But the thing is: the pc is worthless as a gaming machine, so nobody cares for it. You pretty much only have what, half of the library of xbox games? Therefore, the pc doesn't really count as a games platform so comparisons aren't obviously made.

You seriously think that?
It's true that the pc doesn't get all of the games that the 360 has, but it gets enough of the big ones, that blow the current gen consoles out of the water, and when you add its own exclusives it seems to me that the pc is hardly worthless, but that's just my opinion.

I seem insecure about owning all 3 consoles?

Don't worry, it's worse when the comment system won't even let you post (happened to me today *sigh*). Has it ever happened to you?

Regarding my original reply.. Look, it's fair if people criticise wii's graphics because, well, it deserves. Don't say that 360 owners and ps3 owners 'unite' to criticise the wii, it's just the inevitable comparison between the platforms that needs to be made.

I was more referring to how well known 360 fanboys and PS3 fanboys who are usually at each other's throats suddenly become best friends throughout the course of the thread while picking on the Wii together.

Heck, I think even Killjebus and Sprinkles would give each other a little pat on the butt if Sprinkles hated the Wii too.

Alright look Im not a damned Wii fanboy. Lets get that out in the open. I own a 360 and a Wii and if I could afford the damned thing, I'd get a PS3. However here is the deal if you really want to get down to comparisons.

Which system has sold the most units?
The Wii.

Why?

Nintendo decided that instead of processing power, they were going to go with a unique controller instead. It's not like they didn't have the capability of making a machine like the PS3 or 360, it was a choice. It was innovation over power. This also means cheaper consoles, which leads to more sales.

Another interesting point about the influence of the Wii on the other next gen systems. . . both are now using motion controlled gaming as a new way to play games. Why? Because Nintendo owned them in sales. PERIOD. They both realized that the supposed "gimmick" was apparently an innovation.

Honestly I own more 360 games than Wii games. I love the console (beside the fact that I have to buy a new one because the dvd drive is fucked) and LOVE those games. But the same goes for the Wii because I get a DIFFERENT experience on that console. Tiger Woods is a different experience on both systems and they are not comparable.

So no, they should not be compared. PS3 and 360 should be compared. The Wii is a different experience holmes.

The only way they shouldn't be compared is if they didn't come out in the same generation. Nintendo shouldn't get a free pass because they put out an underpowered console. If comparisons to games can't be made as you stated then neither can sales because they are for two different types of consumers. You can't have it both ways and say Wii games shouldn't be compared to PS360 but Wii sales numbers should be compared.

You know what? I've played the game for a few hours today. I've posted these impressions elsewhere, but they fit here.

Every single facet of this game, sans the control scheme, is thoroughly unimpressive. The gameplay is your standard corridor shoot-em-up fare. There are some nice visual effects, wrapped around pretty mediocre art and level design. The enemies are generic, in more than one sense - you've got your typical tiered enemies, except there are only a few kinds, so you see them over and over and over and over and over. The sound design is bad - the guns don't sound like guns, the background music is either not there, it doesn't fit the situation at all, or it doesn't fit the situation well enough. The animations aren't good, some of the death animations made me cringe, and the guns lack any real 'punch'. The story is a bit convoluted, though at this point it's the only thing keeping me playing. The multiplayer isn't that great, either. Every match I've been in so far has held a solid 10-15 frames per second (woooooow), and the graphics take a pretty extreme hit - you'd think you were playing Far Cry: Vengeance if not for the character models. The multiplayer map design is decent (some, like Pentagon, flat out suck), and while the multiplayer modes are fun, the combat isn't complex AT ALL - skill is thrown out of the freaking window, and a lock on system where all you have to do is hold Z and mash at the center of the screen takes its place. The weapons aren't balanced (you don't give a SMAW eight rounds of ammunition and set it right near an ammo base, are you crazy!?), and sometimes your shots don't even register. And the controls? They're not that good. Before you dig into me with the 'oh you must hate Wii for FPS' or 'The Conduit is so customizable', I'm aware of this. I sat there for thirty minutes fiddling with the controls. While the limits (or lack thereof) of customization are impressive, in the end, the feel of the controls is, uh, rubbery. It's hard to explain. You can't get it to feel like MoH:H2 or CoD:WaW, you can't get it to feel as tight. Maybe you can. I don't know, maybe I didn't spend enough time with it. So far, though, I'm only semi-impressed, and when you're only semi-impressed with a game's selling point... you know you've got a problem on your hands.

I figured this game wouldn't live up to the hype, but I wanted to give it a chance. So far, though, not only has this game not lived up to the hype, it's just a mess. I'll still be playing it for the next week or so - I don't start a game without finishing it, after all. I hope I begin to like it more as time goes on.

Wow. Although i haven't actually bothered to read any of the reviews out there, what you've written is probably more useful than 90% of them anyways. It's a shame you didn't manage to get it up here earlier, as i guess most people have moved on from here by now.

I don't even own a Wii anymore, but kudos to you sir for giving an informative and (from what i can tell) unbiased opinion of the game. Don't see much of that on here these days...

Alistar you miss my point. I put the sales out there because people can't help but point out how much Nintendo sucks comparatively to the PS3 and 360. I am saying IF you want to compare, Nintendo wins for sales.

What I am saying is you shouldn't compare them. However I am saying if you want to indeed compare systems, as a success is viewed in the gaming industry (sales), the Wii wins.

But again, I wouldn't put them in the same group.

I will also say however that Nintendo does need more 3rd party devs like High Voltage that actually want to make some decent games for the Wii instead of the same waggle bs you see everywhere. Look at the Nintendo Wii 3rd party library the next time you go into your local Gamestop. It is flooded with horse shit from get-rich-quick developers who want to make a fast buck instead of a decent game. That irritates the shit out of me. You won't see nearly as many of those on 360/PS3 because its a different market and it costs a hell of a lot more to develop for those consoles. That is, imo, Nintendo's biggest problem.

Great game. Still working through the campain. Tried out online last night. Loved it. Finally some character customization. After playing Cod:WaW for six months it's hard to get used to a different setup. It moved too fast at first. I still need to adjust the controls for online. Now we need wireless headsets. I have young kids so WiiSpeak wouldn't work for me. This just maked me want The Grinder even more.

I have to agree with you here. So far, I'm quite enjoying the game. The AI on the default setting (second to lowest) so far isn't the best in single player, although the enemies do duck for cover, cover each other some, and move from cover point to cover point somewhat to catch up to you. I'm currently up to chapter 5, I think, and am going to beat it on this setting before switching to a higher one to see what the AI reacts like there. The story is a bit generic, as others have said, but with that I'm still enjoying it. The voice work is great, and that helps make it a better story to my perspective, even with the generic plot. The controls are simply phenomenal. Every now and again I find myself tweaking this point or that, to get the controls just perfectly right for me. I don't really seem to have any problem with the grenade or melee motions like Gamepro said; they haven't hampered me at all, and the grenades throw every time I use one without adjusting sensitivity. The thing you have to remember with the grenades is they toss out to your cursor, so you have to adjust cursor height for distance (I like that strategy part of it). I tried out the multiplayer as well, and its just a blast. Looks good, plays great. I've only played a couple of games so far: Bounty Hunter and ASE Football. Both modes are great fun. Trying to avoid others while stalking your target in Bounty Hunter is cool. And ASE Football just feels like a melee. Everyone charging after the one with the ASE, then someone grabbing it up and hauling butt for cover. Can't wait to get home tonight to get more into the story, and play some more multiplayer. I'm curious how well Wii Speak works with Conduit. I don't have Speak yet, but plan on picking it up just for this game (although I don't know if that would be a good idea or not, as I have no friends to use it with...lol).

I'm thoroughly impressed, I love The Conduit. Would anyone be interested in trading Wii/Conduit friend codes? If so my email is azuck01@hotmail.com.

Highlar:
I agree about grenades. CoD:WaW is always a guessing game for me, but the way The Conduit handles them is great. So far the only control problem I've had is trying to turn too fast just puts the gun aimed at the top corner of the screen. I still haven't customized the controls yet. I think the melee atacks are better than WaW, too. I finished a level with melee attacks after running out of ammo! So far online has been mixed. Last night was great, but tried it today and I couldn't move or even exit the match so I had to turn off my Wii. With no other FPS on the horizon(Red Steel 2 is very ify) I might have to get Medal of Honor Heroes 2 if I tire of Conduit and WaW.

Got it yesterday, played about three hours so far. While it's not the Greatest FPS Evar, it's a fun, solid game for people who just want to jump in and kick ass. Single player campaign is merely okay, but multiplayer is where it's really at.
