 6 times already and it's always a blast.

Being both a comic reader and gamer does have its perks at this event too, lots of great stuff to check out. I mostly go to meet some of my favorite comic writers and artists, buy stuff, and pick up swag.

Good times!

I haven't gone for 2 years... Comic Con in SD has really out grown itself. Either it moves to another city or it limits the tickets sold.

Additionally...the geeks and nerds should really take a shower, a lot of them stink in there!

Err, it does limit the number of tickets sold. Why do you think it's impossible to buy tickets for it now? :)

Oh - I just noticed the last time you were there, 2 years ago.

Yeah, that year was HORRIBLE. There were so many people that they overloaded the cooling capacity of the air conditioners so it was just pumping out nerd breath from the vents everywhere. Great if you want to see glistening cosplayer bosoms, bad if you want to breathe... the fire marshall made them impose strict ticket limitations after that fiasco, so the last couple years haven't been nearly as bad.

I'm not into comic books and I haven'r read one in a long time, but does anybody else think that the increasing number of game companies that show non-comic-related games at Comic Con is a bit offensive? I think the creators of Comic Con should make rules and guidelines, like you aren't allowed to show a game that's not superhero related. For instance, a Spiderman game, or even Infamous, since the guy is like a superhero, can be shown, but Assassin's Creed can't be shown.

I just wrote a long comment, but the comment system ate it up. Anyway, I asked, am I the only one who thinks it's quite off putting that companies are showing non-comic related games at the show, and we're going in the direction of making Comic Con another games convention? I mean, I think the convention holders should make rules saying that game companies are only allowed to show comic and comic-related games. So Spiderman is in, as are Infamous and Prototype (main characters are kind of like superheroes), but Assassin's Creed and Splinter Cell 5 are out.
