If your thirst for over-the-top brawling wasn't quite quenched by UFC 2009: Undisputed, perhaps you should turn your attention to a fighting style with a bit more Latin flavor -- we speak, of course, of the divine art of Lucha libre, featured in the new project from young publisher Slang, titled AAA: El Videojuego (that's Spanish for "the video game," dontchaknow). The debut trailer for the game is posted after the jump.
The game's being developed for Xbox 360 and PS3 by Immersion Software and for Wii, PSP and DS by Argentine developer Sabarasa Studios. The 360 and PS3 versions are due out in late 2009 or early 2010, with all others following shortly thereafter. The game focuses on the action and the stars of the AAA wrestling league -- our personal favorite is La Parka, who's known for his Flying Eagle Kick maneuver, as well as his proclivity for delivering cans of gasoline to stranded motorists.

It is one of the first mexican developer efforts, i think it's great and means the roads are opening for other countries to contribute to the videogame industry.
I'm sure the graphics will improve a little in the final version and maybe if they get all the styles and moves of mexican lucha libre it could be a very enjoyable game.

La Parka?! Awesome...hope he brings his folder chairs and does his little Curly shuffle.
Gotta have all the masked wonders...Psychosis and Super Crazy. Blue Demon or Santo would be killer.
Trailer is not very inspiring but love the concept. I think lucha fighting would be better in standard 2D SF-style. Just more flying moves and masks.

do you know what a teaser means? for those ignorants that don't realize that this is work in progress I tell them not to compare it, yet, to other games such as TNA. For someone that knows just a little about gamedesign and 3D graphics, can tell that this game looks very good even for a work in progress. Is great to see latin american studios getting into the industry, this means we will see different games in the near future with next gen quality. I'm not a big lucha libre fan, but this game for sure will make history for latin american industry.

Finally someone who actually understands what "Teaser" means and understands when something is half a year or more away, Kudos to you Sir.

I don't follow Mexican wrestling and I don't think the game looks particularly good... but I'm glad someone's coming up with a little latin content on games. I mean, real latin content... not just your average latino bystander in GTA4. Hope it turns out good.
